Premium feel of the handset and speakers great, but the battery is dismal. I am a very light user and it just barely makes it through the day! I will be returning and paying the restocking fee.

Bought this for 199.99 from BestBuy...... Used it with the Tracfone Bring Your own Phone Plan....did this because, I just do not make a lot of phone calls, so it cost less than $8 per month.....use it a lot for Wifi.....have used it for a hotspot when the cable went out during a storm.... Love the Gorilla Glass 3....threw my keys in the same pocket as the phone, and didn't realize it until hours later.....no scratches at all..... Super Amoled screen is great for streaming movies..... 3GB of memory is more than enough....have not seen the lag times with multiple screens open, though I constantly clear the cache on my phone... Updated phone to 7.0, and have had no problems and like using the split screen feature..... Audio is unbelievable when compared to most other phones....the dual front facing stereo speakers deliver a sound that isn't tinny and low volume like most single speaker phones, especially the ones that are on the back.... The 5.2" screen is not too big and not too small....I used the protective clear sleeve that came with my phone, and have dropped it several times with no problems.....but any cell phone is easily knocked out of your hand, and I recommend a ring to attach to the back of your case for better security for you hand..... Reason for 4 stars? Well, battery for one...If you leave your Wifi on constantly and are in full color mode, and do any streaming, you will be lucky to get a day out of it....fortunately it does have a quick charge feature.....What I do is put the phone in ultra power saving mode....this makes the screen grey scale...I also keep Wifi and Bluetooth off, turning them on only when needed....doing this, I can go a couple days before recharging......when I want to look at pics in color, I just turn the ultra power saver off.... The other is, the phone does not come with dual ac wifi.....it just has the lower speed 2.5 band......which is ok, if you have a good wifi setup....unfortunately, a lot of hotspots are under 10MBPS, and it makes streaming from those sources a little difficult with break ups.... Finally, the camera......like most phone cameras, if you have plenty of light, the pics are great, especially this 16MP camera with plenty of light.......however in dim light, even with a flash, the pics tend to get grainy.....but like I say, this is kind of normal, for cameras in this price range......If you want a high end camera, you basically need to spend almost 3X's the price.....But when I am doing some serious picture taking, I just bring my Canon, take great shots, and then transfer them via wifi to my phone to send out immediately in email or texting....

Stopped working in 5 minutes. The software crashed completely. It was boosting itself about 15 times until it made it to the Android menu which allowed me to shut it down. Be aware! This type of reviews is also on Amazon. I bought the Asus Maxx 4 and I am extremely happy with it.

before doing the proper review, you must know the recent selling value, built quality, and overall performance, otherwise the review is very unfair. I am not going to say the same thing that everyone already said. This phone is per very close head to head with Samsung Galaxy S6 or even S7. I am talking about overall quality. the size is similar, built quality is very close, features are comparable, screen is FROM Samsung. yet, you are paying only $200 because of the brand. A lot of people praised MOTO G but G is made out of ALL PLASTIC, this is ALL ALUMINUM. Fast charger is included and 3.0 does very good.

