Q: Question60Hz or 120Hz?!I've been thru all settings and different HDMI plugins of this tv using different components and yet still shows 60Hz when clicking info button on the remote control. How do i change the refresh rate to 120Hz? The specs of this tv model say I purchased 120Hz?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The Information Bar when you change channels or inputs will show a 60hz, signal, since that's the incoming signal. Most incoming signals are 60Hz. Your Cable box, Satellite box and even Blu-Ray player will send a 60Hz signal. If your TV is a 120Hz or higher television, the television will do its own processing to make the picture smoother and more lifelike. That will happen automatically, and *must* happen automatically. So it's correctly assumed that a 120Hz television will always output at 120Hz, since that's what must happen for a picture to be shown on a 120Hz panel. The TV upconverts that. The 60Hz simply indicates that your incoming signal is 60hz. We hope this helps explains that incoming indicator, and if we can explain further, please reach out and let us know how we can help. --Mr. Samsung

Q: QuestionDo I need to order separate Wifi internet service?Or will this TV simply connect to Yahoo & all internet upon command?? If I can avoid paying Verizon $50 a month by getting this TV (which I need one anyway) then I am definitely IN!! Thanks ... Cameron!
Asked by Cam110.
- A:Answer You still need internet service to connect your TV to yahoo (or anything else on the web). The tv doesn't need to be connected physically to your modem, just wirelessly to your router.

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between "smart capable" and designation of Smart TV? Also how would a Samsung hook up to a computer
Asked by TVgirl.
- A:Answer A smart capable television is a television that has an ethernet port allowing you to hook up a internet router to your television for viewing internet content, or you could simply go through an HDMI outlet if you have a blu ray player that has built in WIFI and get your internet connection that way. In contrast , a designated smart television actually already has the internet connection built in, via the built in WIFI feature, no need to use a cable to connect it to a router or an additional device like a blu ray player, the television is it's own smart device with different features and applications like Netflix built into it depending on the brand. Some brands offer more content than others, and some brands like a Samsung (A 40" 60HZ smart television by Samsung can be purchased on sale for around $479-be patient and wait for the sales) offer a built in web browser to surf the internet as you would on your computer, but it's a little bit cumbersome because you lack a keyboard, and the web browsing can be slow. Some people prefer to purchase a non smart television and purchase a Roku device to hook up and stream internet content that way. Smart televisions are more expensive, but if you must purchase an outside device such as a Roku costing around $100, personally I'd rather just have the smart television, less cables to hook up, less headache for me. There are many buying options, and I'm sure that a Bestbuy store clerk would be happy to walk you through those options, they've been very helpful to me. Getting to the hooking up a Samsung to a computer question, typically in order for your television to serve as your computer monitor it will need to have a VGA connection, and most Samsung television's that I know of do not have that connection. Bestbuy's Insignnia televisions, at least a few of the models, do have VGA outlets. Some brands like Philips smart televisions, a few of their models, which Bestbuy doesn't really showcase in the store, offer a way of streaming the content on your computer to your television display, but I haven't used Philips so I can't really say how well it does or doesn't work. Samsung smart televisions offer a way to stream (stream meaning that it will transfer to your television screen) through a feature that Samsung call's Allshare, content coming from another Samsung device, such as a Samsung phone or tablet, photos, but not movies and documents, your television will not be serving as a computer monitor, the only way to make it serve as a monitor is via a VGA outlet. Again, speak with a Bestbuy associate for more details about options.
