Rivals LED Quality for much less $$
Posted .Let me start off by saying that I have owned many Samsung products throughout the years and I continue to buy from them because of their reputation for quality and design. They aren't always the cheapest, but if that's what your looking for... get a Dynex, RCA, or Sansui. However, if what you want is unrivaled quality and timeless design, look no further than Samsung. The TV: I knew I'd be buying a TV in early July 2010, so about a year ago I started becoming familiar with the market (release dates, new technologies, upcoming products, etc) When this TV came on the market it instantly hit my radar. For around a $1000 you get 120hz, Internet@TV, as well as Samaung Apps (a feature usually found on TV's well above $1,500), and all of the usual tech you'd expect from Samsung. I waited until the TV dropped to $999 (down from $1299). I decided to go with the TV because of the impressive feature list and amazing picture quality. Competition: This TV seriously rivals LED TV's around $2,000-$2,500. I originally wanted to purchase the UN46C6300SF (LED 46" TV). However, the TV did not include the Samsung Apps feature and I was told the TV is "on the way out" in terms of LED tech. So in order to grab the apps feature and the latest LED technology one would have to purchase the UN46C6500VF (originally $2,099 on sale for $1,699). By shelling out 70% more you get a TV that is 1/2 as thick, and has a higher contrast ratio (150,000:1 vs. 5,000,000:1). As far as thickness goes you can only tell the difference when you're looking at it from the side. The LCD model has a sleek bezel that almost tricks your eye into thinking that it's paper thin. (have to see it to believe it). Also, most untrained people would not be able to tell the difference between the two contrast ratios unless personally trained by a professional. Plus if you're going to spend $1,700 on a TV, you might as well wait a couple months and grab a 3D TV on sale. Long story short = LED is technology that is way over priced presently. Samsung Apps Store: This store is going to be REVOLUTIONARY in the TV business. All apps are currently "free" but some require a third party subscription like Netflix, etc. Pay apps are coming late this summer and you can think of this eco-system like the Apple AppStore. New apps are added to the catalog on a weekly basis. Make sure to check regularly for the latest apps by clicking on the “Internet@TV” button on your remote control. Overall, this TV and the features that come with it are unrivaled in this price range. The design is crystal clear and timeless, the picture quality is amazing, and the price is to die for. This TV will be on the market for at LEAST another 6-9 months so don't worry about becoming outdated. Be sure to purchase the warranty as well as the wireless LinkStick. P.S. This TV is IDENTICAL to the LN46C650 except this TV deletes the Yahoo widgets and adds BestBuy's own app software. Also, there is no RED crystal drop on the TV bezel of the 670 model, see the BestBuy or Samsung.com gallery for actual images. Worth Every Penny!
Posted .First I would like to say that I am coming from a 52" in DLP TV, once the Lamp blew out I went shopping for a new TV and gave the old one to a family member. I looked around for about 3 weeks before I came to this TV before my eyes on Best buy website. I learned everything I could about it before buying that being said; Picture Quality: I think this TV is the best there is out there on the market for 46" inches. and perhaps the best out there for the price its offering. The picture is very clear, and I mean CLEAR. almost "LED" like to tell you the Truth. HD looks simply amazing! HD from Comcast is perfect for this TV but to be honest I really don't think this TV is meant for SD at all due to the fact that once you see how clear it is you don't want to go back to SD. Also 1080p is wonderful, I'm using it for gaming and games look so good on Xbox 360/PS3. it has a Game mode but I use the TV for the 120Hz...Every game looks like its being tricked to run at 60 Frames per sec and that's a Good thing! This Samsung Blows my DLP Toshiba away! (oh and if you don't like the smooth motion just turn it off a lot of people don't like the "Soap Opera" look of movies) Sound Quality: All I can say is if your getting this TV for the sound, your not going to be 100% pleased. its good for a sound but not something mind blowing. Make sure you have a sound system if you want the best from this. I'm