Rockshow is a much needed DVD re-issue for Paul fans everywhere. It is the first complete video release of any kind of this movie. The concert itself, is taken from L.A. (The Forum,) N.Y.C. (MSG,) and Seattle (Kingdome (1976-2000,) concerts during the Wings Over America tour. The performances are exciting and energetic. Paul really plays off the crowds, and is really enjoying himself. The highlights for me were the opening, Venus and Mars, Rock Show, and Jet, in almost a medley; Lady Madonna, a song Paul really enjoys playing then and now; The entire acoustic set, with Picasso's Last Words, and I've Just Seen A Face standing out; Denny's Laine's version of Go Now is also bouncy, the set of Speed of Sound songs is rockin', especially Beware my Love, and Soily, the great lost Paul rocker, is a great way to end the show. The restoration and remastering of the movies' picture and sound is great. Still, some of the picture re-storing still shows some grainy and old aspects of the medium in 1976/1980, but it isn't as consistent like the old VHS/Beta/RCA disc/LD versions. The sound is wonderful, remixed and clear, unlike the muddy original stereo in 1980. I must admit...I have the regular DVD re-issue, not the Blu-Ray release, so the Blu-Ray is probably better, but this DVD is still recommended.

    Wings over America: The Movie

After the Beatles performed their last US concert in 1966 in San Francisco, Paul McCartney returned to the States with his own band Wings and performed in front of the sold out concert show. Rockshow is the concert movie that was first shown in 1980 during the 1976 Wings over America tour. When it was first released, there were some of the songs not included in the film due to the time length. Let Me Roll It, Spirits of Ancient Egypt, Call Me Back Again, Picasso's Last Stand (Drink to Me), Richard Cory, You Gave Me The Answer, Magneto and Titanium Man, Time to Hide, and Beware My Love are some of the songs that were not including until the movie is finally released and remastered on Blu-Ray and DVD. Rockshow is the ultimate rock concert of 1976.

If your reading this review it's probably a safe bet that you are a Paul McCartney / Wings fan, in which case stop reading this review and just go get it! Rockshow documents highlights from the Seattle and San Fracisco stops on the 1976 Wings Over the World tour noteworthy in part because this along with Wings Over America it's album equivelant are the first releases since the end of the Beatles on which McCartney performs Beatles tunes and you can practically feel the audiences approval. There isn't much for special features but who cares!

As a non-tech camera user, I needed a camera quickly, one that would be easy to use and give quality pictures. I took my camera-savvy nephew with me and he suggested this one -- though I'm a Mac user, this is superb! It has so many options that I plan to take the time to learn them and use them as I "shoot." Great purchase!

Great concert. Pretty good quality overall. Video lacking at times. I waited awhile before purchasing so no audio issues like when it was first released. I would have liked to have seen more extras added.

I had never seen any concert footage from Wings in the 70's. I always liked Wings, and this concert did not disappoint! Great from start to finish. Great band, great show, great songs!

Paul in his prime, obviously enjoying sharing the stage with his new band. I had no issues with the sound at all. I put it on surround sound and cranked it up!
