Q: QuestionSpecifications say that this operates on batteries. But, picture of contents in the box shows a plug-in adaptor. What is that for? I know the remote will use 2 aa batteries. But how does Roku get power? From the HDMI connection? What is plug adaptor for?
Asked by Questionguy.
- A:Answer Remote uses batteries. Stick gets power from tv through USB or directly plugging into socket. Powering from tv means that the stick will reboot each time tv is turned on. Socket power keeps stick energized and saves memory. I've tried both ways and so far I think I prefer the tv reboot option. It takes a bit longer to boot up and come alive but that is offset by less run time coupled with a "clearing of the baffles" every time it reboots. BTW, I am very happy with the stick +, currently owning 3 and soon to add 4 more. I'm able to drop directv and replace with these sticks and select channels at 1/3 the cost for almost identical content.

Q: QuestionWE DO NOT HAVE A SMART TV. WHAT IS THE BEST ROKU TO PURCHASE FOR AN OLDER FLAT SCREEN? DO THE EAR BUDS DETACH? TV DOES HAVE HDMI CONNECTION.
Asked by DCKID.
- A:Answer You do no have to have a smart TV. The Roku stick turns it into a smart tv. The headphones unplug from the remote. When they are plugged in, the sound on the tv is muted. When unplugged, the sound flows through the tv. My tv is olkd, and this works quite well. You do need the internet,

Q: Question1. Power Adaptor , this be a multi voltage..exp I'm 220 volts, not 110 Not have interest in roku line up as they refuse to tell you Voltage...Amazon & Walmart does same. 2. To operate you must have an acct Is the charge card mandatory....???
Asked by Lee.
- A:Answer Yes you must have a charge card but you could simply load a prepaid. It is so you can get apps that charge a subscription straight through the Roku and not have to go to the website. It is also so you can rent movies or purchase movies. You set a pin so you can’t accidentally spend money and then you use that pin every time you want to make a purchase. Some apps like VUDU and Amazon also want cards so you can buy stuff from them.
