Low Latency, FAST storage. Excellent Build
Sturdy, thick, finely machined aluminum enclosure. This is one of the fastest possible ways to add external storage to any computer, (especially laptops or Mac computers with limited ports) due to the Thunderbolt 3 connection providing you with 2 lanes of PCi express 3.0 bandwidth. The major difference here is the reduced latency/improved response time/fewer bus limitations over similar USB 3.2-based enclosures. Very important for those who want to add a larger nvme drive to boot directly from, like i did. The internal ssd on my 2018 mac mini is not user upgradeable, so a 2tb ssd installed in this Sabrent enclosure is now my boot drive. Most users needing just extra external storage will be satisfied with a USB-based enclosure, and can skip this Sabrent Thunderbolt model and save the money. Enclosure i received has an updated design, no longer has the little nubs that made the Thunderbolt port semi-proprietary. Appears that you can connect most Thunderbolt 3 cables now.

Sturdy enclosure that’s easy to set up.
Sturdy hard drive enclosure that’s easy to put together. It does get warm and I doubled up on the heat pad. Overall, I’d recommend it.
