    Not the same as pictured

This review is more to make you aware of a difference in what is pictured and what was received and then the extremely poor customer service provided by Samsung. I purchased DW80J3020US (stainless steel.) This dishwasher seemed inline with all of the other dishwashers I looked at BUT what made me choose this one is that the picture shows a stainless/silver-ish kick plate. This was important for me as my kitchen has no black in it. The picture CLEARLY shows a stainless kick plate. When the unit was received it came with a black kick plate. I contacted Samsung to find out if the unit no longer was supplied with stainless or if a mistake had occurred...or...what? The CSR told me that Samsung dishwashers do not come with ANY kick plate, that it is purchased as an accessory. I tried to convince the CSR that mine did in fact come with one, that it was black (not stainless as pictured) and that I was holding it in my hand. She said that she wasn't able to do anything because Samsung dishwashers do not come with a kick plate. At this point I kindly asked for a manager. The manager told me he would send one at no charge. I only need to fax in a copy of the receipt. It may take a couple of weeks but one was on the way. I did as requested and patiently waited... Still nothing after a month. I contacted Samsung support requesting a status update. I was told they never received the required information. That they tried to call but received no answer so closed the ticket. If I need more help to go back to the support site and reply. Sadly the above is not true. I have the fax confirmation and my phone is the only one I carry; so I find that hard to believe. I went back to the site, filled out all of the info again and supplied the requested info. It has been another 2 weeks with no response. The sad thing is that It's not even a $30 part. The amount of my time that has been wasted and the fact that they have paid at least 3 people to correspond with me well out weighs the cost of the part. So long story made way too long; if you want stainless with a black kick plate, this is the one for you. If you want what is pictured...well...good luck. Samsung Makes Terrible Appliances and Zero Service

Samsung 24 in. Front Control Dishwasher in Stainless Steel with Stainless Steel Tub. Model # DW80J3020US Purchased at HOME DEPOT JULY 2016 FAILED January 20 2017 Price Paid: $450 after delivery and install DO NOT BUY THIS OR ANY OTHER SAMSUNG APPLIANCE!!!! Especially if you don't live right next door to a Samsung authorized repair technician. I purchased this dish washer and a refrigerator in July of 2016. Since that time the cheap wheels and trays inside the dish washer have fallen apart for no reason. I snap them back together, but the next use, they are off again. No big deal, just an example of poor quality. Bigger problems include: frequently doesn't complete a cycle forcing me to restart the entire wash because there is no way to start it from the middle of a cycle, leaves standing water in the bottom of the tub, and doesn't seem to get the dishes clean unless its only half full. No, it's not an install issue, it's just a completely substandard product. My real issue is that at the end of January 2017, the dish washer started flashing an error code that the manual said needed a Samsung Certified Service Tech to address. I called them, set up a trouble ticket, and was told that I would be contacted within 24 hours. No call back. Ever. Not that time or the 5 times I have called since. My second to last conversation was with someone who told me that it is an easy problem to fix, but that unfortunately they didn't have any service technicians in my area. I LIVE 30 MINUTES SOUTH OF INDIANAPOLIS!!!! They said that they needed to refer my case to an escalation team that would explore some options with me, and to expect a call back from them within the next 48 hours. 8 days later, still no call. This morning I called them again. I was told that the escalation team was waiting on me to send them the original purchase receipt before they could proceed. NO ONE EVER TALKED TO ME!!! They were just waiting for me to magically know that they were waiting. Ridiculous. I emailed the receipt to the agent while I was on the call, and then asked what they were going to do to make up for the poor service and the inconvenience of being without my dish brand new dish washer for a month. Samsung's response. Nothing. They see it as an opportunity to receive negative customer feedback and learn from their mistakes going forward. When I told the girl that wasn't going to satisfy me, she said that she could escalate my complaint to Samsung Corporate services, which ironically is an "outbound phone call only" department. HA!!! I'm supposed to wait for 48 hours to hear from them, but I won't be holding my breath. I'm not sure how any of that helped me, but it was the straw that broke me. I'm demanding a refund for both the Samsung dish washer and refrigerator I purchased from Home Depot, because Samsung refuses to honor the warranty that came with the product. Sorry for the rant. Do yourselves a favor; buy ANY other brand than Samsung. I am an actual customer. The serial number for the unit reviewed is available upon request. I received no compensation or consideration for this review from any source.

