I am very satisfied with this purchase. Previously had Logitech version for 1st iPad 12” which was pretty good. This model from Zagg (the solid company behind many of the Mobile device glass screen protectors) is very well conceived and can be configured many different ways. Rugged and detectable keyboard is great. A space is included for the new flat-sided Apple Pencil. Apple’s offering is considerably more than expensive with less features, function and protection. Recommend.
Opinion: I just wish these case manufacturers, both phone and tablet, could agree on some standard dimensions / thickness and create a low profile, universal Mount to put device on arm or stand. There are a lot of great cases like this deluxe one, but nothing that’s well thought out AND can accommodate a detachable mount. Get to work case makers! Listen to pro users.

I am particular about keyboards. I love the key travel on this better than the Apple or the Logitech. I love the typing angle and the palm rest. I love that the top case for the iPad can be used separately and provides a secure place for the Apple Pencil. I love that the stand that folds out from the back is sturdy and has unlimited viewing angles.
I only wish that the magnet holding the two parts together was stronger. But, even with that negative, this keyboard/case is wonderful, practical, and satisfying to use.

I bought another case for my iPad Pro 12.9 made by a different company, there was no keyboard component of it, but it was still $70. Total waste of $. I hated it-even tho magnet, pencil kept falling out, wouldn’t stand up, etc. I should have bought this case first. I really hated spending $149 on it, but it has really been worth it. The keyboard is magnetized to the rest of the case, so you can take it apart whenever you want, and just have the tablet. The stand is super rigid and sturdy, and holds the screen in place. There is absolutely no chance of it falling down or slipping. I was a little worried that the pencil wouldn’t be securely held, as it kept falling out of my previous case. That has not happened. The case has kind of a little rubber lip around the edge, that seems to hold it in along with the magnet.
I have had this second case for about 2 months now, and I love it! Also, it says you only have to charge the keyboard part once a year. Have only charged it the first initial time, so we will see. It doesn’t come with a charging cord, but it takes the Same usb-c cord as the iPad, so it all works out. Highly recommend

I wanted a protective case, a good & durable backlit keyboard, with a good spot for the Apple Pencil...I was basically looking to carry & use my iPad Pro as a kind of laptop substitute. This case has fit absolutely every need I have.
This case is heavy, and that may be a factor for some users.

Great Product - Too Heavy for Me

I have had this product for just over a week and traveled extensively with it. After a week I have to say that this case is very well built and everything fits perfectly. The keyboard works very well and holds a charge for hours. However, the case is simply too heavy for me to use for my purposes. I wanted to stop toting my 15" MacBook pro around and thought I would be able to shed some weight in my bag, but this case feels as heavy. Because of the weight I gave 4 stars, but if you are looking to replace your laptop and won't traveling or using it on the go and will use it more in one place without moving it too much this is a great case.

I like the case. Good keyboard, storage of pencil, protection, battery life. It is heavy. What I don't like is the delete key cover came off after about 2 months of use. Then after 4 months of use a seam on the flexible magnetic docking flap is splitting apart. Registered the device but currently having no joy in having it replaced. I have owned it for 5 months.

This is really a great quality product. The pencil holder is the best. I’ve had the Logitech versions of this product, and this one is more durable. The Logitech version breaks at the corners. This hasn’t happened on this one (yet). My only complaint is this is very heavy...a sacrifice for durability. This combo makes it heavier than a laptop. Battery life is verylong too!

Honestly, it's a great case for those of us that need the extra protection. The kickstand in the back is VERY stable. It needs to be, as this thing feels like a BRICK in my hand! Even without the keyboard, the protective case it snaps into weighs a freaking TON!
It's already heavy enough as-is with it being a 12.9" screen. Anything else is just overkill XD...
Overall, it is a very premium-feeling case that has me feeling confident enough to hurl this thing out a two-story window. The downside is that it is much heavier than expected, and the keyboard does not fold behind the screen (it only unclips, making it a bit of a nuisance for when I want to switch between the Apple pen and the keyboard).
I'll probably be switching to the BRYDGE keyboard. Even though it doesn't have a kickstand, I think it will be far more portable and a bit more functional to suit my needs (even if it isn't as beefed-up in the protection department).

I started with the Apple Keyboard Folio. It only attached to the IPad with magnets, and once when I picked it up by the keyboard, the IPad fell out, hit the floor then busted.
This Zagg Product actually encases the IPad. I never dropped the IPad while using this, but it felt sturdy. It is also quite heavy. It has it’s own Lithium battery in it to provide power, so that is where the weight comes from, but it is really heavy. The keyboard has some really awesome function buttons that work with the IPad. That was one of the reasons I really hated returning this keyboard/folio. The keyboard also detaches, which is an amazing option. However, the keyboard also detaches, which caused me problems. It was great to intentionally remove the keyboard, but it really was a problem when I didn’t want it to. It attaches with magnets, so it’s not truly secure. Overall, this is a great case and I would recommend it for those who are aware of the quirks.

