Nice Plasma for the Price
Nice Plasma for the PricePosted .
This is second plasma TV I've owned from Samsung. I got a 60 inch in the living room and this 43 inch in my bedroom. Boy these TVs rock!!! I love the vivid colors plasma provide. A way lot better than LED in my opinion. I got this 43 inch wall mounted and the price made me a happy camper... I'm breaking in this TV as I did with my last plasma. So I can get the best out of my TV. It's a great safety measure so it can provide longevity for your plasma. Just turn down your contrast, brighness, sharpness to at least 50 % for the next 150 hours. So far my 60 inch is 3 years and going strong... May not be 1080p, but man, it's hard to tell it's a 720p with the beautiful colors from 20 feet away...Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.

I've always been a Samsung (TV) fan. And this PN43F4500AFXZA 43" plasma HDTV is yet another reason I REMAIN a Samsung fan! I was reluctant to purchase a plasma. But after reading that the plasma technology has a higher refresh rate (Great for watching fast action SPORTS), I thought I would give it a shot. Can't go wrong for under $400! First, I watched a NFL game, and I felt as if I were sitting in the golden seats of Heinz Field WOW! Crisp and clear with smooth action. The depth of color was tremendous (although the reds and oranges do BLOOM somewhat). It took some time to tweak the settings just right, but when I finished, everything looked fantastic. I didn't need a Smart TV because I have several external devices which take care of streaming video and movies etc. Unfortunately, I was forced to eliminate one of those devices because of the LACK OF INPUTS on this TV. But I got over that issue quickly when I found that the built-in MEDIA PLAYER is capable of playing nearly EVERY VIDEO FORMAT that it's presented with!! MKV AVI MP4 even some FLV files ... BONUS!! XBox 360 displays just fine. No signs of burn in whatsoever. The sound is adequate after adjusting the audio equalizer settings for the speakers. Finally, there is one issue why I cannot rate this TV 5's across the board. The WHITES ARE DINGY and GREY. I watch a lot of ice hockey, and the ice surface looks grey and dull. But at this price point, I can't complain too much. If you're looking for a basic (non-SmartTV) the Samsung PN43F4500AFXZA 43" plasma HDTV should easily be considered one of the top seeds in your list!Sorry, there was a problem. this Samsung plasma is a awesome tv! I was not in the market for a new tv but I was in my local best buy and just looking around at tv;s and I saw the price on this samung, the picture is stunning! and the price was a steal at just under $400.00 bucks. I have 3 32 inch lcd samsungs in my home and I have been very satisfied with them. this is my first plasma I have ever owned and I will tell you it has the best picture I have ever seen! and being 43 inches it is very big, and the viewing angle is way better then any lcd I have seen, there is not a bad seat in the house! in my opinion Samsung makes the best flat screens on the market! if you are not for a smart tv and are looking for a awesome basic tv buy this one. I watch alot of sports and movies and this tv is excellent for them. the refresh rate can keep up with any fast moving action, no lag at all. it is a very thin tv, very thin frame or bezil. the picture is very true, colors are great and blacks are dark. this tv is worth twice as much of the reg price!! buy one while you still around. I could not pass up this deal, I am so glad I pulled the trigger on this one!!Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.

