Turn your TV to Roku TV with better audio
|Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Yes, I took the Black Week deal and bought one I have Roku stick 4k but TV sounds like garbage and it doesn't have audio out of any kind, so this smart sound bar is just a perfect choice. Sound comes from the sound bar is much like premium 2.0 speaker Roku part is much like my current Roku stick 4k, but one distinct difference is USB port. I have USB ethernet adapter and it works with Roku sound bar and the network setup becomes much easier. Just connect to wired network and done. Remote does not have headphones jack, so you may want to use your smartphone instead. Since I used hard wire connection, initial setup with Roku app on smartphone is much painless. This speaker is a perfect hardware if you want a Roku but your TV speaker has horrible audio, or simply connect it with computer screen with HDMI in.

Small yet big sound
|Posted .Owned for 1 month when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5Roku Streambar was very easy to setup and sounds great. It is much smaller than a typical soundbar. We purchased it specifically to take advantage of the on-board Roku streaming software, which allowed us to move our streaming stick to another TV in the house. One minor downside was having to log in again to all our apps and it would be nice if the Roku account just transferred the info.

Great Product

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I was a huge fan of Amazon’s Firestick and how easy it was to use. During Black Friday I was going to upgrade to their 4K stick, but instead I got the Roku Streambar. I did some research before jumping in and I liked that Roku offered private listening as well as a customizable home screen. This is the first Roku product I’ve owned and I’m very happy with the purchase. The sound quality is really good! It’s a fantastic upgrade to the sound from my Samsung TV. The bass is surprisingly good for such a small package. Eventually I’m going to buy Roku’s wireless subwoofer and speakers for an added punch when watching movies. For now though the Streambar is perfect for me. I really love the fact that I only have to use one remote to turn on both the Streambar and my TV.

Easy setup easy to use

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5The Roku Streambar Player works great. I've been using it now for about three weeks and haven't any any problems. The sound is a lot better than what comes out of the TV. I have an older TV so I had to use the optic output. Easy setup easy to use, good for cutting the cord.

What I needed and more!
|Posted .Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5This is a long review, so get ready! I purchased the Streambar because I wanted to enhance my TV's sound, replace my Google Chromecast, and make my TV even smarter, all while being able to control the TV with 1 remote. If this is what you are looking for, look no further. 1) The sound is great. I was worried that the sound would be better in the original Roku Soundbar, but the price, model year, and reviews for the Streambar sold me on it. The sound is great in my living room, which is about 12x14 feet, I imagine if you get the wireless surround sound speakers the sound would be even better, but it's not necessary for me. 2) The Roku has made my 2016 LG Smart TV even smarter. My TV has built in apps, but they never update with new content, and the TV often freezes when I open these apps. The Roku has made choosing apps and streaming so much faster. It even has the capability to Screen Mirror my iphone without having to purchase an Apple TV! I can Cast from Youtube and other apps like Netflix, and I can also use Bluetooth to stream Spotify. 3) I love that I only need one remote. The Streambar has everything built in, so as long as you hook your TV up to the HDMI-ARC, you can turn your TV on and off and control the volume. This is my main driver for this soundbar, because I hate using multiple remotes, but I also hate huge universal remotes. 4) Using other inputs works well too, but the only thing the Roku can't do is change the input on the TV. You will have to do this yourself by using the TV remote, but you CAN use your Roku remote to control volume. I have not had to reset the sound settings to make sure it works with the DVD player or Game Systems, the sound instantly comes out of the Streambar without a problem. 5) The only problem I had was in the beginning. For some reason, my iPhone wasn't recognizing the Roku as a Casting device, but after about a day, it finally did. I don't know why it lagged, but I'm glad it works now. 6) I know the Roku works with the Google Assistant, but I just got rid of mine because it was always giving me problems, so I can't give a review on the Google Assistant capability.