Great value for midrange+ Android device

The hyper-fragmented Android market offers users lots of options, with little differentiation. I'm glad to see Chinese manufacturer ZTE explore ways to maximize features and minimize the total device cost - the ZTE Axon 7 mini is a fine example of that focus. With specs pared down from its similarly-named (and barely larger) sibling device, the device packs a lot of style and quality into a relatively low-priced package. The exterior design is ultra clean and all metal, with minimal bezels and a look that echoes HTC's best. The Axon 7 mini is hardly a small phone, but in a market dominated by big displays, a 5.3" phone seems compact. But it's not the size that counts - it's what's inside and that's where ZTE's product shines. It's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 610 chip; while underwhelming compared to more bleeding edge processors, it's more than adequate for everyday users who don't veer into gaming or heavy media editing. 3GB of RAM is more than most midrange phones offer and the mini has 32GB of storage, which you can augment with a microSD card up to 256GB. In other words, plenty of room to download lots of apps and media. It also has an NFC chip enabling Android Pay and beam. The screen is very sharp, color-rich, and responsive as it drives the custom MiFavor flavor of Android 6. The UX is certainly not as snappy and smooth as an elite Android device such as the Galaxy S7 or Pixel, but at less than half the price, the tradeoff is easy to make. One of the Axon 7 mini's best strengths is audio. It has a dedicated Dolby DAC chip and killer, dual, front-facing speakers - I found the audio experience better than iPhone 6 and the Moto X Pure Edition, two devices I've recently sampled. Combined with the hefty storage, the Axon 7 becomes a true iPod replacement - no streaming required. Now for a few pans: The MiFavor overlay is not terribly intrusive, but I wish ZTE stuck with a more Nexus-like experience using the core Google apps, rather than including more homebrewed variants that won't be updated frequently. The bit of lag in app launch and UX speed is likely due to the OS, rather than the hardware. Hardcore mobile gamers should also consider a more powerful option; the nearly 3-year old Injustice: Gods Among Us was incredibly slow on the Axon 7 mini. The 16 MP rear camera takes adequate photos, but it's slow and the results won't stack up to the quality bar set by the Sony Xperia, iPhone, and Samsung Galaxy photo sensors. The 8MP selfie camera is rather average, too. I highly recommend the Axon 7 mini above its competitors in the midrange Android market. If you have the extra resources, spring for its snappier, more powerful big brother, but this device will not disappoint most Android aficionados on a budget.

Picked it up for a great price at $199 on Blk Friday. Best bang for buck phone I've had next to Alcatel Idol 3 5.5. Here why I gave it 4/5. -HD screen is awesome -Thin sleek phone feels good in the pockets, not bulky at all. -Fast processor -Reception is amazing...so far -Front facing speakers loud. -Minimal bloat ware -Daily updated Lock Screen Wall paper is pretty cool. -Battery Charges fast! 10%-full in less than an hour. The only down fall of this phone is that is the Battery life. But if your not on your phone much then it should not matter to you.

This phone is excellent works on ATT GSM network great. Does not drop calls. Software is good easy to use. Works nice on my home network 5 band has long range and processor is fast memory is not over tasked. The display is wonderful. The camera is great and I don't buy cell phone for the cameras, it handles all I can throw at it and it does not disappoint. I work in IT and have been using Android since it came out after old windows mobile. I would recommend this phone to anyone that love Android and who wants to use it out the box or tweak extra settings. This is not a phone for just being a follower of the latest trends.

I purchased the bigger axon before Christmas. Good phone. When I saw this on sale for 199 I decided to buy and compare. Save your money and buy mini. No brainer at half cost. Excellent hardware and very good speakers. Screen is nice and getting a 2 year warranty is impressive. I use on T-Mobile and it works well. Only feature I wish it had was Wi-Fi calling ability. A decent camera and NFC are nice features at this price point. Overall a very nice phone. Comes with a clear skin also. Battery is OK but charges very quickly with included fast charger. For 200.00 this phone is hard to beat with all things considered.

    Dolby Atmos!!!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Bought this phone a year ago as an impulse buy based on pricing and reviews. I'll keep it short as most other reviews have already done a great job at pointing all the great features of this phone. First and foremost and not emphasized enough is the fact that ZTE has licensed Dolby Atmos, that's right, the all new and mighty Dolby Atmos on this phone!! That's a huge deal to me as the combination of great stereo speakers and Atmos make for an unprecedented experience on a phone while watching movies, documentaries, and even YouTube videos. Absolutely phenomenal experience even at low volume. A game changer of sort. Absolutely love it and hoping they keep this implemented on their new phones. As for the rest, dual SIM, TMobile Wifi calling, band 12, plenty enough memory that can be increased by using a memory card, good camera with full manual controls available, very good battery life, fast charging, outstanding OLED display, fingerprint scanner, NFC, good mid-range processor, great design from the BMW design team, metal body, super durable (2 very very nasty drops and not a scratch) , 2 years warranty, and extremely important to me are the Android and security updates that ZTE has provided in a timely manner, as the phone is running 7.1.1 and mind you most phones are not running past 7.0! The absolute best value by far, for an Android phone that can be had today, period!!!

