A: As per the user manual, it can be wired to existing doorbell
Q: Do you have to pay for a monthly service?
A: Yes, if you want to store or review videos, you’ll need to pay a yearly fee (which is around $30). Otherwise it’s live feed only. There is a grace period, but then that goes away.
A: Hello! I do not know if Best Buy can help you install the Ring Video Doorbell, but any handyman can help you install it. The Ring Video Doorbell can either be battery-operated, which will need to be taken off the wall to recharge, or can be hard-wired connected, which will not require periodically being taken off the wall for recharging. I had replaced my original doorbell with the Ring Video Doorbell unit. My original doorbell was removed and was replaced/rewired with the new Ring Video Doorbell. Works like a charm! If you want to place it in a new location which has stucco, there should not be a problem with installation. It comes with a plate which is attached to the wall with a few screws. A few screw holes will have to be drilled into your stucco wall. After the plate is attached, the unit just slides & clicks on to the plate and is further secured with another screw (unit to wall plate). If it is not hard-wired for electricity, then the unit will have to be taken off the plate periodically for recharge. How would you know when to recharge? You will be able to see the level of charge on your app or website, when you sign into your account. Hope this helps! This Ring Video Doorbell is wonderful for better security. Highly recommend!
Q: can the above ring video doorbell be installed without an existing doorbell?.
A: Yes it can work that way, it will notify your phone or Alexa if you have her set up to learn the ring doorbell. Or you can get a wall outlet chime to use. Possibilities are endless.

I waited over a year to write this review so i could give an honest assessment. Well it has been a very pleasant surprise. I was hesitant to get one, didnt think it was necessary, but with more and more porch pirates felt it was needed. Set up is easy and we have the app on all our devices including echo and show with notifications on. Mounting was a slight issue as my old wired doorbell is on brick in a very tight space that was to narrow for this device and it also would not provide needed street angle fir the camera. Easy fix for me I mounted it directly on one of my double doors. Side benefit is i still have my old wired doorbell so when this one is charging i still have a doorbell. I have most of the functions turned on and we get pretty much traffic to this device and i only have to charhe it every 3-4 months. Am considering adding the solar panel but havent decided. I did get the annual plan as after the initial free trial period you will see the benefits it offers. Personally without that i dont really see the need for this type of device. Camera is clear and gives a wide view. What is most important to 5: if i am upstairs i know when someone it at my door, i know who is there, know who shows up at your house when you are away EVEN IF THEY DONT RING THE BELL, have a record for law enforcement should that be necessary. Highly recommend this bell. Ps i got a great combo deal on this was the ring doorbell with echo show so you may want to keep a watch.

Great
I love it! I’m glad I got this on sale! I bought two of them, one for me and my parents! Couldn’t be happier. I live in an apartment so I couldn’t install it through wires or walls. I purchase a holder from another company to put it in and I’m so pleased! It doesn’t need constant charging. It’s been a month already and it’s only at 81% as of today. So I’d say it takes away about 1% of charge each day, sometimes half of that depending how much motion it detects and how you have it set up. I have it on moderate. It detects all motion and I record about 30seconds after until motion starts! Great buy! I’ve caught a lot of foolishness on my floor.

Best Doorbell Camera I've owned ever!
I can't say enough good things about this doorbell camera! I was paying $75 a month for another well known security service and their door bell camera did not work for the entire three years of service I was with them. This device has great battery life, connects seamlessly with the app, and rings loud enough to notify me when guest arrive to the door. The added feature of a automatic verbal response is another great benefit of having this camera. Highly recommended and great price!
