I bought this to replace an old Denton that stopped working. I use it for karaoke, and this Yamaha sounds so much better. Beautiful sound that is clear in every range. Rich, fill bass, tight middle, and crisp clean highs. I love it.

I searched and compared receivers that had plenty of volume, punch, bluetooth, 5.1-CH,HDMI® 4 in/1 out) 4K Ultra HD support, Dolby Vision and positive reviews. I also did not want to spend a lot of money. This receiver has an incredible, crystal clear sound and plenty of bass punch. It is right up there with the high dollar receivers and for $279.95 you can't beat it. I've been a musician all my life, toured with many name acts and I know sound. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great surround receiver for an excellent price.

As far as I'm concerned, Yamaha and Denon are the cream of the crap for receivers. This is my second Yamaha receiver, an upgrade from my aging V375, and I couldn't be happier. Plugging in cables was a cinch, config menus are responsive and intuitive, and the thing is built like a tank.

This is a solid choice for a standard home theater installation (i.e., your living room). Improved over earlier version with standard 4K and a nice assortment of sound options. I find that this power output is MORE than sufficient for standard listening as well as the "ramp it up" movie / concert events. Reasonably priced and our prior one lasted >10 years before a power surge took it out.

Love it! So easy to to get set up and easy to use! Purchased this to replace a supposed “higher quality” brand that had failed less than a year after purchase. And the quality is better than the previous receiver.

This upgrade is exactly what I needed at a fantastic price. I needed to replace an old Sony 5.1 surround sound home theater receiver. I don't have ceiling speakers (7.1 surround) so this fit my needs perfectly. The HDMI ports are idiot proof. I have my Roku stick, Google chromecast, and blu-ray player plugged in. Everything simply works perfectly. I also love the Bluetooth connection feature as I've paired it with my Samsung S10...I stream music from a variety of sources from my phone through this Yamaha Receiver. This home theater works perfectly for my situation - just check the specs to see if this meets your needs.

It's hard to find quality receivers right now because of supply issues, but when I saw this Yamaha available at Best Buy for $349 (which matched Amazon's price), it was a no-brainer. This is a nice easy-to-use receiver; I'm running eARC HDMI with my new TCL Roku tv and Bluray/Cable with a Kenwood sub and two full range Polk audio speakers. It sounds great, but I think there's a few too many sound choices on the menu, some of which add a lot of reverb; not sure I will ever use them. Quality-wise: I'm still using a 1986 model Yamaha receiver in my basement gym, still going strong...