Our Bosch dishwasher of 12 years died a couple of months ago. I really like the brand but only a handful of repairmen service Bosch and the parts are hard to come by. So I did an EXTENSIVE research of dishwasher brands and reviews. I originally decided to go with Kitchenaid because they get such great reviews. They are more expensive but everyone says they make the best dishwasher, along side Bosch.....but I didn't want to deal with the repairman/parts issue. I considered the Maytag but the one in our price range got pretty bad reviews. Both of these brands are made in the USA which is important to us too. After plowing through more reviews than probably necessary I came to a conclusion. Most of the dishwashers in the $400-$800 have very similar complaints and number of stars so why spend an extra few hundred dollars when the reviews are so similar. We ordered this Sumsung dishwash because it was the lowest priced with the most stars. We got it on sale for @$429. Free delivery, we installed. Here's the clincher....we bought the extended 5 year parts and labor warranty for an extra $70. I am very comfortable with this added insurance. Now, about the dishwasher itself. It works great. It looks sleek and modern to go with our kitchen remodel. It is nice and quiet. And let this be on the record.....I have know idea why people dishes are not coming out dry! This was my biggest concern. My dishes have consistently been come out dry. If a cup is a little concave on the bottom then there might be a little water there, but boo hoo. That's a first world problem. If you use the sanitize mode they will come out very dry. I experimented, skeptically, with the regular modes and the dishes all come out dry so I'm not sure why others are having this problem. One thing to point out....we keep our water heater set at a very high temp. People with kids might not want to do this because of scalding issues, but we like to take a lot of bathes so we set it high to accommodate that need. Maybe this makes the water in the dishwasher super hot and precipitates the drying process. No pun intended. So far, so good. And we have our 5 year warranty just in case.

Broken Spray Arm 15 months after Bought and more

So the top Spray Arm broke off. We do not misuse our appliances, in fact we had our old appliances from the 1990's that was in perfect condition, but we "upgraded" for a nicer look. The piece is cheaply made and the snaps that are in the piece appear to have broken off. So that was the final straw and now I am writing this review. The first two other things that have been annoying, but we have dealt with it are 1. The soap dispenser doesn't open during a wash so the soap doesn't come out. This happens about 30% of the time. We have tried multiple different soaps thinking maybe it was the soap, but no, it is a faulty latch on the soap dispenser. 2. When you push the bottom drawer in after you have loaded the dishwasher, it comes off the railing-guides and you have to manually realign it. Super annoying and that happens about 30% of the time. Overall piece of junk!!! So now, I have bought a replacement spray arm for $65. We are stuck with this piece of junk until we can afford another dishwasher. And trust me, it will NOT be another SAMSUNG. We also bought the matching SAMSUNG set and there is something messed up with the microwave AND the oven. What I don't understand is how you spend thousands of dollars on appliances and they are JUNK. It makes me so angry. The manufacturers make it look so nice, but inside is pure junk. I also do not feel like the sales person at Best Buy was honest about these products. He made it sound like they were great. But 3 of the 4 SAMSUNG appliances we bought there are messed up. Our next purchase of an appliance set will not be with BEST BUY either.

