Love action RPG I’m glad that finally came to Switch, Nice history so far and if u like me that never played it before you will enjoy it!

Ys 8 was a surprising game to play but the story and gameplay make it definitely worth playing through till the end

While it's not 60fps like other versions, having this game in portable form -- for me anyway -- better ensures that I'll actually play it instead of having to be sitting in front of a TV or having to stream it over a network to a laptop or Vita. Plays great and is a worthy entry in the long-running Ys series.

I played originally on the vita and ps4 versions before snagging this copy. The ps vita handled admirably but couldnt help wanting better fps and graphics. The ps4 was by far the best in these categories but always felt it was made to be handheld. Now with the switch copy it seems to have found the perfect home

I have not had an rpg hook me in to its story so quickly in a while. I am still early in my playthrough but I am enjoying my time way more than I did with Octopath Traveler. The only real issue I've had is the framerate drops in handheld mode which are most noticeable with large monsters on screen.

pros - AMAZING soundtrack - Good cast of fun characters - Very tough, with plenty of difficulty options - Boss battles are top tier quality - Good length/value, old DLC is free cons - Graphics aren't that good, but the artstyle is at least serviceable - Port isn't bad, but could be better

A great game for Series veterans and newcomers along, for RPG, anime, and action/fantasy fans. While not the best version performance-wise, this is a treat to have in the Nintendo Switch library. Here’s hoping Falcom brings more adventures of Adol and other series to the platform.

I've never played an Y's games before but have heard alot about the series from friends. I decided to give this game a shot and am glad I did. It's a great hack and slash RPG with a good story and some exploring. I hope FALCOM brings more games to the Switch

Solid RPG story with an action based combat delivers a solid experience.

This game brings all that there is to love about the Ys game to the switch. The Switch version may be a little technically flawed in comparison to the PS4 version, however this plays fine and is still loads of fun.

This is an amazing game. It was first released on the PS4 and has found its way to the Switch. This is a great action- RPG. The story, characters and design are all amazing. A must buy for anyone who likes action-RPGs.

Action and fast paced rpg, not great visuals but really fun

When you play a Falcom game, you know you're playing a game that is made with a limited budget and has to cut corners here and there. Ys VIII is a fantastic JRPG with great gameplay and action, while the story takes a backseat. You play as Adol, exploring a huge island and trying to uncover what the mystery to this island is.

I’ve seen this game on PS4 but was pleasantly surprised to hear a Switch Port was in the works. On its own, it’s a fantastic game. Not without some nitpicking, it’s great to have the option to take it with you.

This game has such a fantastic story line to the point where I didn't want to put the controller down. Was actually very sad and emotional when it was over. Fantastic RPG.

This game may not look as good as other consoles, but being able to play this game on the go, makes it a must buy on the Switch. This game is huge and will take you 60 plus hours to complete and with the switch version you can play pretty much anywhere. Anyone who likes the Ys series will love this game.

Even though it's not the best version visually, the gameplay is still on point, and the visuals aren't terrible, actually because of the size of the screen it looks really good. I'm impressed.

When they say lacrimosa, they really ain’t kidding. It’s SO lacrimosa I almost lost complete control! Jeez Louise pumpkin squeeze folks, if you’re looking for a lacrimosa game then this IS it!

One of the crowning jewels of the famed Ys RPG series, Ys VIII is an unforgettable mix of action, drama, characters, and beauty. With a plot that starts strong and only grows grander and more expansive, the game has the strength to capture you for as long as you let it. Each character is given life and personality through their dialogue, roles, and story quests. The action mechanics of the game are simple enough not to be daunting but contain depth that allows the truly dedicated to hone their skills. All in all, Ys VIII is a stand-out title from a franchise that deserves its honored status.
