Great Buy-Easy Set up
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For those of you old enough to remember, my first receiver was a 4-Channel Pioneer. I have had Kenwood, Technics and Yamaha. I was replacing an old Kenwood so after doing some research I landed upon this one after considering one Atmos capable. Very Happy with it. Easy setup and sound great! Would recommend!

Yamaha RX-V385
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great receiver! I had it plugged in and setup in full 4K HDR with my XBOX One X and Sony TV in minutes. The Yamaha YPAO auto setup is easy to use and made my A/V setup sound amazing! No further adjustments are necessary except for cranking the volume and enjoying your games and movies!

Home theater one.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was torn between a home theater or a sound bar. So happy I chose a home theater. I read a lot of reviews and Yamaha had the best reviews. This receiver quality is amazing and Bluetooth was easy to set up. I purchased good quality speakers which really compliment this receiver. Happy with my purchase.

Terrible sound for music!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice menus & easy setup. Color looks great to the monitor (TV) on all my devices. Roku. Blu-ray player. Game console. Computer. (Yes. I run my PC on my big screen Panasonic plasma TV.) Surround sounded really good. However, music playback was terrible. I'm something of an audiophile with 831 albums on my computer stored in WAV file format (the BEST), & this unit was way too HOT sounding for my tastes. WAY TOO MUCH TREBLE! Like nails on a chalkboard at high volumes. This Yamaha lacks the warmth of my old Onkyo or my new Denon. One nice feature is having an EQ for the speakers to dial in the sound. But, they all need to be EQ'd individually. Needs a feature to set the same frequencies to all the speakers at the same time. I spent 3 days trying to EQ the sound for this receiver for music playback & it finally started sounding decent. (Which you shouldn't have to do. A good receiver will sound good right out of the box without any effects or adjustments.) Then it started shutting down. To be fair, I was pushing it hard for 12 hours straight. I thought it was going into protection mode because it was overheating. But, the next morning after cool down, it started shutting down again after a few minutes of playback. Maybe I burned it up by pushing it too hard at high volumes for too long. Maybe I got a bad unit. I have a friend with a similar unit & his has been going strong for 7 years. Recently my mother had a similar issue with her Yamaha shutting down constantly so I think it's inherent in the brand. And, I didn't like the sound AT ALL for music playback, so I returned it & bought a Denon instead.

Nice entry level Reciever for your 4K TV
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a Yamaha I bought about 10 years ago for my Samsung TV. Obviously before the smart 4K's emerged. The Yamaha consistently pumped out the sound...and still does in another room. We upgraded to a Sony and this was perfect. Sounds good and easy to hook up.

Yamaha Receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the best for a Home Entertainment Center; it does everything needed for a non-professional set up. So far, we have thoroughly enjoyed the unit's capabilities.

I love it
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s a very intelligent receiver, I purchased it for It’s 4K capabilities but quickly found out it can do a lot more. The remote control automatically controls all of my devices, it controls my Apple TV and fire stick i didn’t have to do any setup. It shows the name of the device connected, it turns on automatically when it receives a incoming signal. It has 4K up scaling capabilities, supports HDR10. I love everything about this receiver. One of the best purchases I made.

Killer sound, great setup
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I finally upgraded after an old Pioneer finally died. The on-screen menus are really helpful, if not all in the same place for easy setup. The sound is great, it has the Dolby Digital Plus that many streaming services (including Netflix) use, so you are getting top notch sound. Very easy to use, highly recommended!

Solid Home Theater receiver, good value for the $$
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wiring connections are easy on this unit. The setup can take some trial-and-error, depending on what you're trying to do, but when you get it right, this produces good sound and includes a good AM/FM receiver. Playing Smart TV sound back through the receiver and out to the remote speakers can be done with this unit and it brings streaming programs to life.

Great receiver
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great receiver - this replaces the same model that was 5 years old and did not have enough HDCP 2.2 outlets plus this newer model had some more features that are impressive. A lot of receiver for the money. Using the old one in the bedroom.

Excellent product!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had a 20+ year old Yamaha receiver that finally gave up the ghost. While we aren't audiophiles and don't utilize all the options provided by this device, it is excellent and easy to use for what we need.
