Samsung 28 Cu. Ft. 4-Door French Door Refrigerator
This is our first "drawer" refrigerator. It is very attractive and "big", but I think it could have been architected a little bit better. I'd have preferred it be a few inches wider than deeper. I think the ice maker in the door rather than both in the door and in the fridge would have made for better shelf organization and efficiency. The left door with the cold seal closes a bit loud and rough, which also wouldn't be as big of an issue if the ice maker was just in the door and not half-door and half-fridge because there wouldn't be shelf storage banging each time the door closes. There aren't any "tall" shelves for taller drink containers like wine bottles or large milk or tea jugs. You can adjust one shelf so that it slides back to make a taller shelf, but only half-deep, so it really isn't very much "tall" shelf room. Or you can remove one shelf on the same side as the ice maker, but there again, because the ice maker is both in the door and in the fridge, you're only getting half as much "tall" shelf space there also due to the ice maker parts that are inside the fridge itself. I wanted an ice maker, but I didn't realize exactly how much fridge space that would take up and again, I think it's the design and not unavoidable, with a redesign since fridges have had ice makers for decades and they have been better designed to maximize space before. It would possibly be better to be able to rearrange and customize the shelf space as needed. I'm adjusting to this "drawer" storage idea, but so far I'm not sure its better and I'm wondering how much fridge and freezer space I've lost to the door/drawers division. It is technically a bigger fridge, but I don't know if it is actually roomier than my older, slightly smaller fridge because of the ice maker and shelf design and I'm not sure it would be bigger on its own, if I hadn't kept our old fridge for the garage. I've only had this appliance for a week. My purchase date was 12-1, but it wasn't delivered until 12-24 and it would have been 12-30, if I hadn't logged into my Best Buy account and noted I could move the delivery up, which Best Buy said they would inform me of if it was possible, but no one did - I might have been able to have the fridge much sooner if I'd logged in sooner and checked for earlier dates, but I took them at their word. So, I'm still getting a feel for it. It is very attractive and very quiet.
We were leery when we read several negative reviews, But then we realized that virtually EVERY fridge out there has lots of negative reviews, so we decided to roll the dice with this unit which is beautiful and has all the features we were looking for. We’ve had it a month.
It initially cooled down faster than I thought and was making ample ice in about 24 hours. The flex drawer’s configuration is easy to adjust and is perfect for deli meat and bottled beer. I haven’t measured with a thermometer, but I can tell that the right door where we keep milk is not as cold as the main body of the fridge so I keep the temperature a degree colder (36) than the recommendation. Plenty of space in the freezer with an extra, shallower storage above the deep one so you don’t have to dig around as much.
Ice maker works great, but crushed ice (which we virtually never use) comes out uneven and tends to leave a bit of residual ice on the chute which will melt and drip into the reservoir. Not a huge issue unless you use lots of crushed ice.
You can control the temperature with your phone which is neat, I guess, but useless to most people. If your kids leave the door open, you’ll get a message on your phone so you can call home to give them a verbal tug on the ears.
Aesthetically, the fridge is beautiful. Clean lines and relatively unobtrusive branding. Overall we’re happy so far.
The refrigerator itself is nice but I had to exchange immeditely because it had remarkable scratches at front. The customer service exchanged the refrigerator after a couple of days. They offered choices of gift card or replacement but we chose replacement. No complain so far about the refrigerator itself.
Love our new Samsung fridge. We had a similar size for our old fridge but our new Samsung is much better designed and some how fit more food. The compartment layout was great. Installation by Best Buy was right on despite not been in easy 2nd story kitchen location.
We have the fridge for more than a week now and we are so happy to replace our old GE refrigerator with Samsung one! It works silently. It has so much more space that it can hold 30% more stuffs than our old one. One issue that I have is not able to connect to the WiFi but I am yet to check the manual. We are really happy with this purchase and hope this will last for really long years!!
Bought this product back in May....long story short, I am now on my 3rd unit. The first was swapped after 5 days because the freezer wasn't keeping temperature. The second, I just received notice from Samsung that it is unrepairable, We noticed there was condensation over everything and our food was getting moldy quickly. After some investigation, the unit was blowing 84 degree air out the back vents (see pic). These temperature swings caused everything to have condensation. In order to keep the food cold, I need to set the refrigerator to the lowest setting. The tech said the inside temp was 8-10 degrees above the setting.
The worst part is dealing with Samsung support. It has been a week and they said they are still reviewing my issue, despite the fact that the tech got confirmation it was unrepairable. Now I get to wait 2-3 more weeks to get another. I requested another but they said since Best Buy swapped it, they didn't have a record of it so they couldn't count that as a failure.
The unit itself was ok, but if it doesn't keep a constant temperature, what good is it? At least the fingerprint resistant finish is nice.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us, Mark. We are pleased to hear that you're already in the process of getting this resolved and will use this feedback to better the Samsung experience in the future. ^Lo

Love my new Samsung refrigerator. It’s the perfect size and it has different compartments for all kinds of food and drinks.
A:AnswerNo, the new ones are not an improvement. We have an older one that's been running just fine for a few years now, but the one we bought three quit working overnight and all the food has to be thrown away.
I even called Samsung and they said that it's normal for their new refrigerators to fail that way. Just throw everything away, reboot it, and fill it back up again. They say it just happens at random. It could happen again tonight, or it could run for a few months. They say it's normal.
A:AnswerYes according to the manual and the door design, there should be a long and narrow freezer door bin. Our older (2008 Samsung french door) refrigerator had one and the manual identifies it too. I went back to the store and none of their floor models came with the door bin. The sales staff had no idea, of course. Now I'm looking for information on the freezer door bin and WHY it doesn't seem to be included.
I'm including picture of the location, door support points and the manual illustration with bold print of the component name, "door bin".
Anyone know why it's not included?
A:AnswerGreat question, Rfullhouse! This model actually has 2 different options depending on exactly what you want. There is an Ice Maker button that will turn the ice maker on/off. There is also a Dispenser Lock feature that will prevent the dispenser from dispensing any water or ice until it is unlocked. ^Jecca
A:AnswerHi Tristian! It is normal for the refrigerator to take up to 24 hours after installation to fully cool. If you're still concerned about the FlexZone temperature after that, I recommend looking over the information in this link: https://bit.ly/2QbS7rj. ^Jecca
