The headphones I've used for about 2 years now are Skullycandy's Crusher wireless headphones. I thought these headphones were awesome until I tried the Yamaha E700A. Wow! I didn't know what I was missing out on. I use headphones for basic things like watching YouTube videos and playing games on my mobile device. I also use headphones for PC gaming, such as Fortnite. I am hearing sounds from my Fortnite game that I didn't even know existed. Even on low-medium volume, the gaming sounds are so awesome. They are definitely enhancing my gaming experience. It may seem kind of strange, but with my Crushers, I had a hard time hearing people talk to me. Even with the advanced ANC feature, I can more readily hear if someone is trying to talk to me. The battery life seems to be way better with the E700A headphones as well. With moderate use, I can get an extra day or two from these headphones before needing to charge them - as compared to my Crushers. Another great addition is the case that these come with. They provide great protection for the headphones, which will come in handy for traveling. Overall, I am very happy with these headphones. They are comfortable to wear and have awesome sound. A must buy!

There's a lot to like about this headset, but the best one is the most important one in a headset - the sound quality. For me, this headset checks all the boxes: the sound is clear, crisp, and has some punchy bass that I can feel but doesn't muddy the rest of the sound. Plus, thanks to the Listening Care feature, turning the volume down doesn't degrade the sound quality (which is a problem that many headsets I've used have). I really appreciated this combined with the implementation of Active Noise Cancelation, because I really like to shut out the outside world when I put on my headset but I also would rather not damage my hearing or sacrifice sound quality. On the other hand, the thing I *least* appreciated was the app. As far as apps for audio devices go? It's kind of garbage. There's a lot not to like - not much is configurable, a lot of settings are simple on/off switches where you can't adjust the levels (such as the ambient mode), the firmware update option is unreliable at best and more likely unimplemented, and the UI to me is just kind of gross. There are a few other cons to this headset, but mostly it's just pros from here. I think the fit could be better - normally I take a headset off because my ears start to hurt from the sound, but in this case I take it off because my head starts to hurt from the fit. That's a pretty big flaw, but not a dealbreaker. The battery life is a big pro - I have one other headset of this class, and it has noticeably shorter battery life. About half as much, in fact. The connectivity is pretty good, and it sounds great whether I'm using a wire or Bluetooth. I will say it works better on newer devices, as the connection would be less reliable when I used it with my iPhone 7 than it was with my iPhone SE 2. The controls for the headset are simple enough to use, which is a good thing. I'm not a super big fan of the implementation of voice assistants (I really enjoy when headsets have a dedicated button for that instead of making that one of several functions of a button), but it's not a dealbreaker for me. Using the headset for calls worked pretty well, so no complaints there. Finally, I really like the travel case included. In short? This isn't the greatest headset out there, and there's room for improvement. But, it's still one of the best I've used, though not *the* best; and I'm going to be hanging onto it for quite some time.

The Yamaha YH-E700A Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones come in a nice carrying case. These headphone fold flat for storage. The battery life with noise cancelling on is about 35 hours. While these headphones are wireless, they also have the capability of wired. They include an USB cable and an audio cable for wired playback. There is also a push button on the left earcup for Active Noise-Cancelling. The power and volume push buttons are located on the right earcup. There is an app available also. Each earphone fits over the ear and conforms to your ear nicely. The playback is excellent, for both the phone and computer. The sound quality does not diminish as you turn the volume down. You can feel the earcups on your ears after a few hours, but this does not take away from the enjoyment of these headphones. I would recommend the Yamaha YH-E700A Headphones to family and friends.

The BEST set of headphones I own!

Yamaha has delivered an amazing set of over the ear headphones in a market flooded with competition. I’ve owned various brands from Skullcandy to Bose each with their own distinct qualities. Right out of the box I had no issue connecting Bluetooth and listening to music from my phone and WOW I was blown away by the quality of sound coming off the E700A’s! I was expecting to have to download an app to for EQ settings, but I realized that was not necessary with Yamaha’s “True Sound” and “Listening optimizer”. I really don’t feel the need to fuss around with EQ because it really does sound amazing. I nearly maxed out the volume for a few songs, some with heavy bass and others with higher treble and the E700A’s seamlessly handled everything I threw at them with no distortion at all! The headphones are well constructed with a terrific matte finish. Ear cups are large enough to accommodate larger ears and extremely comfortable to wear for extended periods of listening. They are slightly heavier than other headphones I have used but I would expect that with the technology packed into these things! The Noise cancellation is also stellar, I do a fair amount of traveling and headphones are a must on a plane. The ANC really drowns out ambient noise perfectly, better than I have seen in my experience. I really enjoy the ambient noise feature that allows you to have outside noise pumped in if you need to have a conversation or listen for announcements or something, that is new to me and a great idea to have. I have had a few work calls using these without any issue with people hearing me or call quality in general. Lastly, I am a big fan of the USB-C connection as technology moves away from the varied types of USB to a truer universal option. Bonus points for that Yamaha! Overall, I highly recommend the E700A’s as a versatile set of headphones with superior sound quality and listening technology! You can’t go wrong with them!!

