The instructions say it's very easy to install but it was not so easy with Win 8. You never know that it actually installed until you reboot your computer and it actually works.

I purchased this to work with my new Dell 27" AIO desktop. I receive too many junk faxes and prefer to use my PC to preview incoming faxes. The modem did not work correctly. I contacted Zoom and they told me it was a Windows 8.1 issue with Windows Fax and Scan. They recommended buying Essential Fax and I would have no problems. WRONG! It worked no better. I returned the product and will find another USB Modem.

Works great to fax out from my home computer when I need to do so.

IT WAS HARD TO SET UP ON THE LAP-TOP I WAS TRYING INSTALL IT ON.

poor nothing but trouble it disconnected house phone not allowing to receive calls returned and bought a regular fax.

I had written a bit longer review but this website froze. I will say this modem doesn't work.

Shuts down and have to go to charms and reconnect.

After following the instructions and installing the device on my computer, it did NOT work. I called "Zoom", Verizon, and MSN and no one could explain to me why the modem is not working. I tried everything and in the end, I got WIFI instead. Not worth the frustration. Lost $34.00 on this piece of junk.

called mfg, guy said it was old tech, probably not going to work for what I was trying to do, he did not know anything and had to hold over 2 hours

Read reviews on this item,with alot of complaints noted for windows 7. I had bought a Dell, All in One Computer with Windows 7, only to find out that there is no longer a "phone" jack on the computer, as found on computer towers. So I ordered this product, hoping that they had perfected the problem for WIndows 7. I put the CD in, followed the instructions, plugged the fax plug in, and sent and received a fax in less than 2 minutes!! Apparently, the windows 7 glitch is fixed! Plus, since I have an all in one screen, this plug is small, and discreet,and cant be seen at all!!!! I would HIGHLY recommend this product to anyone. Can also be used for a laptop, if that is your only computer, or when you travel and have to fax.
