    in the instructions reference is made to a sim card to insert before operation and I don't ha ve one, so until I get the card to insert I can't start it up.

    The cover to the battery compartment has broken already from normal use. This is a very thin, cheap plastic construction. Now I have a rubber band holding it in place. For the price of this device, I would expect something better. You also can't leave the batteries in it when it's not in use because the device drains them so fast. You absolutely need rechargeable batteries. You'll find this out when the batteries they include with the recorder die so quickly. If I had known these things, I wouldn't have bought it. So far, the sound quality is OK.

    I bought this to record my upstairs neighbor stomping above my head. Unfortunately, it wasn't sensitive enough to pick it up the noise. Ended up returning it.

    This does not have the power that you want from a small handheld Recorder. The H4n is a bit more expensive and it shows.

    this thing has already destroyed 2 sd cards. sd card is extremely hard to remove without fingernails.It won't connect to my brand new Mac book pro through usb. sound quality is not that good. bundled software is a joke. should retail closer to 20 or 30 bucks.
