Q: Is this machine affected by the recall for exploding machines?
A: I am shopping to replace one of the 'exploding washers'. Ours did not explode. It appears that Samsung has fixed the issue with a re-design of an internal bracket....so...all new washers are fixed.

Q: Will this washer atleast 3 years
A: Our's broke down in just over a year. Samsung has sent a repairman 5 times and it still is not working. Repairman says he has tried everything to fix it but Samsung tech support wants him to continue diagnosing it. It has been a month and we don't know how many more visits it will take. We do not recommend buying any Samsung products after this experience.
Q: what is the warranty on this washer
A: 1 year for parts and labor 3 years for the tub (part only) 10 years for the washing DD motor (part only)
Q: Does this model have an end of cycle signal, aka does it beep/buzz when done?
A: It plays a lovely musical chime(approx. 10secs)
Q: how many gallons of water is used per load?
A: This is an intelligent piece of equipment. Read the booklet. The machine will automatically adjust the amount of water required with the weight of whatever you put in your current wash load. This is an energy efficient piece of equipment. Initially, I lived in Henry County, Ga, (south of Atlanta), where I lived the water fees were quite high, so, I made sure that I bought a washer that would work in that environment, I was VERY pleased with my purchase.......
Q: Anyone has issues with dark color clothing coming out with dirt/white spots even after second rinse?
A: Yes, all my dark clothes especially black pants and jeans come out with the white spots and streaks. It's very annoying. I'm going to try wash the machine with vinegar and use less laundry detergent and hopefully this will help.
Q: How long does it take to wash a normal, large load of clothes?
A: Depends on how full the tub is, the machine determines the wash time by that and your settings. Anyhow, on the average, I would say between 45 to 55 minutes. Mind you, I don't fill the tub completely to the top with clothes. But, that all being said, our 20 year old Maytag used to take about 30 minutes to wash the same amount of clothes and it used about 30 gallons more water to do so, but the big thing is this: In most cases when washing clothes, I would be doing other things and by the time I got done with that and/or I remembered I had done a load of wash, more than an hour had flown by anyhow. LOL! We really like this washer and dryer pair...quiet, efficient and economically priced.
