Beautiful and Powerful. This is Home Entertainment at its best. The display on the unit is on the small-ish in size, but the onscreen menu and setup is very easy to navigate

Works great. Can play Amazon music hi res FLAC files. We have three Yamaha receivers and with MusicCast we can play the same content on all three at the same time.

Great for a single zone 5.1 set up. Music Cast app is a plus for control over mobile device

Bought this unit to replace our old Yamaha receiver. This unit is completely compatible with our speakers. It was relatively easy to install. Would recommend to others.

Like seemingly every receiver, the UI on this is pretty bad, but the sound is good.

The printed and on screen instructions for set up are minimalist and do not address options for programming sound effects, etc. Once set up, the unit is functioning fine. Definitely a simpler set up than for Denon AVR, which I also recently completed. I chose to hard wire rear surround speakers rather than use the wireless feature on the Yamaha receiver, given a bad experience with the Denon HEOS system, which does not provide surround sound.

Purchased as ‘used in Excellent condition’ with ‘no missing accessories’. This is my first experience with ANY sort of AV receiver (moved into a new house with surround sound; figured I’d give it a shot), and it took me awhile to find my bearings. I had some difficulty connecting it to the existing system. It didn’t come with instructions or any accessories, but I thought this was standard. Some googling allowed me to realize that a remote should’ve been included. And it’s needed to assist with basic setup through the TV as you cannot do it from the front panel. This is partly a design flaw it seems. It’s probably a great receiver, but make sure you get the remote! Not too pleased with Best Buy stating that all accessories were included, when in fact the MOST important one was missing. I’m usually really happy with purchases here, and I’m hoping this was a simple mislabeling. In process of ordering one from Yamaha right now.

Good but missing features that supposed to come in a future update. The update release has not been announced.

I had two Onkyo receivers die on me recently. I decided to try Yamaha and so far, so good.

Solid AVR so far. Airplay also works flawlessly. Looking forward to trying high refresh rates when I get a new TV.

Great sound, complicated to use music cast. Lost a star because apparently ARC doesn't work consistently with different TV bands. Only works intermittently, you end up using the optical connection. And yes, I used a high speed HDMI cable.

4 stars for a dated user interface and a less than helpful user manual. Performance is as expected. Great value for the price!

Receiver performs as expected. There are additional features we were not considering, that have actually made it a better choice than we expected at the time. Cairo at the Pinole store deserves extra credit for knowledgeable help making the purchase.
