Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the keyboard quality, ease of use, and long battery life as significant strengths of the Slim Book Go Keyboard Folio Case. Many appreciate the protection it offers for their iPad Pro and the convenient Apple Pencil storage. However, some users find the case to be heavy and have reported issues with the hinge durability. A few also mention the price point as a potential drawback.

    Great case, but hinge broke

The design is. Great. I have had this case 2 months and the back plastic that covers the hinge that holds the tablet up when using in ‘desktop mode’ broke. Seems to be a manufacture defect. Best Buy can’t help since it’s been 2 months, so I’m checking with Zagg. Hopefully they will replace it. If the hinge hadn’t broke, would give it a 4 star. Only improvement could be that the keyboard be powered by the smart connector. It has to be charged by usb. Great case thought. I probably just got a dud.

I looked and tried on several cases including the Apple and Logitech cases and I found this one to be the most functional of them all. The case protects the Apple Pencil, weather it's in the charging bay or the storage location above the keyboard. You can close the keyboard on the screen with the pencil in the storage bay that is located just above the function keys on the keyboard. You can remove the keyboard, rotate it around with the keys facing the back of the iPad when using the iPad in tablet mode. It would be nice if the magnet holding the keyboard in place were just a bit stronger but it still works. The only drawback is you must charge the keyboard separately, but it can use the same charger and cable as the iPad Pro. (Keyboard/case does not come with charger or cable).

I've had this case for almost 3 months. The hinges broke on it the other day without warning. It wasn't dropped or anything like that. I just opened it and heard it cracking. Zagg has had a long standing issue with the durability of their keyboard hinges. Thankfully, I registered it with Zagg, so they are sending me a replacement. Make sure that you do the same if you purchase this! Outside of the hinge breaking, I found this case to be pretty decent. Also, the keyboard has to be charged more often than I expected. There is little to no warning when it is going low on the battery.

Read all the reviews of the hinge that props up the iPad cracking... and took a chance anyway because it was a deal of the day. The hinge was cracked straight out of the box. Planning on returning it ASAP

I have had this Zagg SlimBook for my iPad Pro for less than a month and the stand part of where the iPad is held upright, the hinges, is already broken. My iPad will no longer stand upright. I have NEVER dropped it. I am not sure if it is caused from use or not. Seems like it’s cheap plastic protecting my very expensive iPad Pro. Not impressed, Zagg.

    A Good Substitute

I usually spend an obscene amount of time researching products before buying them, especially when it comes to tech and accessories for said tech. I spent nearly 2 years in research limbo on wether or not to spend the money on an iPad. When I finally decided to pull the trigger on the 2018 IPad Pro, I knew that in order to optimize its full power I needed to get a solid keyboard. -The Good Apples folio keyboard is simply an outrageous price for a keyboard that offers limited functionality and protection for a truly incredible iPad Pro model. I knew that I wanted keyboard shortcuts (check plus) and I knew that I wanted backlit keys for work at night (check plus.) I also would prefer to keep my $1000 device safe from any falls it might unfortunately take (check plus) which apparently isn’t important to apple considering there folio case is flimsy, awkward, and disconnects from the iPad regularly. In addition to having those features, the slim book go offers a satisfying typing experience, double device Bluetooth capability, and a 2 year battery life! -The Bad I only have two complaints with the slim book go. The first is that the top half of the case that the iPad gets set into is a little bit too bulky for my taste. I like that it provides adequate protection, but it also adds about a full pound to your handling experience. The second thing that I am not super thrilled about is the additional cut out location for the Apple Pencil at the base of the iPad case. It is clunky and I think unnecessary, not to mention aesthetically incoherent. The case already provides an opening at the top of the iPad for the magnetic capabilities of the pencil, so why ruin the aesthetic appeal by adding an additional storing unit for the pencil? Either way, the keyboard is great, the shortcuts are great, the battery life is great, the backlit keys are great, and the price is not hateful enough to be able to complain about what you got. I like it and am typing on it right now. -ToMacOrNotToMac

+ I like the feel of the keys +seems to pair easily +can pair two devices and I've had phone and iPad paired at once, it is easy to toggle +stand is easily adjustable and sturdy with a wide range of motion (flat to vertical with no increments, smooth motion) +pen charge area is accessible closed ++pen has a secure storage area for transport +long battery life +detachable keyboard if you don't want to use it - it is kind of heavy but it is understandable with the long battery life -detachable keyboard has come free at times I didn't want it to but it is magnetic and quick to reattach

got this for my ipad pro 11". the keyboard attaches magnetically. seems stronger than the apple keyboard (which stopped attaching to my previous ipad pro). been 2 months, so can't speak to how it will hold up long term. the keyboard works great - keys are satisfying to click/type on (much better than the applie keyboard). it does add a little weight to the ipad, but also adds protection. lost a star because not sure that extra inch or so for the pencil holder is worth the added weight and bulk on the keyboard case overall since the pencil attaches to the ipad.

