    Decent build, subpar modem

First off for $250 bucks , you get a phone with great build quality minus the front speaker grilles they look out of place, feels/looks like cloth. I guess it helps with sound, which is another great aspect. They are loud! Slightly hollow but some of the best I've heard on a phone. Battery life seems fairly standard, nothing special but heavy user won't make a full day for sure. Now for the bad... reception, it's terrible I have 3 active sims (Verizon, cricket, and T-Mobile) and 3 different phones, the axon 7 mini (obviously) Nexus 6p and iPhone Se. With the ZTE WiFi and LTE speeds are half! I tested several times with resets to be sure. I average 100+ on my FiOS WiFi on my other phones but sit at 50 on the ZTE. T-Mobile will pull 30 on the Nexus but only 16 on the ZTE. You can receive standard text and calls on the ZTE with Verizon just no data/SMS , Verizon is to blame they block the imei. I never tested cricket because it caps at 8 but I did have frequent loss of data, I mean zero data connection. After checking forums it seems the full size axon 7 has reception issues as well. You have been warned! And then there's MiFavor UI it's awful, from the lag and color scheme down to the apps you can't delete, I don't want your calendar! So guess what I have to have two now on the phone. Garbage if I wanted bloatware I would buy from a carrier. Thats my rant, thanks for reading.

    Not that great

I read the reviews before purchasing and it sounded like a great deal. However, my previous Lg phone had a better quality pics and it had lower mega pixels! I'm not sure how the Sony would have turned out, but I regret not buying a different cell. The battery drains like you won't believe. I've definitely had greater quality phones for this same price. I wouldn't recommend.

If you need a cheap phone...Maybe this is it...?

I've had this thing for 4 months now. Tonight was the last night I'm going to deal with the inadequacies. Lord forbid you do thing like um, use Facebook or stream Spotify at the same time. It's horribly ineffective for anything other than basic use. DO NOT try to multi-task on this phone. Just don't. I probably should have known better..."but that price tho". I just wish I had that $300.00 back to put in a decent piece of equipment. Pros: the speakers are loud. Finger print scanner is FAST....ends there. Cons: everything else. Horribly disappointed. I couldn't even answer a phone call while streaming tonight annnnnnnd when I tried to restart it took a good two minutes to catch up to the commands given to it. I'm done. Will never buy another ZTE product. Plus, upon purchase the OS just felt cut- rate. If you want a performer ....This IS NOT IT. I guess it's partially my fault for expecting more. Just wish I had that $300 back.

    ghost calls

this phone did well in the performance sector but later on it started missing calls, not like i forget to pick them up or anything. it's that the phone doesn't show missed calls or anything at all but once a text is sent it loads the voice mail but nothing else. would not recommend this to anyone that needs to use their phone as a phone that receives calls.

    No wifi calling

    Posted .

Be aware that as of this date ZTE does not offer T-Mobile wifi calling with the Axon 7 mini. Further, ZTE has no plans to offer wifi as an update as it has on the Axon 7. We purchased the Axon 7 mini with the expectation it did offer wifi calling because the sales rep had this phone confused with the ZTE Axon 7. We are returning it for that reason only.

Every time I use this phone it over heats which prevents me from making calls and text and receiving them. It become incredibly slow after a few months of use. Don't waste your money of this phone.

    Good phone, horrible battery

If the battery were decent on this phone, it would be a steal. Everything else about the phone is fine for what I need. The battery, however, doesn't even last me half of a day. I wouldn't consider myself a heavy phone user. I purchased this phone because a friend had the full-size LTE Axon and loved it. Their battery life is fine, must just be a problem with the mini.

    Great Potential

Unlocked Zte - Axon 7 Mini would not work on Verizon Wireless. Three different sim cards/2 Associates/2 calls to Verizon, and it would only make calls in roaming mode. The Best Buy web site stated that the smartphone would work with Verizon, but it didn't. It could be that Verizon doesn't play good with unlocked smartphones, even those designed for CDMA. Too bad!

We apologize for the inaccurate information about Verizon network compatibility. We have made updates to remove this misinformation and replace it with the correct carrier compatibility specifications, which only include GSM networks.

Had this for around 10 days. It won't connect to 5Ghz wifi. User interface is very poor. Ended up returning and Bestbuy charged me $35 restocking fee. (Never told me they would charge though)

    Stuck in a boot loop

i bought the phone one month ago in Miami, everything was ok, until suddenly a week ago, the phone shows a Facebook Error, after that i try to restart and never works again. The phone is stuck in a boot loop and will not power to the home screen, i´ve contact ZTE by twitter and they told me that their found a number of Blade V8 PRO and AXON 7 mini users having this issue and that Facebook seems to be the culprit. . they dont have a solution for this, and im still cant use my phone.

Not ATT compatible due to APN issues. Cannot send MMS or receive. The default settings can't edit, and the new inputs won't save. Going back to store.

Had this for about 2 months now and having major wifi issues with it. Networks I was connecting to just fine now will not work. I use wifi more than cellular so it's worthless where I need it most like home and work. Also uses up my data. Also have not received several phone calls even when I have service. Great screen, excellent sound, fairly fast, decent battery. Just have to carry iPod with for wifi. Very disappointing.

Pros: Beautiful phone Great Sound Beautiful Screen Fast performance and charging Cons: Low signal in known good coverage areas Upload and download speeds were pretty bad Phone calls would go straight to voicemail in good coverage areas. As a media device the Axon 7 was great. But as a phone it was pretty bad. Cant recommend.