I had been researching dishwashers for a few months to replace my aging GE dishwasher. Everyone says Bosch is the gold standard in dishwashers, and I was about ready to pull the trigger on a Bosch ,but when I first came across this unit at the store, the price along with the "hard food disposer" option caught my attention. I've cleaned the filter on my old dishwasher several times, and it's truly gag-worthy. Anything that gets me out of having to manually clean a filter is an automatic bonus! Also, the Bosch units in this price range have a non-metallic (i.e. plastic) bottom tub. The Samsung is all stainless inside! I read some promising reviews on Best Buy, so I decided to give it a try. I've had this unit for 3 weeks and I'm glad I did! I got it on sale and had free delivery. I'm pretty handy, so I installed it myself. The good: Super quiet, cleans well, full stainless interior, adjustable racks and removable tines, fan-assisted dry, no nasty filters to clean, two silverware baskets (flexibility!) The not-so-good: Installation is a bit of a pain because of the channels on the bottom of the unit to route the water and power lines (make sure you buy a longer supply line than you think you need - at least 5, plus you'll need a 90 deg. elbow), doesn't really dry plastic well (but neither did my GE with heated dry), some tines are on the short side so top-heavy items may fall over, no time-delay setting (not a deal-breaker for me, but sometimes that's convenient), really long wash times compared to what I was used to (I think all the new ones are in the 2-hour range anyway). The Bottom Line: You can easily spend more than double the price of this unit and get some extra bells and whistles, but it's quiet, cleans dishes well, and looks pretty good. The full stainless interior plus the hard food disposer put the Samsung over the top at this price range.

I was so excited to get new appliances for my kitchen in my new house. Of course I purchased samsung which now I really regret. I had this dishwasher for 3 months and the computer in it went out. It actually ran for 14+ hours on "Heavy"(did not set it on that cycle) and drained all of my hot water, and ran my electric and water bill up like crazy. It wouldn't shut off until I unplugged it. And as soon as it was plugged back in it started running again even with the door open. I called best buy and they said they only cover the first 30 days so I was transferred to Samsung. They said they would get a technician to come out asap. Next day...no call from anyone...third day no call...I called samsung again. They gave me the repair company's name and number and its no longer in service. Day 4 no call from anyone and I call samsung again and this time they tell me they will try to find someone else but it takes 2 days to process the request...I was livid. So customer service rep did not care at all about my frustrations. I am so disappointed! Ive had other products from samsung for a few years and no issues but now knowing how they handle repairs I will NEVER purchase from them again. This dishwasher is a piece of garbage!

My husband and I purchased this dishwasher 14 months ago. I made the mistake of not purchasing an extended warranty and I wish I would have. 2 months after the 12 month warranty expired our dishwasher stopped working and began showing error warnings for a possible leak (the heavy load light was blinking repeatedly.) We called Samsung and they refused to send anyone out, saying that is was not their product that was defective but rather Best Buy who installed the dishwasher incorrectly. We were later referred (by a friend) to a local company to come take a look and were told that these dishwasher are nothing but trouble. They are impossible to work on and they are not built to last. The technician was nice enough not to charge us for the service call and told us there were multiple issues with the dishwasher and we'd have better luck just purchasing a new one rather than spending hundreds of dollars in repairs and labor. I will never buy another Samsung appliance again. Do yourself a favor and read the reviews on Best Buy and google them as well. The issue we experienced is VERY common with this make and model. I wish I would've known before.

    Stay away from Samsung dishwashers

    Posted
    Momo

Bought a Samsung dishwasher from Best Buy three years ago for a cabin in north Georgia used only in the summer. It stopped working in May. Six repair companies refused to come look at it. Then, an authorized Samsung technician failed to show up a month ago. A second company -- also authorized -- was scheduled and then called to say they were no longer working with Samsung. The repair folks said the dishwashers were terrible, the company was not great on technical support and parts were hard to get and pricey. I escalated the issue to a Samsung customer service supervisor and he ultimately sent me to Sears Repair Service as he couldn't get anybody else. The guy just left -- he said the main control board and the pump were bad and it would $780 in parts. He noted the dishwasher looked brand new -- probably used 50 times. Tomorrow, it goes in the trash and I buy a reliable Whirlpool. The general view of the repair folks was Samsung has not mastered dishwashers. My experience bears that out. While it worked, it was fine and quiet. This one probably came with bad parts but the warranty expired after 2 years and it stopped worked in 2.5 years. So again, stay away. When so many repair companies flat out tell you, "We don't work on Samsung dishwashers," you know there is a problem.