These headphones are more than they seem out of the box once you figure out all they bring to the table. First, they are comfortable and easy to set up and use. The great part about the sound experience you get is the custom noise cancelling modes for varied levels of ambient sound. They also have active sound sampling to adjust the sound based on the ambient sound and fit of headphones to used taking gaps and air leakage into consideration. That is next level! The sound quality is great at low volumes You can also access Siri or Google Assistant while wearing them. Great pair of headphones that will get lots of use!

We just moved to a new home and in the midst of homeschooling and unpacking, it can be pretty hard to find enough quiet to concentrate on work. These have been a lifesaver for my family and my job! I turn on the noise cancellation and some soothing music and no matter what my kids are doing around me, I can find some peace to work. The really helpful thing for us is that I can find that peace while keeping my office door open so then once in a while I can still take a physical inventory of the kids and no they are ok. The sound, music wise, is wonderful, it’s crisp and clean and I just can’t say enough good things about these headphones!

Context: I'm not an audiophile, but now have a pretty decent amount of experience using and reviewing wireless headphones and can appreciate the various levels of performance, utility, features and overall value to the best of my abilities. While I've had extensive experience with wireless earbuds & pods- both with an without ANC- using the Yamaha - YH-E700A Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones is the first time I've spent any real time reviewing an over-the-ear pair of wireless headphones. Wow, what a difference! I've yet to use a pair of earbuds that has what I'd consider truly effective ANC capabilities. Simply putting on a pair of good over-the-ear headphones automatically "cancels" noise much better than any earbuds I've ever used & from there, it got better... While not exactly travelling and/or hanging out in the traditional noisy places where ANC is touted (e.g. the airport), I did my best to make my current environment as noisy as possible with background distractions- appliances, TV in the other room, neighbors outside, etc.. There were clear and distinct differences between 4 simple comparison modes: No earphones, earphones with "ambient sound" on, earphones with ambient sound off/ANC off, earphones with ANC on. The "ambient sound" setting easily allows you to hear what's going on around you, perhaps even better than normal as it takes in the outside noise from the earphones microphones and plays them through the earphones- very effectively negating the natural noise-cancellation that comes from using the comfortable, well-sealed over-the-ear cups. At the quick push of a button, you'll be able to hear: the airline announcement, the kid who just walked into the room, the noise you thought may be the doorbell, etc. Next button push: turning the ambient sound feature off returns one to the much quieter world of simply having the earphones on. Standing directly next to a noisy dishwasher or clothes dryer in this mode turns those droning appliances into a steady and much more manageable hum. Next push: with the ANC on, though, the Yamaha - YH-E700A Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones ratchet that hum into a nearly inaudible hiss. Keep in mind, all of the notes above are with NO AUDIO PLAYING. Once you're actually listening to music, TV or movie, the background noises are gone completely as the Yamaha - YH-E700A Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones allow you to simply focus on your listening. I won't be able to test the Yamaha - YH-E700A Wireless Noise-Cancelling Headphones in a work from home conference call until the office opens back up in 2021, but I've no doubt the great performance will continue!

These headphones sound fantastic in my opinion. Comparing them to my Microsoft Surface noise cancelling headphones these offer a significant improvement in sound quality, in particular the bass these things put out. Everything is clear and distortion free across the entire volume range. Noise cancellation works great and offers an "ambient" sound mode if you need to be more aware of your surroundings or have a quick conversation. Even without noise cancellation enabled they offer great isolation from your surroundings. Extremely comfy headset to wear, even for me with my glasses on. Battery life is also superior to anything else I have used, lasting me days on end with noise cancellation enabled. Supports several "Hi-Res" audio specs both for when they are plugged in and via bluetooth supporting the qualcomm aptX adaptive audio format. Included case is nice, a little large, and the overall quality of the headphones is great from what I can tell they feel nice and solid. No touch controls, but it does have a few buttons enabling you to adjust volume, play/pause a track, answer a phone call, and adjust the ANC. In that aspect it is lacking compared to the Surface headphones as they have great touch control features in my opinion. However, I'd venture to say that most people looking at this particular headset would be more concerned with sound quality overall versus things like touch controls. When connected to a windows PC via Bluetooth you cannot adjust the sound level within windows, you have to use the volume button on the headphones. Not sure why that's the case but its a little inconvenient if you plan to use these on your PC frequently. Overall I look forward to using these headphones for many years to come and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to a friend looking for a high quality set of wireless ANC headphones.

These are very comfortable and I love the case that their packaged in. Perfect for in the house and actually around bed time when your in an ASMR mood. They connect easily to your phone via Bluetooth and the bass hums just right. No cons but know after about two hours you can feel the suction but they do eliminate outside noise. I wouldn’t recommend working out with them, maybe with the treadmill for 30 min. They came fully charged and these are of great quality.
