Ys VIII is one of the best RPGs available on the Switch, offering fast action, an intriguing setting, and a top-notch soundtrack. The graphics have been downgraded for the Switch in terms of textures and framerate, but portability helps make up for this downside.

This game is so underrated! It’s got a really interesting story and amazing gameplay. I’ve played this game more than, and enjoyed more than Breath of the wild even.

I have never heard of this game series before as I only buy games for my Nintendo systems. I saw a review on Youtube and gave it a try and WOW! I was blown away! It like Xenoblades, but with out the boring combat and endless grinding. I enjoyed this game a lot and finished it in about 70 hours of play, I am so happy I had a vacation this week. I recommend you try this if you are a Xenoblade or Zelda fan as it has elements that made me feel like both,

Ys VIII may not be for everyone, but I found it to be great for the newest addition to the series. Ys VIII throws you onto an uncharted island where you join other adventurers in the search of a way off the island. There are many different enemy types and the map of the world is HUGE! You collect items from the beasts as well as the landscape to build and enhance your weapons. Gameplay is action oriented and in real time, so you have to be alert. I have 40 hours of gameplay and have only uncovered 33 percent of the island, so expect a long adventure!

I love the soundtrack and game play of this game!! I put 20+ hrs in a few days and I can't stop playing!! JRPG fans must grab this one!!

I am an avid JRPG fan but never found the Ys series to be compelling — that is, until this entry. I actually wasn't planning on buying it, but it came so highly recommended that I couldn't pass it by. It has compelling enough gameplay and story to not devolve into feeling like such a slog as long RPGs can do. The one thing of note: this game originally started its development for a handheld console, so you'll find that the graphics, while fine, are not awe-inspiring.

Another incredible entry from NIS and the Y's Franchise! Portable no less on the Switch! Awesome graphics, story and more!

Lots of fun exploring an island, fighting wild beasts, and finding castaways.

This game is wonderful. If you like exploration in this game is for you. This game is not open world but it is section out into sizable chunks. If you like Metroid or Castlevania this has it similarities in that you find items to open up different areas in the world. The combat system is interesting and the item collection is interesting. The story is very hit or miss depending on what you like in your stories.

Great game! Keeps me hooked. There are a few frame rate drops every now and then, but nothing too major

Bought this for my daughter largely because several people had commented that if you liked playing BOTW and other Zelda games you had to give this a try. At first she wasn’t sure she was going to like it, but after getting past the first part, and then several hours later she said she understood the comparison even though it was different from BOTW. Overall 2 TU for this game - money well spent.

Works great, really fun game and combat. So far the music is also really nice

I'm really enjoying this game. In the beginning, it feels slow but as the plot advances, it becomes a snappy, satisfying action game. You can't get bored. The game introduces new mechanics as you progress in the game and the story is a wonderful epic journey. - It includes DLCs from PS4 version! - I liked the mini poster and collector cards included I simply couldn't put it down!

I actually beat this game. It was simple enough for me to get through and decently long at least for myself. Struggled a bit on some of the later boss and watched some videos of people beating it on a harder setting. There is replayability for those who want to revisit or do a harder difficulty but that probably isn't me.

Awesome game! Tons of fun, quick action. Perfect mobile Switch game.
