This modem setup and worked well with our manufacturers communication software. Standard installation was all that was needed to work properly the first time.

I needed an external modem for my new Lenovo laptop as I am on dialup internet. This was the only one I could find. It works well for connecting to the internet but the program for allowing a phone call to come thru does not work as easily as I would like. I do have caller id on my landline but this feature does not show on my laptop when a call comes in.

I recently purchased a new pc for my parents, and discovered they dont have built in modems anymore. I guess with most having high speed connections, there's not much need for a dialup modem. Following the directions, I installed the model and got my parent Juno account configured and now my parents have their internet access back. it's amazing how modems like everything has shrunk to the size they are compared to what they used to be.

Installation was simple. Had to check to CD user guide to discover that it has automatic call waiting feature so you don't need to insert the cancel call waiting code at the beginning of the dial string. Sent a 20 page fax in 1/2 hour and paid for the modem compared to business center charges.

Needed a fax modem for desktop pc. Did some research and found this one at Best Buy. It's a USB external modem which makes for an easy install. Works fine and was on sale. Made this purchase even better.

Needed a dial up modem to connect to a gate entry controller. This item works well and as expected.

It works! I never had a problem with it for the time I used it. Some of these as I understand from other brands don't work so well.

It is just like using a wireless usb stick. It follows the similar paths as to setup, but as for function they are very different, of course, we use these for communication to the state for certain things.

The Zoom - 56K V.92 USB Mini External Data/Fax Modem is pretty much as described on the BestBuy web site. I bought it mainly for those times I need FAX capability on my laptop, and it is very useful for this purpose. The modem seems to function well using Windows 7's on-board FAX utilities, as well as the FAX function of my Lexmark all-in-one printer. However I did have a small issue when installing the proprietary software which was packaged with the modem: The various installation screens did not match what was shown in the documentation; indeed, I had to make a second attempt before a successful installation was accomplished. In fairness to the manufacturer, I have noticed that W7 prefers programs built by Bill Gates, and will often try to reject others' software. The modem does what I bought it to do, and I find it to be a good value for the price I paid. As always, BestBuy's service was nonpareil, and this is certainly was a satisfactory purchase in my opinion. I can recommend the Zoom - 56K V.92 USB Mini External Data/Fax Modem with confidence. It is a reliable way to FAX or connect to the internet, it is easy to connect and to use and it behaves as expected. In short, this product functions as described, and so far, it has not disappointed me.
