Samsung - 23" Widescreen Flat-Panel LCD Monitor - High Glossy Black

Tjprinter has fallen for the old "more is better" number and the false correlation effect. Below 8-12 ms it is really hard for the human eye to tell the difference, or for it to be noticeable. So that being said a 8 ms vs a 2/4/or 5 ms isn't a huge difference. I myself have tested Borderlands,Crysis, and Eve-Online all at 1980x1020 (which are more intensive games then WoW/SC2. ) In terms of "ghosting" or blurring, I put it up against my room mates 23 LG LCD which has a quoted 3 ms response time, and there was no noticeable difference in blur/ghosting. HOWEVER, that being said my friends 23 inch did look slighlty better with side by side (not noticeable unless side by side) comparison using the same hardware. This has nothing to do with the Response time and more to do with other things such as the static and dynamic contrast, screen quality, type of anti-glare coating that is used. What happens is generally the faster the response time, the better the other parts are going to be which have a much bigger impact then the response time. Even Cnet doesn't review response time. One problem i've noticed, which I might be able to fix by playing around with the settings, is that it appears to be a bit white washed, meaning that everything appears a lot whiter and drowns out some of the depth of color. This is not a deal breaker, just something that you could improve with a better model. One thing that disappointed me was the lack of HDMI input. While DVI and HDMI in this case will give the same picture quality, it's nice to have options (and in fact I had to run out and buy a HDMI to DVI cable so I could plug my laptop in via hdmi.) Had this been a 240 dollar machine, that would of been unforgivable. Being a 140 dollar machine, in the scheme of things it is not a big deal. In terms of ranking, compared to all other 23 inches out there, ignoring price, i'd probably rate this a 3.8. However, at this price it is easily a 4.7. Bottom Line. For this price, there is not a better deal and you will not feel like it would of been worth it to splurge an extra 100 dollars on a "better" monitor. It is perfectly good for gaming, watching movies, and everyday use.

I bought this on Black Friday 140 dollars. on other websites this monitor is over $200. The design is good, it has a nice blue light coming from the bottom which lights up my room at night and the problem i had with my last monitor was the stand kept wobbling, but this one does not wobble. the setup was VERY easy all you had to do is put the stand into the screen, no tools required. The features is very nice because it has a program called MagicTune, and what it does is it setts the the brightness,contrast, etc. to your setting like it has options for Game, movie,sport,text and so on.The image quality is VERY nice! i just watched a blue ray movie on it and it was incredible( and i don't even have a HDMI cable yet!). I recommend this!!

So far so good after 1.5 months. Very crisp, good color and adjustability. Excellent price ($139). Side menu buttons (labels appear on screen when pressed) and side on-off button are clever and keep the lines clean, but take a little getting used to.

I got this monitor on a Black Friday deal for a really great price. I thought 23" might be too big actually, but after a few days it seems normal. Great looking monitor, it has VGA and DVI connections, but no HDMI connections. Also it was hard to find drivers on Samsung's website because I guess it's a specific Best Buy model from Samsung?

Got this monitor on black friday for a great price. Monitor has an excellent picture and runs video very well. Have not had an issue yet and would consider buying another for the price.

Bought this monitor for its size and prize, I use it primarily for facebook and everyday computer uses. Wish it had a HDMI port, but for the price that definitely wasn’t a deal breaker.

I just love this display and it works great . Nice and crisp and colors just pop. I would say use the dvi-d plug and not the vga as it is sooo much better on dvi

We have had this monitor for about a month. No problems with it so far. We love the 23" screen. The picture is really clear. Good price, no complaints at all.
