The tinted privacy screen made it impossible to see the screen; I only used it for a week before I threw it away. The installation tool complicated the process and applied the screen protector crookedly.

This screen protector broke after two days, it cracked with minimal use. Replaced it with a screen protector from Apple and have had it on the phone for about six weeks with no issues.

Easy Application and Good Privacy Protection

I have been using screen protectors on my iPhones for quite a while and, when possible, typically opt for a protector that also provides some level of privacy protection. This is the first screen protector I have seen that provides protection not only from horizontal prying (left and right of the screen), but vertical prying (top and bottom) as well. I was really looking forward to seeing just how well it works. To begin, installation was very easy. I have used some protectors in the past that were a pain to install and always seemed to have dust or bubbles under them. I did not have any of those problems with this protector. The application device is built into the packaging material for the protector, which was a little different from what I was expecting. (Usually, there is a separate plastic applicator that I have seen used in the past.) Still... While it was a little different given my experience, the applicator worked just fine and the screen protector installed without any problems. (I did use the included materials to clean the phone first. Along those lines, one of the things I really appreciated is that they included a full-size dust remover. Other companies have a dust removal sticker that is about the size of a half-dollar and those stickers are somewhat useless in my experience because they generate a static charge that pushes dust around. I cannot tell you how many times I thought I had all the dust removed only to find small specks stuck under the screen protector after the installation. This full-size dust sticker that covered the entire glass of the phone was really awesome. This is something all companies should include in their kits.) After the installation, the screen protector provided privacy from all angles, not just left-to-right. Such privacy screens seem to dim the brightness of the screen just a bit, which I suppose is just part of the price one pays for having that level of privacy, and this protector was no different. With that being said, that dimming effect was no worse than any other privacy screen protector I have used in the past. Thus far, I have been using the protector for about a month with no problems (no breaking or cracks). The privacy screening works great as well. I have used other competitor brands before and the full privacy protection (not just left-to-right), along with the inclusion of the full-size dust removal sticker, really took this one over the top for me. When it eventually comes time to replace the unit, I will definitely purchase another one from Zagg.

    Nice, But Dims the Screen

The Zagg 4-Way Privacy Screen Protector for iPhone 17 Pro Max is a very nice screen protector which offers 4-Way privacy, simple installation, good screen protection, and a lifetime warranty. One of my favorite things about Zagg products is the lifetime warranty. If the screen ever cracks or scratches, they'll send you a new one. It's one of the reasons I tend to stick to Zagg products when it comes to screen protectors. Installation of the screen protector was about as simple as it comes now-a-days. Although, I think I prefer the kind of applicators where you can see the whole process. This one is more of a cardboard box and you can't see the phone or screen protector when it's being applied. I pressed on the areas it said to press for as long as it said, and still, when I took the phone out of the box, it looked like the protector had only just begun to adhere to the phone. I ended up with some pretty gnarly bubbles as a result. I spent a good 10 minutes working them out, and was left with about 4 small stubborn bubble that I just couldn't get. However, to my surprise, over the next couple of days, those bubbles had completely disappeared. So overall, while I was a bit nervous about the installation process, it actually worked exactly as it was supposed to. Once on, the first thing I noticed was how dim it made the screen look. It's really quite noticeable and is taking some getting used to. I'm actually not 100% sure how I feel about it. The rest of the screen protector is great. It feels really nice, almost smoother than the original screen. It offers nice protection. And the privacy feature works great. If you're not staring directly head on at the screen, it really is completely black. Which actually had some unintended consequences. Like taking a selfie from above, not as easy. Sharing your phone screen with someone, takes a little more work. Just keep these types of things in mind if you're considering the privacy screen. These little issues I can learn to live with. The dimness however, I'm not so sure. There's a tiny sliver of the screen that isn't completely covered if you look at the phone from the side, and this is when you can see just how much the screen is actually dimmed. If you don't absolutely need the privacy feature, I would stick to non privacy protectors. However, if you really need/want the privacy feature, just keep in mind that it does significantly dim the screen.

New iPhone time also becomes new accessory time, and manufacturers have to keep coming up with something new just like phone manufacturers do. The Zagg 4 Way Privacy XTR Glass screen protector is something a bit novel. We've all seen privacy screen protectors before, however a lot of those previous gen products would provide good privacy in one axis, for example, off angle viewing to the side. The Zagg 4-Way provides privacy in all off-axis viewing scenarios - whether you're above, below, or looking to the side, the screen is effectively black unless you are looking straight on. This provides excellent privacy in public situations where other privacy screen protectors may have allowed those taller than you or maybe sitting above you a bit to see the contents of your screen. So far, durability has been great - no cracks, chips, or scractches that I can see. The image is also very clear through the screen protector. With all that being said, as good as the privacy protection is, that's not the real win here. The real win is the installation system - this is a walk off grand slam. There's a stiff cardboard application device that lines up the phone perfectly with the screen protector. You simply place the screen protector in the cardboard applicator, place your phone in, and pull down on the plastic strip that exposes the adhesive on the screen protector. Installation took about 15 seconds and I've never had a screen protector this straight or dust free - and never with this ease of installation. The other part I like is the installation applicator is made out of cardboard - no plastics that will end up in a landfill - this is completely recyclable. Though this is probably the best screen protector experience I've had since screen protectors became a must-have accessory, the one downside to this protector is it seems that you do give up some screen brightness in favor of the privacy protection. It's not a deal breaker, but I do find myself turning up the brightness more often - and with the new iPhone 17 Pro Max having a screen rated at 3,000 nits of brightness, it's definitely noticable. However, this would not prevent me from selecting this screen protector again.

