yikes!
Posted .This is actually a nice refrigerator. But, the ice maker is horrible. Cubed ice comes out crushed. It backs up a lot. And, the inside of it has a lot of built up frost- which probably clogs it. I have reset it, called customer service, but no avail. There was some complaints about the icemaker that I read in reviews. I should have listened. Also, a week after I got the refrigerator, I was cleaning the door with a soft cloth and stainless steel polish. The cloth caught the "S" on the Samsung decal, and took the "S" off. I called for a new "S," or a whole new sticker set. Samsung said, "no way, that is a cosmetic thing." To come out and fix it, they would have charged me for a service call. I just need an 'S!' And, it was only a week old! So, the fridge looks dorky as an "AMSUNG." I actually called again about the sticker and they still said no. So, instead of buying an Amsung stove and microwave to match, I recently bought both Whirlpool. Samsung lost our continued business over a sticker?????? Of an S!!! Not recommended! One more thing- the top shelf is low, you will not be able to fit 2 liters or gallons of milk on ANY of the shelves, so keep the shelves on the door clear! Kinda odd, really.

Consumer Reports #1 Pick For A Reason
||Posted .We looked at several fridges under the $1700 mark. We liked several of them but none had the features this one did. The Twin Cool is really nice and works great. Our veggies are lasting longer than with our prior fridge. There is plenty of space in the body of the fridge and freezer but door space is lacking. With only 2 gallon sized bins in the fridge door, we had to buy a third gallon bin online to accommodate what we keep in the doors. The doors have pre-defined mounting points that space the bins very oddly. There is a lot of wasted space in the doors because of this and it would be easy for them to fix. The ice maker is small as some people have complained about in other reviews, but for our family of 3 it seems to be just fine. We have never run out of ice, even when having friends over for game night. The one down side we found with the ice bin is that it is cumbersome to get into if you wanted to just reach in and grab a cube or two. I like to grab ice out of the bin at night when others are sleeping without having to make the noise of using the dispenser in the door. We have also noticed that the fridge is a little noisy when running. It's most noticeable at night when reading and there is no background noise of the TV or radio. For the most part though, during the day we rarely hear it running. The last thing we would improve would be the lighting. The lights are in the back. Once the fridge fills up with stuff, it's hard to see inside. I would move the lights to the front of the fridge, put one at the top and a pair on the sides (like Whirlpool does). Overall it is a great fridge for the price. Our concerns are nit-picky and minor. It's a great fridge with nice features and can't be beat under $1500. The $75 Energy Trust rebate in Oregon was a nice bonus too.

So Far so good!
||Posted .We got this fridge as an open box item and have been very happy with it over the last 2 weeks. We needed a stainless steal fridge to complete the kitchen but the 16 cu ft white hand me down fridge worked perfect for our family of 2. But when I found this one for just over $750 with tax I couldn't pass it up! I'm not a huge fan of side by sides usually but this one is more then big enough to fit a pizza box and I actually like having the extra shelves for organization. We have never had a through the door water and ice maker before and we love that too! Although the lever you push with a glass to get the water and ice us a little firm and we did brake a guinness glass. It is a little tricky to fill a small mouthed 32oz Nalgene bottle but can be done and when you select crushed ice it tends to spray everywhere. The ice maker is a bit loud when the ice drops but you can turn the ice off if you don't want the noise. The ice maker is a bit bulky compared to other fridges like the LG design but we have plenty of room and are debating wether to keep our deep freeze or not now. Over all for the price we paid it is great!!!!!! No no real complaints for our first "real" fridge.

Initially skeptical but pleasantly surprised
||Posted .Going by all the reviews for this fridge, I was pretty torn as to which one to buy. I went with this one, because having researched fridges (of all companies) for a month, and gone to all kinds of websites for reviews, etc, this particular model was coming up as better than the rest. I've had this fridge for about four months now and am very happy with it. It's very quiet, efficient, well designed on the inside (shelves, etc), and looks good! The only thing that's not 100% perfect is the ice dispenser. It just takes some getting used to....initially, ice was falling out of our glasses, onto the floor, whenever we tried to dispense some ice. However, with a little bit of practice, we learned to hold the glass right up into the dispenser, leaving no room for falling ice on the sides. We don't use huge amounts of ice, so I can't comment on the speed of the ice maker. Some people may like to take note of the side panelling of the fridge, which is grey (not the normal black), which I think blends much better with the rest of our kitchen. The delivery service itself from Best Buy was flawless. All in all, a great purchase! I will update this review if anything changes.

