    Buyer Beware -Customer service will hang up on you

    Purchased during Christmas for my son. Because we live in Colorado and the weather was snowy and icy, we were unable to fly to aircraft until recently. We following instructions, we charged the battery according to the instructions and flew one time for about 10 min as it was getting late in the day. The next time we took it out the unit would not power back on. We called the manufacture, and they told is the product is under warranty however the battery is on a 30 day warranty and we have exceeded our 30 days window. I tried to plead with the rep that this unit was purchased brand new and never opened unit the weather was warm enough to fly. How can we as a customer be held to 30 day warranty on an items that was never opened and/or used. The warranty was expired prior to us being able to use the product due to Colorado weather. Had we taken it out ti fly in the snow, the warranty would have been void based on bad weather conditions. I requested a replacement battery as was denied y request and was told that I would need to pay full price for a replacement. I would never recommend this product to anyone interested and I can only base that decisions is based only on their horribly rude customer customer service as we've only flow the aircraft for less than 10 min total. -My teenage son begged us to buy this for him for Christmas and now it just sits in a box until we can afford to purchase another battery -in my heart, I they should do the right thing a send a replacement battery at no cost. Every opportunity I get I will do my best to update forms with feed back on the product and their customer support. I was in the store last week and was able to talk someone out of buying this because of the troubles we've experienced with the unit and their support..

    Defective drone that bestbuy won't touch

    I received this drone as a Christmas present and waited until a perfectly calm and sunny day to fly this drone for the first time. While this drone was new to me, flying them was not. After approximately 4 minutes of flying in the air and at about 111 feet in the air, the drone suddenly stopped running and fell from the sky. Needless to say, it was basically destroyed on impact. Now, Best Buy did NOT make the drone by any means, but when I took it to the local store just to have them look at it, the manager on duty said "we don't cover drones over $100 in value and you will have to contact the manufacturer" for service. The 2 Geek Squad Technicians working said that this drone (and other expensive ones like it) should land themselves if there are ever any problems, but the manager again said "no", and that's when I heard something that resonated with me...the manager stated "they would NOT return any drones that have been removed from original packaging." I'm sending the drone back to the manufacturer and after reading about their lack of customer service am not expecting much to be done,,, other than be out $800 for a defective drone. I don't blame Best Buy for the crash (unless it was damaged in shipment from their warehouse?), but I caution ANYONE buying from Best Buy and bestbuy.com that if you buy a drone,,, don't open the box unless you are willing to make it your own and non returnable.

    Terrible product

    The Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4k is a TERRIBLE drone. The camera connection to the controller is always pixelated and you can never get a constant stream of what the camera sees. Continually, it has a mind of its own. I was flying off the end of my dock and the controller screen went black, I lost control of the drone, and it decided to land in the water, and sank immediately. According to Yuneec's Warranty guide, this WILL NOT be covered. I am now left with a broken drone, major repair costs and/or the cost of a completely new drone. If it can even be fixed, I will NEVER have the piece of mind that the drone is safe and won't decide to land elsewhere, such as trees, cars, houses, or even a person. If you are in the market for a drone, DO NOT buy the Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4k, thinking you will save a few hundred dollars over a superior drone. Yuneec has a lot to be desired and the customer service is horrendous.

    I have had this drone for at least a year now, I have 3 batteries. They do not charge any longer I have only about 10 to 15 flights on the drone. I followed the specified battery charging for when it is not going to be used for an extended time. The battery shows it is charged on the controller I take off 2 seconds later it gives me a low battery alarm then BAM down comes the drone. I email for support they will get back to you in 1 to 3 days. I've been waiting a week and 1/2 so far have called and sat on hold for 1 hour 12 minutes and 36 seconds before the system disconnects me. I went out with friends who all own different brand drones It was so much fun to be able to sit and watch as they all flew their drones. I could go on and on but I hope if you do spend your money on a drone, that you do more research and buy a better brand with any kind of customer support.

