I’m hearing details from my favorite movies through this receiver that I couldn’t hear through my old one. I call that an upgrade.

Pretty good unit. only complaint is the HDMI switching is a little buggy at times. No signal detected from LGE OLED tv on occasion. A quick shutdown of everything and back on solves the issue.

Technically sharp personnel, however the execution was not precise. The sound system is missing 1 component (subwoofer) and the rear satellite speakers are not working properly

Upgraded as part of new home theater setup. Total Tech (Geek Squad) installation was great as he caught a couple of glitches. Lost audio system sound, and phone call helped remedy the problem. Plenty of power for my Martin Logan speakers. Feel like I'm in a movie theater.

I have been using Yamaha receivers for well over a decade now and they are always reliable and more trouble free than other brands of a similar value. This seems to be no exception. Especially when it comes to the Aventage line if receives for where it falls in the price range against other brands, it’s a great option.

Big upgrade from my old Sony receiver. Only complaint is it doesn't like to kick on the subwoofer at volume levels are above -39. Especially good value on sale.
