Samsung’s 26.5 cu. ft. large capacity, 3-Door French Door Family Hub Refrigerator, is beautifully designed with a minimal dispenser and sleek-edge doors with modern handles. The clean lines and modern form blend beautifully into any kitchen, while the fingerprint resistant finish withstands everyday smudges.
Q: Does this refrigerator use just wi-fi or bluetooth and wi-fi?
A: It is Wifi, not bluetooth. Before further consideration, make sure that Samsung provides a guarantee on firmware and software updates. The apps on my Samsung fridge no longer work not because of the developers (Google, Weatherbug, AP news, etc.) but because Samsung stops supporting the appliance. Without software updates, the apps will not function.
A: I had this same question since this Family Hub is basically running Android but with Samsung's overlay on it. I called Samsung in June 2020 and spoke with a representative who said that Samsung is still updating software for their first model which came out in 2016. So we're talking about 4 years at the time of this post. The rep could not answer the question (she didn't know) I asked her as to how long would Samsung provide software updates to their Family Hub refrigerator. One thing to remember is that this Family Hub, like tablets, smartphones, computers, etc...only so much can be downloaded, only so many updates. There will come a point in time in which it will not be able to run any more updates. I am considering one of the Family Hub models but the track record isn't long enough to know just how long Samsung will continue to push out updates. For an example, maybe the updates will continue to arrive for 5 or 6 years but no more updates beyond that. If you have the refrigerator for 10 years but you will possibly have a hub that is running slow in part because it has taken all the updates it can hold and you will have to live with that until it's time for your next refrigerator purchase. If the hub goes out completely and outside the warranty period then you are just stuck with a refrigerator with a non functioning hub on it. This is just some things to take into consideration and is not to discourage anyone from purchasing it. As I have stated in this post I am considering one of Samsung's Family Hub models and will make the best decision for my home.
Q: Will this work with Apple product and will it work with Alexa? Thanks
A: Yes . It will. The bigger issue Is the ice maker. Do your research.
Q: Does this fridge come with a water filter at purchase or do I need to purchase separately?
A: Great question, Phil! The refrigerator does come with a water filter. Samsung does recommend replacing the water filter about every 6 months, depending on usage. ^Jecca
Q: Has anyone had this frig for over 1 year with working ice maker?
A: 2 months and the ice maker seized up. Had to thaw out. Apparently this is common. Should have gone with another brand. $3k and already having issues SMH
Q: Can you view items in the refrigerator from your phone or just from the hub on the refrigerator?
A: From both. You can view the inside of the refrigerator from the hub and the app on your phone. Hope this helps.
A: You can download the manual from the Samsung website and see all the measurements and diagrams necessary to make a decision. I hope it fits, it's an awesome refrigerator.
A: Well since I just went through this myself if you have a samsung model RF28R7201SR you can purchase part. #DA97-17299E dispenser cover and install it and you will have an operational light for the disenser. Yes it works because i just did it and Samsung told me i had to buy the door. But I had found a post on Samsung members about this but Samsung deleted anything pertaining to this issue.
