    Good Starter Earbuds, with limitations

The Yamaha TW-E3As are a good lower end, starter earphones. They are the type that fit into your ear canal and have a good overall sound. They compensate for lower volume listening by increasing sounds that are normally hard to hear at lower volumes. The effect does work, but there is no way to tailor this in the app, other than to turn them on or off. I found that no matter what, the bass (which I don't want a lot of, but at least neutral) was almost non-existent. I tried all the different eartips provided, but just couldn't get that all essential seal you need to get decent bass. After purchasing some "foam eartip: manufacturer's brand and placing them on the Yamahas, the earbuds really began to shine. Clear, concise sound. Good bass response. I had a completely different view on their sound. Unfortunately, a poorly designed case, no active noise cancellation (available on other earbuds at this price point) and poor battery life take away from the sound and ability of this product. The fact that I have a look to another company's tips speak volumes. Good starter set, but that's about it.

Let me break it down how good these earphones are: 1) They are so easy to pair. From the box, I placed the earphones in the case. Then I put them in my ears. My phone easily recognized them. Each earphone is paired to each other and was easily paired to my phone. 2) The fit is okay. I had to make sure I twist them back to my ears to get a good fit. I lucked out that the buds size is right for my ears, though Yamaha included other sized buds. It sits in my ears pretty snug, however, I don't think I can take it out running because it slides off every so often when I abruptly move. I don't think they are sport ones anyway. 3) I think this is the most important--Sound quality is VERY VERY GOOD. When I first put the earphones on, the sound was just okay. I thought I had to adjust the equalizer. But remember, like any earphones, they have to sit right in your ears. When I had them snug in my ears, the sound quality just increased 300%. The base was so full, and the quality of the highs and mids were discernable from each other. 4) The call quality is good as well. I like it that it automatically picks up my voice commands. So my assistant works easily. So I usually do voice commands to call friends and phone calls on this are pretty crisp. So far in the days that I have them, the calls have not dropped on me or the connection stays stable even if I have my phone in the next room. Maybe one minor con is the case-- it feels flimsy to the touch. But how often to I actually engage with the case? So I don't think that matters too much, but just something I think I should note. Regardless, I think these earphones are great. The phone call quality is just a plus-- the sound of music is worth it!

These Yamaha earbuds are quite simple in design and features but pack a punch in sound. Quality of sound is most impressive with clear highs in the lower volumes as well as at full volume. I was never uncomfortable with the volume when listening to music with these. Part of that is due to a feature they call Listening Care which will adapt to the environment you're in and change the sound levels to compensate for a quiet room or a busy street. I would listen to music with these on while in my car with other cars passing by at half volume and still get the perfect noise isolation while also keeping the clarity of sound. Another great aspect with these earbuds is the case they come in. The case is small in design and very similar to air pods. They are not obtrusive and are perfectly capable of fitting in any pocket of jeans that you may have without looking like something is sticking out of your pocket. I really enjoy these earbuds for their simplicity and quality sound. I enjoy the physical buttons on the left and right earbuds which allow you to control your music or assistant on your phone. The buttons are very clicky so you know when you press them. The actual fit of the earbuds is solid as well. They block out noise very well and I did not suffer with them even through 1 hour of listening. Another great aspect of these earbuds are how hidden they are when they're in your ear. For guys with short hair like myself, I can get away with earbuds in my ears during work with these as people do not notice them until they try to get my attention. I highly recommend this pair of earbuds for someone looking for a new pair or just an alternative to air pods.

    Not Too Bad Earbuds

I really wanted to like these as my Airpods Pro seem to slowly slide out of my ears over time. Although these do not have that issue, they are not all that comfortable for long-term wear. I tried the included wings at first and can say they can cause some pain over time.I am also a petite person and these are on the larger side for me, which may be part of the pain issues I had. The pairing process was a bit confusing upon arrival and I seemed to connect each earpiece separately but wasn't able to use them in tandem, I later found the instructions in the manual provided but really would have appreciated a quick start guide of some sort given this functionality. In terms of sound, they do fine, I did notice a bit of a difference in sound between the earbuds while using them together. I much prefer simplistic tech when it comes to things like earbuds and these seem to be more cumbersome than user-friendly. It's hard to tell when the buds are fully charged given that there is no light shown while charging unless it is just the case. Also, knowing which features are designated to L or R earbud was a bit to get used to. Overall, I prefer other earbuds to these

These earbuds have been somewhat enjoyable to use so far. I have noticed these headphones seem to be a trade of comfort for good sound. For my ears at least, these earbuds feel rather large. Not so much that they stick out far, but that overall the bud itself is pretty big around and I really struggle to get them to stay in and more importantly stay in place comfortably. Luckily Yamaha gives you several different bud tips and covers to find what works best and it has helped slightly. Once the earbuds are comfortably in place though, you realize the sound quality of these headphones is impressive and they have a high quality sound to them. They sound very clear and the base is higher than expected and I love it. It seems to be difficult to find headphones that are strong when it comes to base and treble but these excel in that category. Without even having to change any equalizer settings I am very happy with these earbuds. I have listed to music, movies, tv shows, and a podcast with these and all situations were enjoyable. As long as you can get these comfortably in your ear, you will love them, highly recommended!

Just pulled them out of the case and instantly connects to bluetooth once selected. I don't know if they are worth $130 but they do sound better than some of the other pairs I own because the bass is better. They also feel comfortable when I put them in compared to the other ones. Haven't tried working out in them yet so no comment there. It says battery should last 6 hours.

Excellent sound! Similar to surround sound but in an earbud. Paired easily to my phone or computer. I downloaded the Yamaha Headphones app, but it kind of useless, basically a manual. The earbuds have a case that will charge the earbuds. Extra ear tips and silicon sleeves are included. The sound of the earbuds is awesome! Highly recommend!

Some nice headphones, that have solid sound, ease of use and great value. Would be better if ANC was included, but that would have driven up price. Keep them in the car or bag as a backup set for gym or random needs. Case charges via USB-C and can work independently of each other (don't need both in ear to work) also have pretty great Bluetooth range.

I was blown away by these headphones. They were super comfortable sound amazing, and connected to my iPhone very easily. The app seemed unnecessary to me but some might find it helpful.

Easy to pair with bluetooth devices, you can use one ear bud or both. Perfect for listening to music while working or working out at the gym. The buttons are some what hard to press and difficult to figure out. The case is bulky compared to other options that are currently on the market. Very comfortable for extended use and the best part, they stay in place while moving around.