The build quality of this screen protector is very high quality. The screen protector feels like it’s the same smooth material used on the screen of my Apple iPhone. It feels like it would be very durable and protect the screen really well (though I did not perform any drop tests). One of my regular complaints with screen protectors is how quickly they smudge, but in the case of this screen protector it remained pretty smudge free. Installation of the screen protector was extremely easy and straightforward (they call it PerfectFit). Included in the kit are tools to clean your screen which is really nice. They include a piece of cardboard that is designed to perfectly align your phone with the screen protector during install. It works really well, the install on my phone looked nearly perfectly aligned without any sort of real effort on my part. I will note, a sliver of the screen on each side was visible to me after install when I held the phone at an angle, not a dealbreaker for me but it may be something that bothers you. The privacy part of the screen works great. It features four way privacy which basically means viewing it from any angle means it wouldn’t be visible. In my testing, this works really well. My main complaints during my time using it I think are common complaints of having a privacy screen generally. First, there is an overall reduction in brightness with the screen protector installed. Second, trying to show content to anyone becomes more challenging due to the reduced angles it can be seen from. I think if you need or really want a privacy screen, this seems like a great option. Overall, this is a great screen protector with great privacy screen features.

I'm in airports and airplanes for a large part of my life. With that said, a privacy screen is not a luxury, but necessity. The ZAGG 4-Way Privacy XTR Glass Screen Protector for iPhone 17 Pro Max is very satisfying in this regard. The privacy angle works as claimed: viewed head-on and it is sharp bright, but from the side it will soon become totally black. So in those difficult situations when I am sandwiched between two nosy neighbors in the middle seat or any other seat on a plane, I dont have to twist my phone at an angle or worry about someone stealing glances over at my messages, e-mail and company communications. It gives me peace of mind to be analyzing sensitive documents or catching up on work between flights. That said, while the optical clarity and touch sensitivity are top-tier, this protector feels a bit less rugged than some of ZAGG’s other premium offerings The privacy layer adds a touch of thickness but does not seem to help much. I cracked the side simply using it as usual-certainly not from any drops, just regular handling and jostling around in my pocket and charging area of my car. It's not a deal-killer, but worth keeping in mind if you're hard on your equipment. For frequent travelers or business professionals who value confidentiality above all else, it's a fair exchange. But if you're looking for the most rugged protection you can get from danger of shocks, then there are probably stronger choices in ZAGG's range. In short: fantastic privacy, exceptional usability, moderate ruggedness .. YMMV.

Maybe I am a bit paranoid, but when out in public, or a crowded area, I am often concerned of others seeing what I am doing on my phone. I doubt my Instagram would be special or more interesting, but it just feels like someone is looking over my shoulder. So I got this privacy glass screen protector. It limits the angle of view, no matter if its in landscape or portrait view. Also, since its replacing my old screen protector at a premium, it is supposed to be stronger in terms of impact, scratch and edge protection. Installation was easy with the included guide and applicator. No more worrying about aligning, centering or pealing off film. Simply place the phone in the guide, pull on some covers and the glass is installed. I do suggest cleaning the phone properly and removing any smudges from the screen before application. The installation was perfect and suited my OCD need for being perfect, and straight ! The glass does seem better quality than the one I removed and I hope the edges will not chip as with my other screen protectors. Only time will tell. After the installation, I did notice that the screen was much 'dimmer' under the glass and the viewing angle was basically only straight onward. I tried turning up the brightness which helped, but I am sure will result in more battery consumption. I shall see how much I like this after awhile, but it do what it promises. Just with some costs in terms of brightness and viewing angle.

This is overall a pretty great screen protector for your iPhone. I was able to remove my old screen, clean it with the included cleaning supplies and install it within a couple of minutes. The included tools and installation kit does work really well. It also does what it says and provides really good 4-way privacy filtering from prying eyes. I've looked at it from all angles and can only see what's on the screen by looking directly at all. It has also so far survived several drops (with a case though) - but the screen was still protected. My phone also has had items dropped on it and it's done a great job overall of protecting the screen. No complaints there. What really separates it from the pack is the privacy filtering, it really does work really well in that regard. The only gap for me is that it doesn't fully reach to all the edges. I know this is by design and not an installation issues because it fits perfectly over the Dynamic Island and aligns really well there. However, I notice that light shows on all four sides near the edge, a very small amount, but enough to indicate it's not truly a perfect fit. This may be because of my case but I haven't had this issue before. It's minor but enough to remove one star for me though.

I have had plenty of screen protectors in the past and alot state they go on perfect but I always have one of the edges that overlaps to much. This one went on just right. Following the easy instructions it went on perfectly. I have installed others that their instructions were complicated and I missed a step and then had to redo and then later on the protector eventually came off. This is 2 steps and you are done. What I really like about this is the 4-way privacy XTR glass screen protector which I have never had the privacy protector in the past. This is really nice as you can really see the screen straight on but if you are on either side or any other angles you cannot see the phone is even on. It is a more thicker screen protector but I like that as some I feel are to thin and you drop you phone a few feet and it shatters but I feel this one will take more shock. This works great with the ZAGG Santa Cruz case I also got with this screen protector. I did put this in my pocket with my keys thinking I was going to see scratches but it didn't show any which I was very happy to see.