A Samsung for under 400!?
A Samsung for under 400!?Posted .I would recommend this to a friend
I'm here to write a review from the perspective of a long time avid gamer/blu ray owner. I'm not a casual customer, or have any kind of extra money to be spent on expensive TVs. this isnt a "spare" tv for a bedroom, like some others use it for. This was a huge investment for me, I'm writing this for the folks who are looking for a major upgrade for gaming and blu rays. The tv I had before was an Insignia 32in LED. It wasn't bad, but it's obviously squashed by this Samsung plasma. I've done a lot of research, and I took the dive for plasma over led/LCD because of the vivid picture clarity above all else. Plasmas were highly recommended several times over by gamers and casuals alike, so It was an easy decision for me. This tv is on sale for 379.99 right now, and if your in the market for a new bigger set sub 400, it's a no brainer. There are some drawbacks, but I will get to those in a minute. The best aspect of this tv is of course the picture. Being that its plasma it's rips apart the competition. LEDs are comparable but not as vivid and rich as the plasma picture. The style is great, being that its a Samsung it's very well put together. The menu options are ridiculous(in a good way) Very expansive in terms of color correction, white balance, black levels, picture sizes, you name it. I was very impressed. It took me a good day or 2 to get the picture perfect(I LOVE fiddling with the settings on TVs) for the average viewer it will take about 5 minutes. But I must have my picture perfect. The speakers are average but honestly a lot better than most of the HDTVs I've heard recently. Extremely better than my previous LED TV. By a mile. Moving onto this particular TVs weaknesses... The buzzing/humming noise that emits from just having the set on, this is in fact a regular occurrence for plasmas, so I was fully expecting it. But it does get quite annoying in the late hours of the night, in complete silence, it distracts from the low audio level you may be watching late night programming at. It's very distracting when playing or watching movies at their quite intimate moments. It's clearly audible at far left and far right angles, and directly center. There are angles that you can't hear the buzzing as much, such as just slightly to the left or right of the center. This is a non issue if you have a speakers and an epic audio set up, and love to watch and play loud no matter what! I've gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me as much anymore. On that, we move to another downside. The lack of input variety will cause issues for people. There are only 2 HDMI ports, and no proper analog audio. Nothing for headphones or average 2.1 systems. The component and composite inputs are shared. There is a USB port which alleviates some frustration, because I have USB powered headphones. It's disappointing but nothing I can't work around with adapters and switching out HDMI cords. Those are the 2 biggest problems I've had with the tv so far. There are other insignificant problems, such as screen glare, but that doesn't bother me much. It's a glass screen, so naturally it will be reflective, but it adds to the style in my opinion. Speaking of which, Some more strengths are the design, it's skinny, sleek and sexy. It's sturdy and made of metal. It emits a lot of heat but the power consumption is top notch, the navigation of the menus is very easy, and the remote (though very busy and cramped) has a glowing buttons for nighttime use. Video games and blu rays look utterly phenomenal on this thing, so, if your looking for a gaming tv, this is right up your alley. I'm currently playing through the Last of Us, and it completely annihilates what uncharted 3 looked like on my LED TV. This is some great stuff. The best of the best blu rays are just superb. The Dark Knight Rises blu ray (IMAX) scenes are breath taking and even the older blu rays with weaker transfers look great. The black bars are very deep solid black, they are not noticeable or distracting when watching, like they are on an LED. the viewing angles are amazing aswell(unlike an LED). There's no distracting edge flashlight effect. A tv like this makes you want to go back through your library of games an movies and rewatch/play them all! There's not much else I can think of to discuss about this tv that you may be curious about, other than to just buy it. If you don't mind the cons I mentioned above then you will be a happy camper I assure you. At this price it is the wrong decision to go LED or LCD, when a cheaper, quality plasma is waiting to be bought. Ive gotten over the humming noise as of now as the strengths greatly outweigh the weaknesses, I've come to terms. Overall when i brought this tv home and set it up, I was SLIGHTLY underwhelmed, but as of right now I've had a good week to sit on my feelings and i love it much more now. An easy 9 out of 10 for this size range and price range. The only worry I have now is its longevity haha, but so far so great, here's to hoping it lasts for a few years! This should work out fantastically for the PS4 and wii U!Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.