planning on getting mine soon...You can tweak the settings but I'm not a sound guy and don't know how to very well. the sound is good at what it does and that's giving you sound. but if you want more just get a Sound system. Features Pandroa, Netflix, Facebook, Blockbuster, Vudu, AP news, Accu Weather, Goggle maps, Twitter, You-tube, Games like Bowling and memory. and Now the TV even have Hulu Plus! Need I say more? I mean really What didn't they add into this TV? and if they didn't add Updatability with Firmware/apps can insure that there are more to come. I was shocked how You-tube went so smooth, Pandora is perfect, but Netflix can use an update with a user interface like on the Xbox 360 still good though. 120Hz is Great on this TV, PIP (Picture in Picture) looks good, All Share Media Does what its suppose to and allow streaming from PC with Videos, Music, Photos. Has a USB 2.0 on the side, Oh and Lets not Forget an APP from Apple's App store that allows you to use your iPhone/iPod Touch as a remote for the TV! Overall. Get this TV, if your looking for a 46' inch TV with all the Bells and Whistles then look no more Samsung has put there all into it without 3D or LED. Making you wonder if LED is even needed. I know its a downgrade from a 52' inch but its hardly noticeable and with all the Features I'm glad I got this TV.

After 15 mths the TV Panel had vertical lines
Posted .I purchased a 46'' LCD Samsumg HDTV 15 mths ago and the panel now has vertical lines throughout. Called Samsung and they said they would not do anything given that this issue happened just outside of the mfc warranty timeframe of 12 mths. $1800 down the drain. The customer service center said this is the first they heard of the issue. I beg to differ, search Google "Samsung Vertical Lines" before you buy and read all of the issues others are having...class action lawsuit in California against Samsung as well. Tried to place a similar review on the Samsung site but it was never posted...DON"T BUY A SAMSUNG. See my pic as proof.

Great TV
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendHad TV since Christmas. TV goes far beyond my initial expectations. With three children, was thinking why go premium price when half the viewing will be Barney DVDs, Nick Jr. and Disney Channel. But wanted "good enough" to enjoy football and hockey when I had the chance. This TV far exceeds my expectations and I am glad I did not spend $600 to $1,200 more for a set as I was comptemplating. * HD channels from Comcast look amazing. Out of the box was very good. Tweeked based on some settings found and AVS Forums. * Blu-ray also unbelievable (bought Toy Story III and Monsters Inc) * Football on HD looks great (120hz appears fine, not sure how 240hz could be much better). * DVD content is very good. So much so that will keep buying the kids' titles in DVD format unless it is a family favorite then Blu-ray. * Wii hooked up with component cables looks great. * SD digital channels actually very good. * Even hooked up old VHS player for the hand me down tapes we have accumulated. Here is where the picuture shows faults of analog source and low resolution. But the kids do not seem to mind. (PS... Miss the durability of VHS with kids. Many of our hand me downs are 10+ years old and still going strong. DVDs lucky to get 6 months out of heavy rotation kid favorites before the scratches takeover). Reflection / screen glare is not an issue even with a small window opposite TV. Off angle viewing is very good. Notice a minor loss of quality about 15 degrees off center but remains very good to about 35/40 degrees. The Sound is perfect for our needs. We only use the TV speakers. I remember reading that the relative thickness of this TV allowed for better speakers as compared to the thinner LED Samsungs. Can not confirm against the LEDs but can say the c670 is very good for occasional movie and regular TV viewing. Also like the extra number of connection options as compared to the thinner LED models. Does not requie the adaptors for hooking up component inputs like the Samsung LEDs. Last thing. When looking at the wall of TVs at Best Buy need to realize that the picture is not in HD. Ask and they will have a couple of TVs with HD feed. My TV (and I assume all of the others) actaully look better once you view with HD signal. I remember thinking early on that my old tube TV looks better than these new pictures on the wall. Why should I buy a new one. But bring it home and add HD and you will see the difference.