Superb appliance for mid-size kitchen
||Posted .- I investigated and read reviews by previous buyers before purchasing and chose this Samsung Side-By-Side over french door and bottom freezer designs (including other manufacturer). - Ample space in both refrigerator and freezer, glass shelves and plastic bins. Well lighted with LEDs. No more issues of food items falling behind shelves or bins. Spills contained. Easy to clean. - Freezer: Ice maker in freezer door adds more storage space. Buy online an additional freezer shelf for better utility laying items flat or small containers. Freezer drawers are bonus to hold items lended to freezer burn (meats, cheeses, breads) and smaller items. - Really like dual cooling with separate systems running freezer and refrigerator. Must READ manual to learn operation of cooling systems and monitor temperature ranges for kitchen. - Refrigerator: Good adjustable shelves to accommodate food item height, but should be pull out to reach back items. "Wine rack" good for all bottled products (soda, juices, tall-weird shaped) and can tuck small, flat items underneath. LED lighting doesn't go all the way down to bins. In-depth butter/diary upper shelf. Door shelves adequate to fit all needs. Great bins, 3 total, one for meat/cheeses, one for cool climate veggies, and one for fruit or warm-climate veggies. Front In-door control panel & water/ice dispensers: Must READ manual to learn how to operate. Water dispenser is installed pointing towards the rear for easier filling of glasses but not ideal for filling pitchers, coffee pots and/or tea kettles. Water does not turn off causing spills down front and difficult to wipe down. Recommend switching back to ice after using water to prevent inadvertent spills. Front: Stainless-steel platinum holds magnets AND water stains, fingerprints & streaks. A cleaning nightmare -- use micro cloths or magic erasers with "elbow grease". Water filter (expensive) is located at bottom for easier re-placement.

Good Refrigerator so far no issues
||Posted .We had the refrigerator for about one month so far no issues. Keeping our fingers crossed. My kids like the way it looks and the fact that they have more items on the door shelf (Gatorade, yogurt,...). We like the water and ice features. We were hoping for more flexibility with the shelves. But they do the necessary job. Interior lighting is not the best but it works. If you have a full fridge the light is dim.

Nice
||Posted .Great product. A little pricy but worth it. I like the design of the fridge.it fits a bunch of stuff. I would highly recommend this product to all the families out there with kids. Food stays nice and cold and the refrigerator is energy efficient. The value is definitely there for the price. A lot if freezer space as well which is nice when you are stocking up. Not sure what else I can say. It's a really good value and I do recommend this item.

Solid Performer
||Posted .Samsung side by side fridge has been a solid performer for the last 3 1/2 years. At 25.5 cubic feet, It has plenty of space with adjustable shelves. We have had zero mechanical or electrical issues, the only knock on the unit is that the model does not have a water catch under the dispenser. This leads to water running down the face of the fridge and "streaking" it. Had Samsung designed a better tray/catch, this unit would have been rated at 4.5 stars.

Q: QuestionHow long should it take for the ice maker to fill the ice bin?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Thank you for the question. There are a number of variables that can effect the time needed for the ice bin to be filled, so following are some tips and guidelines for you to use in determining if your RS265TDRS is working properly. If you have just installed your refrigerator, it can take as much as 24 hours for the freezer to reach the temperature necessary for ice production to begin, depending on the difference between your room's temperature and the set temperature; the temperature of the food that's been added to the refrigerator and freezer during the cooling process; the humidity level; and how often the door is opened while cooling. The freezer temperature must be 5ºF or lower for the ice maker to work properly, and Samsung recommends setting the freezer temperature at -2°F. Once ice is produced, you should throw away the first three batches (approximately 30 cubes) to ensure the ice is being made from clean water. Your Samsung refrigerator should produce about 120 ice cubes per day, which is in line with most manufacturer specifications. If your freezer is producing less than that, make sure the water valve is turned on and consider changing the water filter, since a clogged filter could effect water flow and ice production. To speed up ice production, press the Power Freeze button on the control panel. In the Power Freeze mode, both the compressor and the freezer fan run for 10 hours continuously. The ice making interval is reduced from 90 minutes to 55 minutes. If the ice bucket fills in less than 10 hours, Power Freeze stops automatically. - Ms. Samsung

Q: QuestionMy Samsung RS261 icemaker is not producing ice. When I push the test button, it works though. Is it a sensor? Can I replace this sensor easily? Is this described in the manual?
Asked by scott.
- A:Answer Is the ice bucket properly set in the catch position? There may be a circuit breaker contact that is not making a good connection.

Q: QuestionDoes the water dispenser area come with a drip tray?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes it does, but it only holds about a half an ounce. So almost any water that drips will end up going down your front door and on your floor. This was a poor design and according to Samsung many people complain about it.

Q: QuestionAre the white Samsung refigerators magnetic?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, magnets will stick to the RS265TDWP and other white Samsung refrigerators. Thanks for the question! Ms. Samsung

Q: QuestionIce MakerI know that the ice maker can be turned off from the front panel. However, does the ice maker turn off when the ice in the bin reaches a certain level?
Asked by Mach.
- A:Answer Yes, the icemaker in the RS265TDRS has a "feeler arm" that tells the icemaker to stop making ice when the storage compartment is full. Thanks for your interest! Ms. Samsung
