      The fridge looks nice, it has so far kept the food cold and the ice maker makes lots of ice and crushes well. Water filter is quite nice and water tastes pretty good and the ice as well. Shelves are quite evenly spaced, and the ability to control humidity is nice. The internal refrigerator light is poorly placed and really not bright enough to illuminate the entire fridge. Bottom of the fridge basically gets no light from the internal lights. They really should have put lights on the front LED panel where you select water and ice. You only see 3 blue lights and you have to guess which one it's on if the room is dark. The ice/water selection panel is also a bit confusing. Also, ice maker stalls for about 2 - 3 seconds before it starts shooting out ice. And as a lot of other reviews have stated, unless you put the glass/cup right up to the top, you're going to get ice all over the place. Bad design on the ice/water dispenser overall. To top it off, there seems to be a lot of manufacturing issues. For example, on top of the fridge there's a lot of glue residue outside of this black piece. I have no idea what it does but it's sloppy how they put it on. Also, there was blood splatter in the fridge right behind the butter compartment. We wiped it down with bleach, but the fact that we saw blood splatter was really concerning. Overall, it's not a horrible fridge, but there are better options out there (at least I hope there are).

      Not the best quality, it's going back....


      I am a huge Samsung fan from electronics to appliances. This fridge did not live up to my expectations even after going against my judgment after reading the reviews. First off, as a refrigerator it worked fine as far as keeping everything cold and frozen, doors sealed nice and tight, no problems there. Unfortunately the stainless always looks dirty. Its hard to keep clean and the leaking water/ice dispenser makes sure you constantly have water marks down the front. The water dispenser has a constant drip. This is accompanied by any ice (mainly crushed ice) that sits on the back of the dispenser door and melts over time. That is to be expected but the lack of a drip tray and the leaking water dispenser make sure that the small recessed area floods all the time. The controls are terrible on the front. They are not back-lit, there are LED's so why Samsung chose not to add a back-light to the actual icons is annoying since there is an LED above them to show what is selected. The controls like to choose when they would like to work which can be very annoying. It is pretty noisy! Its not deafening but you can definitely tell when its doing something. I am returning this for a different model/brand. It looked great when it was first installed, but due to the dirty look from anything that comes in contact with it and the water marks it looked like a cheap appliance in my new kitchen with all new appliances.

      Looks great - controls don't work

      Just had this fridge delivered a couple days ago. While it's a stunning looking unit, that's overshadowed by the fact that the electronic controls are an exercise in frustration at best. They work as they should MAYBE 5% of the time. Pushing the controls usually result in either no response... or an undesired result. Want to change from water to ice? You're supposed to push the ice button with a single press. Press it and nothing happens. Press it again, and you've just turned the ice function OFF. (which in only supposed to happen if you press and hold for 3 sec) Sooo ... press and hold for 3 seconds to turn the ice back on ... and nothing happens. Over and over again. If you screw with it for 5 - 10 minutes, you might get the thing to do what it's supposed to but there's no guarantee. Same thing when trying to adjust the fridge temp. Press the Fridge button to adjust the temp ... and nothing happens. Try it again and nothing. One more time ... and you've just LOCKED all the controls. (again, that's only supposed to happen if you press and hold 3 sec) It's almost as if there's some sort of delay but there's no way to know if the press actually did anything or not. The display model at the big box store next to my BestBuy works fine - whereas the display at BestBuy misbehaves just like mine does. Doesn't instill a lot of confidence in Samsung appliances. Remember the days when you bought something and it just worked? The last fridge I purchased is over 25 years old and it STILL works - was just looking to update to something a little more modern with more capacity. Haven't decided if I'll just get my money back and live with the old one, or replace it with another brand - but this one is going back.

      What you don't notice will bite you in the butt.


      This model is my third Samsung. There is a reason this model sells for hundreds of dollars less than other Samsung models of a comparable size. Here's what I failed to notice. First, no small slide out drawer for cheese, lunch meats and the like. That means items such as I just mentioned have to go in the veggie bin or with the meat as there is only two bins. Unhandy. Samsung offers no replacement or addition for this particular width shelf. Second, no egg tray. Really? I didn't think you could buy a reffer with out one. (Sure wished I'd held on to the old one) Third, the (cheep) design of the bins means they bump on one side or another as you pull them in or out. Not a smooth operation and not expensive to have utilized a better design. Fourth, the pressure to change from water to ice on the panel requires more force that pervious Samsungs. Which means a second or third attempt to find the "sweet spot" may be necessary. Not a big deal but overtime.... Lastly, the temperature control is not nearly as precise as you would reasonably expect. Oh it cools big time but cannot be reduced sufficiently to not require a microwave to dip ice cream. Samsung makes fantastic refrigerators. This is not one. Lest you think I wrote this out of passion, I've been using this one for 15 months. Caveat Emptor!