Given the price & size, I am pleasantly impressed
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.Features
Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I've had a Roku player for years and it has always been fine, but the audio set-up I had was overly complex and still only delivered very basic, 2.0 sound. I decided, for the sake of simplicity, to replace the existing Roku and speaker set-up with this unit. I was not expecting much, TBH, and was prepared for some headaches setting-up and/or lackluster sound. Must say that I am very pleasantly surprised on both fronts. The device connected with zero hassle to my Vizio TV, and the sound is very nice. I'm no audiophile, but to me it's a big upgrade over what I had before. It suits my needs perfectly. What I very particularly enjoy is that this device, unlike my previous Roku player, will power the TV on/off and adjust volume with a single remote. So the overall simplicity, now, with far fewer cables and devices needing power, is an enormous plus. For reference, the device is attached to a 42" Vizio, in a room about 14 by 11. Sitting about 8 feet away from the speaker, the sound feels very clear and immersive, with all but the highest and lowest ends of the spectrum thinning out a bit. So as far as value and simplicity goes, I could hardly be happier with it.

Great for what it is

Quality5 out of 5Value5 out of 5Ease of Use5 out of 5I am not a big review writer but thought I would add one here for people on the fence about this product. For the $100 I paid for this product, it is well worth it. I added it to a three year old Sony “smart” TV that had mediocre sound and pretty terrible smart features. Netflix worked ok but that was it. I really needed something to stream the Xfinity app, so needed a Roku. The Roku functionality works as expected. I have two 2020 Ultras, and the streaming features on this work just as well. As for the sound, it is a definite improvement over the TV speakers. Those were practically unusable. This is pleasant. This TV is in a guest bedroom (now also my home office), and the sound is fun for that purpose. Voices are clearer, there is some punch in action scenes, and some spatial effects. There are three other TVs in the house, two have Sonos beams with Subs and surrounds driven by Amps, the other has the setup but with an Arc. This does not approach those setups. But it doesn’t cost over $1500 either. Or even $300 for just a beam. Also, the TV is hung on the wall with a swivel rack, so I didn’t want an extra 10+ lbs weighing it down. This did the trick, and made it a lot easier than dealing with two components. So at least in my use case, this product is perfect.

Q: QuestionSince the given remote does not have a headphone jack, am I able to upgrade to the volume remote with a headphone jack?
Asked by Josh.
- A:Answer Roku has replacement remotes available for $30, which has the headphone jack built in. However, with the Roku app on your phone, you can change the audio to use your own corded or bluetooth earphones, in addition to using your app in place of the remote. So the question is whether you want a physical headphone jack integrated for $30 or just use the free app to sync to the device, which will allow you to control everything you would on the physical remote, plus switching the audio to your earbuds/headphones connected to your mobile phone. Two other notes: the app remote DOES offer voice search just like the remote does. But, the "private listening" feature allows you to listen through your own headphones for streaming services, but NOT Games. Hope this helps!

Q: QuestionWill the soundbar work in instances where you are using an input other that where the Roku is plugged in ?
Asked by BobS.
- A:Answer Bob, it can if you connect the Roku Streambar to your TV with the optical cable. If you use the HDMI cable it will only work with the Roku streaming content.

Q: QuestionHello, so this roku sound bar also includes whatever would be on a Roku box or it's just a sound bar for a Roku box? So in other words, if I bought this, I would also need a Roku box?
Asked by MR.
- A:Answer This is a complete package. Roku is embedded in unit. Just plug and play.

Q: QuestionCan I use this with a Computer Monitor that has now speakers - to view occasion movies etc.
Asked by K.
- A:Answer Yes as long as you have an HDMI input on the monitor. You only get sound from the apps within Roku, not from anything else hooked up to your monitor.

Q: QuestionI bought this thinking the Bluetooth would connect to wireless earbuds for private listening. It seems I was mistaken, The unit must have bluetooth input only and not output. Very disapointing.
Asked by DonC.
- A:Answer DonC, you need to use the Roku Mobile App to use Private Listening Mode on Roku devices. It is a free download. Then you will pair your wireless earbuds to your phone. https://support.roku.com/article/217478308

Q: QuestionHi, Will the Roku Streambar have audio when not using Roku for example watching my antenna channels? Thank you!
Asked by Angela.
- A:Answer Yes, so long as it is setup via HDMI ARC, it’ll act as your primary audio. You’ll likely need to set your TVs audio to HDMI as well.
