Not convenient operating very large old school remote control and not easy to setup the menus.
I wish to have some basic controls on front panel.

I love almost everything about this AVR. The only problem I'm having, and it pretty much makes this impossible to use, is the sound through ARC cuts out and back on. Sometimes it happens for a fraction of as second, sometimes for 10 seconds.
Just to make sure it wasn't my specific model, I have also tried the V6A and 700 (some insides) and all of them had this problem.
It is for sure this AVR that is at fault. I've tried a Denon and an older Yamaha and neither has a this problem.
Maybe Yamaha can fix this through firmware, but I'm not willing to take a gamble on that, especially at this price point.

I bought this Yamaha RX-A2A RECEIVER on AUGUST 12,2021 for $849.
It was installed September 5, 2021
It stopped working on September 22, 2021.
The HDMI out stopped working.
I called BEST BUY. They said they wouldn’t help since 15 days passed. The replacement digital board was out of stock. Anticipated restocking date was January 5, 2022.
Beware when you buy from Best Buy. I buy all of my electronics at Best Buy. No more. They have the worst return policy. 30 days after buying this Yamaha the price went from $849 to $899.

Unfortunately, this unit caused major problems for me. I was delighted with the online descriptions and limited reviews for this new product from Yamaha, but the unit delivered was clearly defective. Installation was attempted by the Geek Squad team, who spend several hours dealing with connectivity issues (audio not functioning on one or more devices, no clear way to perform factory reset, etc.) Ultimately, I selected a comparable Denon unit, which was installed without any problems and works perfectly.

Replacement of earlier Toshiba that quit working (no help forthcoming from Toshiba). New unit really doesn't do a very good job. Added to that, the set up isn't user friendly. Wish i had not purchased the new unit.
