Yamaha RX- A4A is a solid unit. I ended up returning it and getting the next level up (A6A) so I could run a full Atmos system without the height and rear speakers switching.

Replaced an old projector in our home theatre and decided to replace our Yamaha TSR 7850 receiver. Glad I stick with Yamaha…. It’s the third one I’ve owned in the last 20+ years. Always great, and this one’s better!

Highly recommend the Yamaha RX-A4A. At this price point it is truly exceptional. I’m only using it as an amplifier for my hifi system, and it works great. Simply connected it to a PC monitor with an HDMI cable for setup, which was a breeze.

Had a brand new Denon and I had nothing but problems, so after a couple months I returned and I went to Best Buy and bought the Yamaha receiver and so far I’m impressed with it !!!

I had a lower Yamaha model that died after 3.5 months and the Geek Squad could not fix it. So I got the money back from that and bought this model which is much better sounding and hopefully lasts longer. So far I like it.

Wow. Once I got past the somewhat steep learning curve, this is truly a superb receiver. The previous one I had didn't hold a candle to this one. I am still learning more of its capabilities every day. It is complex, but worth the effort to delve into the manual and play around with the remote. Oh, and it sounds great, too!

I primarily use this AV receiver for music. It is paired with Martin Logan 40i's as front speakers and SVS SB1000 Pro as my sub. Although my Martin Logans are 4 ohm speakers and the Yamaha receiver is rated at 110 w/ch into 8 ohm with 2 channels driven I have not had issues with the amp getting hot at high volumes. The fan has never turned on. The wattage is sufficient for my needs since my room is 17 by 22 with a 9 foot ceiling.
As for features, I did have issues setting up MusicCast. In fact, I could never get it to connect, but the receiver is sitting literally 8 inches from my router and is able to do software updates. The Apple AirPlay always connects. ARC pairing with my Sony TV is also sound.
There are a ton of features on this thing, too many to discuss. I considered buying an A6A but at the time, however, the supply chain was short. The 110 w/ch is good unless you really have seriously inefficient speakers. This is a good receiver for the price. Not sure I needed to spend $800 more for 40 more watts since you have to double the power for a 3 db gain in SPL.

Yamaha Avr A4A was in stock and personnel helped me get it into my Jeep after the process to apply for a Best Buy CC. Being a member also payed for its self with a discount on the AVR.

I've never been disappointed in Yamaha and this receiver is as awesome as the rest. We take pride in using these with our clients in their conference rooms and how they sound. You won't regret choosing a Yamaha receiver!

Amazing amplifier. You need to have the time to read the manual, setup features according to your best desires. You can setup each channel with different sound effect.
