Good Starter Streaming Player
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Roku SE is a special edition released during the thanksgiving. After about 1 month of using, I believe SE is similar to Roku 1. However it perfectly does what it is supposed to. We cannot expect Roku 4 features in Roku SE. But it is an excellent product for starters and it has all the basic features.

Great device to upgrade your TV to a Smart TV!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the device based on a recommendation from a coworker. It was very easy to set up. It offered more than I expected. You can access Youtube, Netflix along with several other similar movie channels (with subscription), Pandora and much more. It is much cheaper than purchasing a Smart TV. I highly recommend this device.

Good alternative to cable
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I saw the Roku SE Streaming Player available on Black Friday I knew I wanted to get it. I already have another Roku unit at home so i was already familiar with the use and quality of the product. When I said it was a good alternative to cable, I meant if you don't want to pay for channels you don't use, Roku offers "channels" you can download and watch for free. Some channels you may have to pay for, but there are still plenty of movies, news, weather and even games to choose from. If you still have cable, you can use the Roku to complement it with existing cable channels and there is even an app you can download to your phone or tablet to use as a remote control. Since it is based on a wireless internet device, you may experience some buffering issues. But, overall, I like the Roku SE and think you will too.

Roku SE
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a smart TV, but we upgraded to a bigger screen and wanted the streaming capabilities so we purchased this product to accompany our new TV. It was a little different than the smart TV, but still very user friendly and has a lot of great options. Many channels to choose from. Still learning all the features, but very satisfied with my purchase.

Good for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this at the Black Friday sale. I already have a Roku 3, and was looking for something for the TV in the bedroom. I like that the Roku 1/SE has many of the same core features as the Roku 3, but for a lot less money. It's admittedly slower (e.g., navigation, search) than the Roku 3, but I haven't seen any problems with streaming.

Solid Device
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall exactly as expected. Had to uninstall and reinstall a few apps in order to get them working properly. For a basic streaming device, it is ultimately everything I wanted and I would recommend for the price. If speed is of concern, may want to explore other options as it does load however other devices I have are faster overall.

Q: QuestionTV compatibilityDoes this Roku come with the cords to connect it to an older standard definition TV? If not, what cords does it come with and what would I need to buy to make it compatible?
Asked by Atara.
- A:Answer No cords are included, only a power cube. You would need either an HDMI cable for a newer tv or you could use an older style rca cable which has the yellow, red, white plugs on it for older tv's.

Q: QuestionIs this Roku wifi only?I bought the Roku stick and returned it the same day. I have great high speed internet service, but spent more time looking at "loading" and "buffering" screens than I spent watching actual content. My cable internet is more than fast enough, but have found wifi streaming to be a nightmare. Does Roku has an ethernet slot or is it wifi only?
Asked by Streaming via wifi is no good.
- A:Answer You'll have the same problems with this Roku because of its slow processor. At least get a 2015 Roku 2. Very little buffering and loading. The new Roku 4 had no buffering or loading at all its crazy.

Q: QuestionCan you stream off of an Iphone onto the Roku SE?I just purchased the Roku SE for my mother.
