One of the benefits to convection cooking is its ability to seal in moisture and flavor, which should help to prevent foods from drying out. What's unique about this model, and what you're probably referring to, is the oven divider in the center which enables the easy conversion from a spacious 5.9 cubic foot single oven to the efficient and convenient double oven. The biggest difference between these two models is that the FTQ387LWGX has a traditional large single oven, while the FE710DRS's Flex Duo feature enables an easy conversion from the large single oven to a double oven, simply by inserting the included divider. The single oven capacity of both models is 5.9 cubic feet, but when the FE710DRS's divider is inserted, it becomes a double oven with independently-controlled upper and lower cavities. In double oven mode, you can use just the upper or lower oven, or cook two completely different items simultaneously, like baking a pie and broiling seafood, without mixing flavors! Q: Where are the heating elements located, especially for the top oven?
A: Thanks for the questions. The FE710DRS has a bake element in the bottom of the 5.9 cubic foot oven cavity and a broil element on top. The Flex Duo partition does not have a heating element, so when it's in place, the upper oven is heated by the top broil element and the lower oven is heated by the bottom bake element. Because of this, the options for using the upper oven include Convection Bake, Convection Roast and Broil; the options or the lower oven are Bake and Convection Bake. The Flex Duo oven is designed so there is virtually no transfer of flavors between the two oven compartments when the partition is in use, though there is some transfer of heat. Page 30 of the User Manual provides the minimum and maximum temperature range of each oven when the other is in use. Q: is the stainless steel surface smudge proof?
A: Thanks for your interest. The real stainless steel surface on the FE710DRS range is not fingerprint-resistant or smudge proof. There are a number of products available at your local Best Buy store specifically designed to clean real stainless steel. Simply follow the instructions on the package. Another option is to apply a small amount of baby oil to the stainless finish using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth. Q: How do you clean the divider tray?
A: Its super easy to clean with soap and water. Its a smooth surface that has no heating element so it doesnt "crust" bake food on. If you spill on it, wash it right away and dont leave it to bake on for 6 months.

A: Thanks for the question. Being able to use just the upper or lower oven on its own to save energy is one of the advantages of the FE710 range, so yes, it's fine. If you select Convection Bake, the set temperature is automatically reduced by 25°F by design. If Convection Bake is not selected and you've determined the temperature is as much as 25°F lower than the set temperature, here's more information to consider. Since electric ranges maintain the set temperature by cycling the elements on and off, the actual temperature can fluctuate somewhat. In addition, it is common within the industry for there to be a variance of up to ±25°F between the set temperature and the actual oven temperature, though Samsung ranges are designed to have even less of a variance (±10°F to 20°F). If necessary, you can adjust your oven's thermostat by up to ±35°F to compensate for the variance by following the instructions on page 53 of your user manual, which can be downloaded as a pdf file from Samsung's website for your convenience. Regarding the dishwasher, I would suggest you refer to the cycle chart in the back of the user manual for the estimated cycle times which can run from 59 to 157 minutes depending on which cycle is selected (these estimates may vary from your model, but you didn't specify which model you purchased so I'm unable to be more specific). In addition, please note that cycle times may vary depending on incoming water temperature and pressure, and which options are selected. Factors that can effect the dishwasher's performance also include the temperature of the incoming water (Samsung recommends setting your hot water heater at 120˚F), and your home's water pressure (which should be between 20 and 120 psi). The user manual and Samsung's online troubleshooting guide can help you ensure the nozzles are not clogged, detergent is dispensing properly, and the dishwasher is loaded in such a way as to enable proper cleaning, all of which can effect the performance. The FE710 user manual also contains some very helpful information with regard to preventing discoloration of the ceramic cooktop since the most common cause is the use of cookware that is not recommended. If your refrigerator is reverting to the demo mode, as indicated by the letters "OF" on the display, this can be easily remedied by following the instructions in the user manual for activating/deactivating "Cooling Off" mode; the buttons to press for this mode vary by model, and since you didn't specify which model you have I'm unable to be more specific.