    Don't waste your time or money

    I have 2 of these drones one I bought from Best Buy the other from Yuneec. Originally I had intended to purchase the Go Pro Karma but the salesman at BB talked me into the Q500 4k. The other I bought thinking would be used to cannibalize for parts. Both have the same issues. Poor connectivity for video, has a mind of its own & will do as it wants when it wants. In the 6 months since I bought the first one I have had to replace the complete airframe one one twice the other once due to crashes when it becomes unresponsive. Both have been sent in for service twice & it seems to be getting worse not better.

    Cheap product for expensive price

    This product was broke from the get go. The remote control was not working so i had to exchange it for a new one 2 days after purchased. The "new" drone was no better! After charging we were finally able to fly it. When the drone was about 2 feet off the ground ready to land, the propeller snapped and the drone went down causing the camera to break and ripped the wires in the camera. Now I'm not sure why a $900 done would do this..maybe if i had bought it at the dollar store..but i would never have expected this from something of that price! Of course Best Buy couldn't do anything so i have to try Get results now from the manufacturer...lol we'll see how that goes!

    Do Not Buy!!!

    The propeller design is terrible. I had it for 24 hours, and I that time I spent at least 2 hours reading and studying the manuals, and 2 flights. The first flight was good, easy to fly, but the second flight was the end of it. Once increasing speak after being airborne for one minute, I decided to fly about 50 feet in one direction at an altitude of 100 feet. During that movement, a propeller flew off, and the drone came crashing down. Customer service through yuneec is terrible and if you don't spend $200 ok geek squad, which I was not even offered, you will end up dealing with a stubborn company that doesn't back their customers up.

    I used my drone for awhile flying it over a lake taking videos and it was fine, until one day i got to close to a tree and it had a 20 foot free fall to concrete. I sent the drone directly to Yuneec, It was there for over a month before I got a quote to repair the drone. I called customer service multiple times trying to make sure that it would be taken care of. The customer service representatives have no information of where your drone is in line to be repaired and just tell you that they'll get to it eventually.

    Was purchased as present for xmas when box was opened at home found drone with with broken wires on camera masking tape message on drone saying scratched missing SD card .clearly this drone had been been flown and crashed then returned and sold as new again. recommend open the box before leaving store. just think the salesperson got it from wrong area in the back of the store this the first bad experience with best buy.I kept the drone did some upgrades flies like a champ

    Would be a great drone to purchase but if you live within 5 miles of any airport or so called no fly zone the drone will not allow the motors to even turn on I contacted yuneec today to see if there was a way to by pass it and I was told there is not and there will not be one coming out in the future so basically the thing will become a 900.00 dollar paper weight if you'd like one that can fly anytime and anywhere buy the DJI drone

    Just bought the Q500 4K bundle today from BB. It will be going back tomorrow. I won't even bother flying it. Flimsy, cheap, delicate feeling plastic EVERYWHERE. The steadygrip is a joke. Battery cover will not go back on without a fight. I'm actually shocked at how poor the quality of this package is. Exposed wires everywhere. Guess you get what you pay for.

    Purchased this product. Very little direction. Fell out of the sky on the first flight because the wiring was faulty between the battery and the product. Took more than 4 months to receive the repaired product and they tried to charge me for the repairs 5 separate times even though they told me it was covered under the warranty.

    After much anticipation I was very let down by this quadcopter. After 26 years in the RC hobby this quad was the biggest let-down yet. At 15 meters I had no control or response and the drone was dead set on returning to the controller and flew straight at my head. Barely missed me and hit a window about 10 yards away breaking 2 props.

    Loved the design of this drone, although a bit larger than the DJI drones. But unless you live far far from anything, it's just gonna sit on the ground. The screen on the remote is a definite plus. Also, price point is very. Ice, if you want 4K and don't want to spend so much.

    After a couple of flights the drone fell from the sky with no warning. Company was hard to reach. They finally replaced product After received product first flight up it malfunctioned again. Waste of money. Very disappointed.

    Crashed after the 1st 5 mins in flight. Was flying great when I got a warning on the controls engine failed it then dropped like a lead balloon.

    Bought the first one home and the charger didn't work for the hand control. Returned and got another but that time the drone wouldn't work. Both dead out of the box
