Perfect for a larger smartphone OR lighter DSLR

All of these need a little bit of time to properly balance. If you have a really large smart phone, this will be a good option for a large screen smart from like the current gen of samsung galaxy note series and can also handle the lighter side of DSLR's. If that range is where you sit, like me, look no further.

The Almost Perfect Zhiyun Crane M2

The Zhiyun Crane M2 is one of those perfect hard to find, smaller, yet powerful stabilizer. Let me explain. Many of us have smartphones. I mean BIG, oversized smartphones. Unfortunately most small stabilizers can't handle the weight. Some of us have smaller APS-C Mirrorless cameras or action cameras. Unfortunately most smaller APS-C cameras lack good stabilization or don't have it at all. That's where the Zhiyun M2 comes in. Its not big. It'll handle larger smartphones and smaller mirrorless cameras and action cameras with ease. It's rated for payloads between 130-720g (.28-1.5 lbs) This range covers most larger smartphones, action and mirrorless cameras. If you have an compatible device, Zhiyun even has an App that will also let you control your camera or smartphone too. It's almost a perfect gimbal stabilizer. Good ergonomics, good battery performance, good features, All for a reasonable price. If you want to take your video stabilization to the next level, get the Zhiyun Crane M2. It's available at your local Best Buy for same as internet pricing.

After we figured out how to find the correct gimbal in the set up everything has been great. Got this for my wife who has a trembling issue with her wrist. She loves it. No more shaky pictures. We did get this on sale for $150 which helped me make the decision to purchase this one. I was not sorry. Thank you.

I am using this with my Sony RX100 VII. I must say that setup was a bit more complex that I thought for a beginner. My suggestion is to watch their video tutorial along with the ones on YouTube. Once you get the hang of it, it is fairly easy. Works well with my Sony. Gives good stabilization. Still have much to learn about actually using it.

Zhiyun makes solid gimbals for DSLRs such as the flagship Crane series. I was hoping that the Crane M2 would follow its larger cousins' footsteps and be just as functional for my Sony ZV1. In short, the design and performance was lackluster with the ZV1, which is within the size and weight of what the Crane M2 was marketed for. Balancing was a pain as the plate for mirrorless cameras had very rough balancing. No quick release for the camera itself. Once balanced decently enough and the unit is calibrated, it operates like any other Zhiyun Crane... however it's not able to keep itself from getting jitters while walking. So the motors are pretty weak. All in all, it would be a solid choice for smartphones but is a weak choice for point and shoots/ mirrorless camerass

This is an amazing, smooth stabilizer, too bad when I came home it didn’t fit my dslr. I know this is something one must know before buying, but the store rep that sold me this item told me that this item could hold my camera. NOT! Other than that it is super smooth, excellent quality.

I have been looking for a travel stabilizer for a while and the Crane-M2 is perfect! It works perfectly with my Canon M50, and my son used it on his iPhone XR. He was as impressed as I was. I love the fact that I can lock the balance settings so that when I mount it the next time, I don't need to balance it again. I also like that it is small enough to put in my purse and it's not too heavy or bulky. It includes so many great features for the money. I am super happy with my Crane-M2 and highly recommend it. It’s a great price and definitely worth the money.

This is the only gimbal I have used but it is easy to operate. Connects well to the app used to control it. Handles my Lumix G7 without issue. When I had a problem with the trigger on it. Zhiyun handled the return and repair promptly and it's been used for a number of video shoots since then.

Good product but I returned it after trying all its functions. It's easy to use just didn't like the fact that I had to balance which took me forever to do. Operator error. If you have a point and shoot camera it's got to be lightweight and for an action camera you need to purchase a separate plate. Still a good buy.

Great gimbal for ultra-smooth video with tones of extra features. I am using it with a Sony ZV-1 and am impressed with the performance. Once the camera is balanced, it is easy to remove with the quick release and transition to handheld if needed.

I use this with my iPhone 12 Pro Max and it work great. It takes some time to get use to the controls. Initial setup was hard at first but after doing a search on YouTube I was able to understand the setup. Still requires a lot of practice for great shots.

I've been testing all the features and capabilities of this gimbal for the past couple days, and it works really well. It tracks nicely, is very smooth and responsive. There is one crazy issue though, apparently there is a specific issue where if you have any of the Galaxy S10 series phones and are trying to connect the Wifi on the gimbal to your GoPro Hero 8, it will never work. It always fails. I tried using a friends iPhone and it connected just fine. So, there has to be something wrong with the ZY Play app itself, as I've seen several reviews of people with Android phones connecting just fine. Those with S10 series all seem to have the issue.

    Great gimbal for hobbyists

In rating this gimbal, you need to consider who this is for. A professional or otherwise serious videographer will almost certainly choose a stronger, more robust gimbal for their work. This gimbal is quite limited in its payload, however for a hobbyist, this will be outweighed by the convenience of its extremely small size. Nearly all other gimbals out there require special transport, and attract attention to the user. The M2 however can be stuffed into a bag, and is indistinguishable from cell phone gimbals that tourists use. Controls are simple, and the design seems quite intelligent. Performance is not quite as smooth as I've seen from larger gimbals, but again, its all about trade offs.

Bought this to use with my Sony ZV-1, and it works great! Has no issue handling a light camera like that at all. Very easy and quick to balance. It’s all plastic and the handle does feel a little cheap for this price, but have had no issues.
