    Very Happy WIth This Unit

I have been a fan of Yamaha products for many years. We were very happy with our last Aventage receiver, but lightening killed our ARC channel. I was once told that the Aventage receivers were the same as the Yamaha equivalents, except they had a better warranty. That is far from the truth. We purchased the Yamaha version, as we didn't want to wait for shipping. We were later advised that there is a big difference between the lines, so we ordered this unit. The difference is big! As far as quality, the remote is even more solid. It's heavier and feels sturdy. It has more buttons for easier navigation. The unit itself has more settings options. It is easier to dial in that perfect sound, but the unit already has great sound. It's better with some tweaking. I am extremely happy with this unit!

Been a fan of Yamaha receivers for over 15 years and been highly satisfied with their mid level receivers. This particular receiver works great with my set up using an arc connection to the TV and all other products running through the receiver. Running B&W in-ceiling speakers in rear, passive sound bar for the fronts, and a Klipsch sub that makes it all come alive.

I love this receiver, before you buy learn about 4k 120 dolby atmos and arora? Did I spell it right. All things you need to know becouse it does not come with it out of the box but will with future firmware update minus the arora 3d if you want that you need the 6a or 8a and if you want true dual subwoofer management you need the 6a or 8a and if you want xlr inputs you need the 6a or 8a but im not interested in that extra stuff so this amp kicks butt for me I also use the outlaw amp to power all my speakers so this combo is awsome

I've had my RX-A4A for about two weeks and am LOVING it. This AVR is customizable to your taste in music and movies and this was exactly what I was looking for. I like to listen to instrumental, vocal, Jazz and Classical music and now I can enjoy my favorite tracks with highest quality, separation...etc. WOW! Special effects in movies sound amazing and are very engaging. If you buy this until, understand that you can do a lot with the remote especially invoking features for your listening pleasure. Also learn Yamaha's lingo if you're new to their world. It makes it easy to communicate with them. This comes with spending time learning the system. if you get stuck just call Yamaha's technical support and they will help you. Good people! I also bought some ELAC UF52 speakers, Center Channel & Sub for the A4A and they sound amazing. Great combo is you ask me!

This is the lowest model in the Aventage line. I know there is the A2A but that is not really what I consider Aventage level. The A2A is basically a V6A. But this A4A is all Aventage. The internal design and high quality components make this a high end reciever. The sound quality is shockingly good. It is clear and powerful with that smooth, natural Yamaha sound I like. The version of YPAO it has actually works well. Just need a small amount of fine tuning. After connecting to my home network it prompted me to update the firmware which enabled HDMI 2.1 on all 7 inputs. And they work perfect passing 4K120, VRR and ALLM from my PS5 without issue. The MusicCast app is great especially since the front panel display is small now. I personally like the big volume knob but some may not. This receiver is not cheap with the current inflation but it offers so much performance. The reason to get an Aventage over the competition in the same price range would be personal preference in the way it sounds. To me the competitors sound too sterile and almost too accurate. Yamaha sound is much more pleasant to my ear.

This is a very powerful and awesome sounding receiver. I replaced my Onkyo Receiver with this one and the sound is quality is not comparable. I've been a total Onkyo fan for 35 years but now I'm "all in" with Yamaha.

I’ve had my eyes on this unit for a while knowing that my prior unit had been through several moves and had taken a beating, I physically, so this upgrade was well needed. This unit is very very complex so I’m still trying to figure everything out, I have all the right prices in place, now I’m just tweaking it the way I like it. So far so good.

Replaced an old projector in our home theatre and decided to replace our Yamaha TSR 7850 receiver. Glad I stick with Yamaha…. It’s the third one I’ve owned in the last 20+ years. Always great, and this one’s better!

Great receiver so far. Having all 7 HDMI inputs being 2.1 capable is a big plus to help keep up the the current technology for years to come. Only deducted 1 star due to the increasing price over previous models. With the chip shortage and shipping issues, it is to be expected. Not really Yamaha’s fault.

Yamaha RX- A4A is a solid unit. I ended up returning it and getting the next level up (A6A) so I could run a full Atmos system without the height and rear speakers switching.

Excellent in every way! The unit gives my Klipsch speakers a warm sound, by that I mean it sounds very natural in the tones. The remote is backlit (a nice surprise) and is very straightforward. The onscreen setup also includes a ? feature that answers the questions about certain features.

I was looking for a new receiver to replace my 22 year old Sony 444 ES. After reading the reviews, and asking the Yamaha tech department for the best choice to handle my current 5.1 surround sound, the recommended RX was the Aventage RX-A4A. The difference now in my home theater is amazing, and my DVDs now have a new life!

It doesn't come with any audio wire and setup is a little tricky. Sounds great but a little large, takes up some space. A great piece of tech if you can find it on sale.

Highly recommend the Yamaha RX-A4A. At this price point it is truly exceptional. I’m only using it as an amplifier for my hifi system, and it works great. Simply connected it to a PC monitor with an HDMI cable for setup, which was a breeze.

I had a lower Yamaha model that died after 3.5 months and the Geek Squad could not fix it. So I got the money back from that and bought this model which is much better sounding and hopefully lasts longer. So far I like it.