Love Zagg keyboard cases but this one falls a bit short. The keys in the keyboard feel great, backlit, great battery, great all over protection, and a safe place for the Apple Pencil when the case is closed but that kickstand on the back is a nuisance. Stiff hinges and fear breakage, plus can’t use on my lap. Must be used on a sturdy surface.

It’s kind of rugged. The keyboard is nice to type on and you can change the color of the backlight. The Pencil holder comes in handy. But, there is no magnetic close. The keyboard just falls open when I try to pick it up or move it. It’s rather annoying. I also really, really, really wish it was a Smart Keyboard. I don’t know why there aren’t any Smart Keyboards other than Apple. It’s pretty good for the price but the magnetic close thing is a huge missed opportunity.

I will start with how much I like the keyboard. I can’t type real well but this keyboard is a pleasure to use. The positive touch of the keys gives feedback that you actually depressed it. The case is kinda big but being that size, it allows for an off charger spot for you pencil. There are a couple things I would improve however. The magnets that hold the keyboard on aren’t very strong. They detach quite easily. The other thing is when you don’t have the pencil in the charging spot, the edge of the case is quite sharp. This makes it in comfortable to hold for normal use. Overall I like it quite well!

Mainly because the keyboard is fine, and probably worth the $50 vs other keyboard only options. I bought mine when it was at full price. Like many of them the hinge broke, even being gentle with it as I knew about the risk before buying. Additionally, the plastic strip the hides the magnets in the keyboard flange that attaches it to the case on the iPad separated. Lastly, not a defect but a design flaw. The speakers have a sound port type designed to direct sound at you. I’ve had cases with that feature before and they worked great, actually improved the sound. On the iPad Pro, not so much. Your head position is critical with this case, or sound channels may sound reversed and slightly less full. I think it has more to do with how Apple tuned the sound system on the iPad Pro (11&12.9) than the case itself (to be fair), and it doesn’t play well with sound ports. I still use the keyboard, I Cut the keyboard hinge off flush with corners and threw the case part away... I don’t even be bothered trying to get it replaced under warranty :/ So, I would recommend it ‘only’ if your looking for a detached keyboard for your device. That’s said there are smaller options out there if size matters. This one is nice has it features, backlit keys, dual blue pairing, and the palm rest helps stabilize it on your lap if your using it in couch potato mode ;)

I have several cases and covers for the iPad over the years. All have been ok, and some as much as I liked would then break and not be easily replaced. So I took a chance on this one, which is a full keyboard but I really like the various colors available to meet my moods. Pairs very easily, and the charge for me is months long before I need to recharge. I do like the detachable keyboard but still have the stand which is separate from the keyboard. Very well constructed and rugged for the day to day abuse.

Keyboard is great on the go, back lit keys make it easier at night to see the keys. Battery lasts super long time before I have to charge it. Months to be exact! Easy to connect to my iPad and had a rugged case that I don’t have to worry about dropping my iPad! Kick stand in the back makes it easy to stand up and watch movies or to get work done. I also like the little notch I can out my Apple Pencil in so I dont lose it!

I bought this because it was relatively much less compared to other keyboards. I like that it has pen grove to keep the pen safe and concealed when closed. Key strokes are nice and crisp better than Apple keyboard experience. I like the kickstand as it allows me to use it to attach on back of Seat while commuting in the Bus using velcro. The only thing is the outer fabric was not durable and it torn in first few days, I thought of returning it but I didn't had anything better to meet my needs mentioned, So I went to art store bought a leather piece and glued it to the outside giving a leather feel and making it long lasting.

I’ve always liked Zagg products and have been waiting for this keyboard folio to come out. It is not as clunky as the Rugged Book pro is. The keys on the keyboard feel good to the touch and responsiveness is spot on. The detachable keyboard is nice also. Easy to use while on a plane or in the home. Only suggestion would be to manufactured is to have the magnets be a little bit more powerful. Sometimes the keyboard will detach when I don’t want it to. But that’s not a real deal breaker.

This is a sturdy 2 part keyboard case for the iPad Pro 11, original version only. It does not fit the 2020 version of iPad Pro 11 because the camera cutout shape has changed. The keyboard attaches to the tablet portion of the case magnetically. The keys feel substantial and operate smoothly. Since there is no version of this case that fits the 2020 iPad as of this writing, you can enlarge the camera opening with a rotary tool but potentially void the warranty.