      We lost our refrigerator (Kenmore) due to a lightning strike. We shopped around searching for a comparable model that was black, to match our existing appliances. We found the Samsung at Best Buy, and were pleased with the features and similarity to our damaged Kenmore. They even had a black stainless model in the back of the store still wrapped in its shipping protection. The associate checked the numbers and confirmed it was the same model. Upon bringing it home and inspecting it we found it not to be exactly the same. The model on the showroom had the ice maker and container in the door, a feature we preferred. The model we received had the ice maker in the body of the freezer. Also, the lighting of the floor model was exceptional, it had lights from the top to the bottom of the refrigerator. The model we brought home has bright lighting but it's all at the top and in the back, so tall objects can block the light from lower shelves. Neither are performance issues, but rather convenience issues. On performance, there is a bit more noise from the motor or fan than we experienced with our Kenmore. Also, I have yet to use the ice dispenser without scattering ice on the floor. It seems the mouth of the dispenser is too large. Large cups are fine, but regular drinking glasses seem to be too small and cubes of ice creep by......I have not tried the ice crushing feature because of the mess I am certain it would make. At the time of purchase at Best Buy, we were informed that if we were unsatisfied that we could return it within 14 days. We decided to keep it and thus far (2 months) have not had any problems.

      This Samsung 24.5 cu. ft. refrigerator is what I needed size wise. It was a good frig for the money. It does lack the "extras" that most higher price models have. There are only 2 crisper/meat drawers in the frig. I miss the 3rd drawer we had in our old frig. The shelves seem a little dinky and have less adjustment that other models. The deep door storage bins are nice, but don't allow for much adjustment up and down. The very worst feature of the refrigerator is the very poor lighting. If smaller items are stored near the back of the top shelf, the light is blocked significantly making it nearly impossible to see the contents of the lower shelves. I also miss the actual temperature readings that I had on my old frig. I guess you could put a thermometer in the frig and freezer, but it seems stupid not to have one there from the factory. The freezer works well and produces enough ice for a family of four. But, we had 4 visitors for a couple of weeks and I had to add 9 ice trays to keep up with the ice use. All in all, I still think this is a good refrigerator for the money. If I had it to do over again though, I might pay a couple of hundred dollars more to get 3 food drawers and better lighting.

      I moved the old fridge down the stairs into the garage by myself prior to the delivery. I measured every access way to be sure the new fridge would make it. I took the banister and light off the wall prior to delivery. After 15 minutes of trying to get it up the stairs, the delivery guys told me it will not fit. I told them exactly how it would go, and they said they are not allowed to carry it like that. I work for the state worker's comp company and would not ask them to do anything unsafe in my home. I told them to leave it at the bottom of the stairs and I will get it up the stairs. They left and I began to position the fridge to be carried up to stairs. At which point, one of the delivery guys opened the front door because he had forgot he had screws in his pocket and slammed the door handle into right into the fridge. This was a complete accident, but now my brand new fridge has a dent in it and I had to get it up the stairs by myself. A friend of mine and I got it up the stairs and into place in less than five minutes without any straps or safety equipment or experience moving appliances.

      Defective Refrigerator/ Best Buy not helpful


      Bought this online and had it delivered by a 3rd party contractor. Best Buy never mentioned this prior to my purchase. The fridge was delivered and hooked up then everything went bad. First off moving guys damaged my brand new cabinet getting it in and now I have to go through an insurance claim with them and not best buy, they have been unresponsive. Second the water dispenser and ice maker did not work and thirdly, a couple minutes after it was plugged in the door alarm for the refrigerator would not stop beeping. The beeping was loud and occurred around 10 beeps per 2 minute or so. As you can imagine this was so annoying the refrigerator had to be unplugged. I ended up losing out on $150 worth of groceries, couldn't go shopping for refrigerated items and had to eat out for 5 days. Best Buy was not helpful at all, they basically said too bad we will send out a new fridge in 5 days and not compensate you at all. I ordered a new fridge because I was not about to get another model like this. Beware of this refrigerator and 3rd party deliveries and bad service by Best Buy.