I bought this TV to replace my older plasma Samsung TV that had been damaged by lightning. Both have the same stats, so I knew pretty much what I was getting with this one. It's a little different from my old one, however. My old one had three HDMI ports, this one only has two. That's not too big a deal for me, though. I just switch them out whenever I need to connect something new. As far as the rest of the TV goes, I've had no problems with it. The picture looks great, just like my old one. Nice, clear colors. The sound is fine for me, though I know some people will complain it's a little weak. I've never had that problem with this TV or my old one. The TV is easy to set up. The stand is a little more... cheap than my old one. My old one was heavier with a more sturdy feel. This one is plastic. But again, it works like it should, so I can't complain. I did just discover there's only one button to turn this TV on with. This button alone controls the on/off, the volume and the channels. I've never seen a TV with only one button before. Took me a while to find it. It's on the lower left side on the back for anyone who's wondering. I suppose most of us won't be losing our remote, though, so that shouldn't be a problem, either. Anyways, my TV works perfect for me. It doesn't have a lot of features but I didn't buy it thinking it did. I just needed a nice, simple TV for me to play games on and this one works perfectly for that.Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.

Was skeptical, but WOW WHAT A TV!!!
Was skeptical, but WOW WHAT A TV!!!Posted .I would recommend this to a friend
So after reading all of the reviews about how AMAZING this TV is, I had to rethink my skepticism about going with plasma. I was afraid of burn in and image retention, but I found too many reviewers saying that they had no problems with it at all and that the TV had options to prevent these issues. I also read reviews that mentioned that this TV, even though advertised as 720P was still able to read and present the image at 1080P which I though, "No friggin way that's possible!" So after countless DAYS and WEEKS of research and getting input from message boards and the like, I decided that I should at least give this TV a shot. After all, it was on sale for $380 and comparable LEDs were at the very least $150 more (I'm not counting the Insignia or RCA brands as I was not going to settle for anything less than Samsung, LG, or at the very least Vizio) so what did I have to lose in trying it out? I'm ABSOLUTELY glad I did! Okay, the goods: The picture quality compared to my previous 1080P 3D TV blew my 3D TV out of the water! The motion and action is smooth and doesn't really hurt my brain like the other 120/240hz tvs with their clear motion (The "soap opera effect" people keep talking about, my eyes don't like it at all)! Gaming on this TV is AMAZING! There is literally NO INPUT LAG WHATSOEVER (And I play competitively on my 24" BenQ XL2420XLte which has a 1ms response time so that's saying something that I can enjoy gaming on a 43" TV!)! I am still fiddling with it, but there are SO MANY PICTURE OPTIONS it will blow you away! Anyway, the bad? My only real complaint is that it only has 2 HDMI inputs, a downgrade from my 3D TV which had 3. HOWEVER, for $40 on Amazon I can pick up a 5 port HDMI switch and problem solved! Only other thing I can think of is that it has a glass screen so glare is there, but it depends on your room, the lighting, where you sit, etc etc, so that isn't a real issue in my master bedroom where the TV is currently being used (in other words, it's up to you to decide if this would bother you or not as it doesn't affect my viewing pleasure). In short, this TV has blown ALL of my skepticism out the window and I don't personally think I could EVER switch back to LED/LCD ever again (aside from my computer monitor obviously, but that's a high end BenQ, so that makes a HUGE difference)! If you're on the edge of making a decision for plasma or LED/LCD, trust me, I've owned LCD/LED since they first started rolling them out (Still have on of the first LCDs I ever bought which still has Picture In Picture and does 1080i max lol) and I am NEVER going back to those (well, that is assuming I can still get my hands on the 51" Samsung Plasma that is 1080P also currently at Best Buy before they discontinue them or run out lol)!Sorry, there was a problem. Excellent TV for everyday use & a definite value

This is an outstanding TV for the price and, in particular, it's a great TV for a small office or man cave type area where there's not going to be a lot of window glare and you'll be watching sports. 600 Hz screen refresh just kills it over LCDs and LEDs, in my opinion. The right TV choice is based on where it will be located and what you want to do with it. There is no "LCD is better than plasma," or, "Plasma is better than LED." They're all pretty good nowadays. I think plasmas get overlooked because they are cheaper, so shoppers think they are not as good as their similarly sized LCD and LED brethren. I actually prefer them for my largest, home theater use TVs. After a few weeks, I'd say this one appears to be an exceptionally strong value too.Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