Samsung670 46"
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendHad this tv for a week now, ordered form bestbuy, learned a lot about todays televisons in the process, for instance the this tv is 120 hz and 1080p however, Comcast only broadcasts in 60hz at 1080i. Some experts claim that they doubt if we will ever see 1080p due to the huge amount of bandwidth it takes. Hard to tell the difference anyway, just the idea you are paying for something you will never use. Comcast remote will not work with samsung tvs, now I will always have to switch back and forth with 2 remotes. Picture is awesome! As others have complained, the speakers absoluteley suck! sucky suck! Fine for regular tv watching but you will need a sound system to enjoy movies/games. plenty of hookups, but I'm disappointed there is no SD card slot. My XBOX 360 gaming is great, I don't use game mode and notice no jerking. Internet is a little misleading, talks about getting HULU but it is HULU PLUS, which you must pay for. A lot of other free things, but most of the good stuff is pay for, which they forget to mention. youtube is great. Samsung apps all worked fine for me. Not too exciting though. I have yet to get netflix to work, just sits there, works on my xbox fine so it isn't the connection. Should have come up with a remote that has a keypad, hard to punch in text with a numbered key pad. That's the worst part about using the net feature. If you hate shiny screens like me, don't buy this, However, my Pana$onic had a matte screen and this tv is no more glareful than it, once it is on, the glare is not too bad like some tvs, the shiny trim around the tv is more annoying than the screen. Stand has plenty of swivel room. This has a lot of options so you should read the manual over coffee, turn OFF the eco option, very annoying! makes the screen go darker/lighter through-out watching. Overall I am very satisfied, not disappointed that I bought it at all. My Pana$onic lasted 5 years and then got stuck pixels so hopefully this will last longer. Don't forget this has a projection lamp which will burn out eventually so that will be an expense to remember. Around $100 as of this writing. you can usually change them yourself. Hope this helped. Amazing Picture
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI was looking at the 630 version of this TV and Best Buy had a deal on the 670, which I bought. The picture is amazing and startlingly realistic. I bought this with a Samsung BluRay player and that too blew me away. Setup was easy. I have an HD cable box, the BluRay player, and a Wii connected to it. The TV is also connected to the Internet with a Cat5 cable. It does not support WiFi out of the box, but for me that wasn't a big deal. I do not use it for any of its Internet features, but the kids like watching videos on YouTube. I watch football on the TV as much as I can, and the picture and sound is outstanding. Our unit is wall mounted and the picture is great from almost every angle. We sit 8' away on a 10' long sectional, and everyone can see the screen clearly without any noticeable degradation in picture quality. I went to look at other brands and once I saw the Samsung side-by-side with the other TVs, its picture stood out from the rest. The remotes are pretty easy to use, and the BluRay remote runs the TV and vice versa. The integration between the two is excellent! I strongly recommend this TV.