Specs hard to believe for $199.........

I am a Tracfone user....but specs on Tracfones leave much to be desired, unless you want to spend over $600 for an S7...... The sound for Pandora/Amazon Prime songs is great......my friends use an external speaker for their phones, not necessary with this phone.... 32GB/3GB is more than sufficient.......Gorilla 4 glass....1080P Amoled screen is great...16MB/8MB takes great pictures with good lighting......I go to manual mode to get better pictures for lower light....fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, gyro, compass makes in work great for VR videos....Dual SIM...... Only knock? Battery life.......but by switching to battery saver, when not in use, makes up for the battery's shortcomings......but,.it should have had a larger battery.......

Great little phone. Rock solid in terms of reception, great battery life. The screen, while only 1080p, is crisp and vibrant. Speakers are really nice. Build quality is superb. For the reviewers giving this phone a false 1 star rating, it's not the products fault. The compatibility is clearly listed on the product details. I don't quite understand why you feel the need to bash a phone when it comes as advertised. *shrug*

I don't know what people want from phones because i red couple of bad reviews. First of all you can't beat this price 199, second everything works perfect if you are normal user and not expecting to have gaming PC in your phone, third battery is more than enough for all day use if you have at least anything to do during the day except adults site, candy crush saga, and Facebook, and fourth device looks amazing and feel premium in hands because of metal body. My full support to anyone who is thinking to buy this phone, you will not regret.

Great reception! GSM and CDMA! 15 LTE Bands!

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Great reception. Supports GSM and CDMA which is a rare find. It also supports 15 LTE frequency bands. All of the bands needed for AT&T, T-Mobile and others. I have property in a remote location and I've never been able to get a cell signal until I purchased this phone. I'm now able to get a strong LTE data single from a cell tower 25 miles away. I still don't get a voice signal because it uses GSM that doesn't have the same range. I had a Samsung phone before this one and it supported the same LTE band but it didn't get any signal at all. The only down side of this phone is the lack of physical buttons for home and back. I really miss those.

Great phone, with a great ZTE warranty

After doing my research into the current offerings of unlocked phones, I had narrowed it down to the Huawei Honor 8, and the ZTE Axon 7 mini (The 7 was just a bit too large for me, as I was coming from a 5.5" device and just wasn't comfortable.). The audio prowess of the 7 mini is definitely a huge plus. Dolby Atmos sound, and I can actually listen to a podcast while I am in the shower. And the sound is clear, not just loud. The screen is very bright, I run it near the bottom of the scale in the house. The initial reviews and opinions on the Axon 7 mentioned the subject of poor wifi and cellular reception. My device was purchased 1/2/17, and I have the most recent update, and I have found my reception is fine, comparable to my Oppo Find 7a, which I had thought got decent reception as well. The camera also seems to be fairly decent, as that was a quality I wanted, but not above audio. The Huawei, Honor 8 has a better and more capable camera, but most of my shots dont require what it offers (another phone Best Buy does offer, and worth a look). Bottom line, for $199, it is a steal, and a great value. It also comes with a clear silicon case, and comes with a 2 year warranty against incidental damage, including broken screens, water damage, and other damage with a $79.99 deductible. The Passport warranty comes with all the Axon devices, and they also have an Advance Exchange Program; if your phone breaks, they will send a replacement before receiving your broken phone. There are conditions, but they also pay for shipping both ways.

    Almost a great phone

I bought this phone to replace my iPhone 6S Plus. This was mainly due to the lack of a headphone port and because I needed a dual SIM device. Overall, it's remarkable for the price. The screen is better than the one on my iPhone, the battery life is comparable and the whole thing is smaller and sleeker without sacrificing screen real estate. I'm happy with my purchase. My only gripe with the phone is the lack of illuminated (or at the very least, physical) buttons along the bottom. You need to use these often and kg gets frustrating in the dark. Since they're part of the screen, you'll often press the home button without wanting to. And because they're not illuminated and so close together, you'll find yourself hitting home instead of back.