This is the first Zagg product over the years that is a pretty big flop. I've owned a lot of their products, and this appeared to be a new and improved design for the 3rd Gen iPad Pro, with a hefty price tag to match (the most expensive Zagg product I've purchased.). Sadly this case has the potential to be a excellent product, but there are some major flaws that outweigh the benefits.
The case has a detachable magnetic keyboard that attached to the iPad portion of the case. There are two small locking tabs to align the case and magnets. The keyboard portion of the case is the main protector for the iPad screen when closed. The major problem is that the magnets are too weak. They do not have the strength needed to keep the two pieces of the case attached, resulting in the keyboard not staying attached. The magnets are so weak that simply picking up the unit which it is closed will dislodge the keyboard, causing the case to separate and each piece to fall off. If you can't catch both pieces when it separates, your best effort to save the iPad from hitting the ground is the only protection this case offers. You, the owner, must be on constant alert to make sure your $1000-2000 iPad is protected from damage after spending $200 on a case "designed" to protect it. Since the magnets can't hold it even marginally, even putting up the kickstand will dislodge the keyboard. The older design of this case was much beefier, and offered no stand as the case held the iPad with zero problems. The only solution so far is to use a large piece of velcro to wrap around the entire case to keep it from disconnecting either while holding it or in your backpack or bag. The case is also much thinner and not as thick and resilient as the older Rugged Book lines. Rarely do I pull this out of my bag and not find it in two pieces, with the iPad screen unprotected. The UAG case (which offered no protection from drops or screen damage other than a thin rubber flap) made it for 6 months before being replaced and the iPad was not damaged in that time. Since switching to this $200 case, I've had the screen protector broken 2 times (in less than 2 weeks.)
The positives are that the keyboard supports 2 bluetooth pairing options so it can be used with a phone as well. This is a nice feature that I give them credit for. Also, the Apple Pencil is nicely protected in a slot where it charges. When the case is closed, the pencil in not protected though. Zagg could have easily added a notch on the keyboard to allow the case to lock closed and protect the pencil.
Zagg had a good idea with the case, but a very poor implementation. If they were to fix this cases major flaws it would be worth the money. I don't recommend this case to anyone unless you iPad spends it's entire life on your desk. Otherwise, prepare to have your iPad damaged. The disappointment with Zagg on this case is stunning. To design a case of this cost that offers no protection is unlike them. It's a nice case, but it's only worth about $50-60 at the most given it's lack of protection. At the very least, Zagg should offer free replacement screen protectors (meaning ZERO cost to the end user, not "it's free but you pay for shipping") for the entire time you own this case. If you purchase this case, plan on ordering a replacement screen protector for your iPad from Zagg while you're at their site to register this product. By the time it arrives your current screen protector will most certainly be broken.
The case is nice, but if you want to have a protected iPad, you can buy other cases for half the price that offer vastly more protection. Until they redesign it and replace the failed units, save your money and put it towards a fund for repairing your iPad.

There are so many advantages of these vs the Apple’s smart keyboard. The only cons is that it is too heavy and bulky but being bulky means my device is really protected.
The keyboard is softer than Apple. I like the added keyboard shortcuts that I can press to switch between apps or go to home screen or lock it. It’s also nice to have play, pause, next, back, volume and mute keys when I am listening to music while I am working.
Different colors of keyboard backlights and adjustable brightness that Apple. Does not have.
As odd as it may seem, I also connect it to my iphone that helps me a lot with my carpal tunnel syndrome.
This is also better when I need to do some work in the car as it is sturdier than Apple.

I really like this case and keyboard. It has bigger letters and it lights up around the keys. The case was a little hard to snap around the iPad. Had to really work it into place. It seem to protect the iPad good. I think it was a little pricey but I think it’s worth it now. Nicely made product.

Once again ZAGG has done a beautiful job of putting together form and function with their Rugged Book Go Keyboard and Folio Case for the Apple iPad Pro 12.9” unit. I love the fact that the keyboard is easily detachable and that the keys have a real solid desktop feel to them. Of course it’s all about protection and this ZAGG keyboard and folio does just that with it tight fit and corner protection. The adjustable back is sweet, allowing you a full range of screen set up including vertical as well! I give it 5 Stars!

You would think this was made specifically by Apple. It’s very compatible and works great. I have the newest iPad Pro and this actually makes my pro look better than the actual Apple case you can buy. And you can type with the keyboard detached. Highly recommend. Price is worth it.