Great TV
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAs far as LCD TV's go at 120Hz you really can't beat the Samsung line of televisions. Especially at the sales price of $999 WITH a free Samsung wireless adapter to connect it to the internet! The big feature for me was being able to hook up my external hard drive directly to the TV so i could enjoy all the movies and TV shows i had saved that i used to have to watch on my PC. The quality of the movies on the TV is better than blue ray! I was expecting blocky because of the transfer from a hard drive. The great thing is that my wife has a Samsung laptop so with the All Share from Samsung we can stream videos, pictures and music directly from her computer. You can also download the All share program from Samsung's website and stream all the same stuff from a regular other brand computer as well. I was a little unsure of the smoothing feature that the Samsung TV uses, it almost makes shows and movies look fake- almost like a soap opera or something, but i think it is a good attempt at making transitions steady and smooth and for the movies it is amazing clarity. The TV has a great picture, easy menus, easy setup- despite others that are complaining about all that goes into setting up a new tv now days, it was really simple. I didn't even need the instructions, even for the wireless adapter which i never have used one before- it was self explanatory!! If you are an old person or not very techy then have geek squad come out and set it up! Ya it cost money but they also give you money back right now if you do sign up for the geek squad service so its almost like your not even paying for it! We have the 670 which is the high gloss finish, the 630 is the same tv but with a matte finish, we have bright light and big windows in the house and there is no problems with glare on the 670 at all. The TV just went on sale again for $999 i would definitely recommend this tv to anyone, even those that are lousy with technology ;)

Great Buy! after looking at many panels
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAfter doing a lot of research for a new panel I kept coming back to this one. My budget was $1,000 and this panel had the best features and quality for the price. You can't find this same model anywhere else, even on the Samsung web site, which was troubling when I was trying to make the final decision. I was looking at getting the C650 but I wasn't able to pick it up at any store in my area, only available online. This panel is the same as the C650 (i.e., 150k:1 DCR, 120 Hz with Auto Motion Plus, Ethernet connection, etc.) except it doesn't have the Touch of Color (TOC) on the outside casing. Also, it does have component connections, I know that was debated a few times in the reviews. The ethernet connection is a great feature, I love to be able to order Netflix and Vudu movies right from the panel, plus the other apps are a great convenience also. I have to say though the 120 Hz (Auto Motion Plus) in Standard and Smooth modes is almost too much detail when watching movies, I recommend using the Clear setting when watching movies. Overall the quality of the panel is truly superb, only a true eagle-eye could tell the difference between this panel and $2,000 level panel, because I sure can't.
Q: QuestionIs this LCD true 120hz or just 60hz with auto 120hz motion plus?...the maunual clearly states it operates at 60hz naive resolution.LN46c670m1f
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The processor on the Samsung 120Hz/240Hz units will always display at their respective Hz. Even when the signal is only being transmitted at 60Hz, it will always display at 120Hz/240Hz since the processor is always upconverting the signal. Activating the Auto Motion Plus feature will allow for judder reduction and blurring reduction, depending on what settings you activate. This will enhance your 120Hz/240Hz viewing. The reason you are seeing the 60Hz in the manual is because the TV can only accept a 24Hz/60Hz signal (coincidentally, there are currently no non-3D A/V devices that transmit a signal at over 60Hz). Meaning that the 60Hz you are seeing is the signals actual Hz and not the screen’s Hz. Rest assured, the C670 is in fact a 120Hz panel, and once Auto Motion Plus is active, you will be seeing an enhanced (as in frame interpolation and judder/blur reduction) 120Hz image as well. -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionDoes this TV have an ethernet port?If you go to the product details of the Samsung LN46C670 and then look at specifications it says this TV has NO ethernet port yet the other Q&A's in this forum say it does have an ethernet port. Does this TV have an ethernet port or not? Also can you get netflix movies using this ethernet port if it exists? or is their a firmware upgrade needed?
Asked by BobZ.
- A:Answer I have the TV and it's currently connected to my network via an ethernet port. It also has the ability to go wireless with an adapter that you can buy. But yes, it DOES have an rj45 port to connect to your network. You can get Netflix, Blockbuster, YouTube, Games, Sports, Weather, News, etc etc.... Once the TV is connected to your network, it'll ask you if you'd like to perform an update. It'll add a ton of the above mentioned Samsung Apps. Enjoy it, it's an awesome tv!

Q: QuestionHow do you play your ipod on the TV?I tried to hook my ipod to play, but for some reason I could only get two songs to come up and play, when I have over a hundered on my ipod. I have it hooked up through the usb plug, and tried to play it through the "media player" page, on the TV.
Asked by Jillbug.
- A:Answer You will not be able to play your IPOD through your TV without some type of Docking Station. You can connect to the audio input on your TV from the earphone output on the IPOD. The USB port is used for displaying photos or songs that you have stored on a Flash Drive.
