Q: Questionwhats the differance between 60 hz and 120 hz on lcd televisions?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The Hz of an image is frequency of the signal that is being sent to the TV. Although in this case, the term also refers to the frames per second the image is displayed at. A 60Hz image is shown at 30 FPS, and a 120Hz image is shown at 60 FPS. The more frames per second, the smoother the motion (especially for fast action sports or movies) and the more of the signal you will see. -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionClosed Captioning for general TV viewing - B530 or B550?In an earlier question regarding a Closed Captioning feature, the answer indicated that the Closed Captioning option could be activated after inserting a DVD/BluRay disk, as a setting of the disk itself. Does either B530 or B550 models offer the Closed Captioning feature for general TV channel viewing --- NOT DVD/BluRay?
Asked by Kate.
- A:Answer As a matter of fact, the 5 series units do have closed captioning. In order to access it, you can head into the TV's menu, then into the setup sub-menu to access the CC options or to just activate it, press the CC button on the remote control. However, CC is only available via the coax cable since the CC signal has to be sent by your service provider. CC, as far as I know, is not sent via HDMI or other secondary connections from your service providers set top boxes. Captions are subject to your service provider’s availability. -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionMy new 32B530 tv has great color but faces seem to be a little blury and picture looks like it was stretched out. Would HD cable correct?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Thanks for the question. This seems like a simple case of the size setting being incorrect for your content. To correct this, head into the TV's menu, then to the Picture sub-menu you will see the "Picture Options" option. Click into that and you should see the "Size" option on the next screen. This option allows you to adjust the screen size of the source you are currently on (from 16:9 to wide fit to 4:3). Try adjusting this until your picture improves. -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionWhich TVI want a 32 in tV that will be used for only veiewing television broadcasts no gamming, which one do I need ?
Asked by Kl.
- A:Answer A great TV for cable/Satellite watching would be the same model you are asking the question under, the LN32B530. Since the LN32B530 offers a coax input with ATSC/QAM, you will be able to directly connect your cable connection into the TV and watch all of your favorite programing, with out the need of a set top box. That said, if you wanted your service provider's premium content, or you have a satellite box, you can use the component, composite or even the HDMI inputs on the TV to connect said devices. -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionDo I need anything other boxes to watch Direct TV ?Do I need anything other boxes to watch Direct TV ?
Asked by KJ.
- A:Answer For Directv, I believe they provide you with all the necessary equipment needed to decode the satellite signal and then send it to the TV (in other words, they should provide you with a set top box). That said, all you will need is the appropriate cable (HDMI is best, but you can connect the box to the TV with component or composite cables) for signal transmission between the Directv hardware and your TV. -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionCommercials vs ProgramsWill the sound stay the same or will it adjust to commercials.
Asked by New to HD.
- A:Answer As a matter of fact, all of the Samsung TVs offer the sound leveling feature that helps to "even out" the audio from programing and commercials. If you head into the TV’s menu, then under the “Sound” sub-menu, you will see the option “Auto Volume”. Clicking on this option will allow your to toggle the feature on or off. -MrSamsung
