Great Set for day watching...
Posted .I bought this TV back in September to replace a 40" Samsung LCD. At first I couldn't believe how much better the picture quality was. Not to cut to the the bad, but I haven't had the best of luck with this set. I ended up exchanging my first TV for the exact same model because of what is known as "flashlighting". Essentially it looked like someone was shining a flashlight from behind the screen. I say I have bad luck because my 2nd TV has the same problem; just in a different area. This is most noticable in a dim/dark room. It makes it very difficult to focus on what I am watching as I am constantly looking for these spots. I know LED TVs tend to bleed, but I am not talking about bleeding. For $1500 I expected to be able to watch movies in a dark room without any problems. I am not sure what Best Buy is going to say in response to my email about this problem, but I am hoping for some sort of fix.

AWESOME
Posted .NETFLIX and internet have a much better picture quality and less iintruptions than with my DVD player with internet capability. I took pictures from Fox Tv and posted them on Facebook. Everyone thought I was at the last Shuttle takeoff. Very thin design, easy to set up and one outstanding picture.

The tv LOOKS wonderful!
Posted .I liked my roomate's 55 inch LN55c630k1f so much that I went in to get the 46 inch version (the 55 is too big for my condo). My budget was $1500 (what he paid for his) . I fell in love with the looks of this one with it's chrome "claw" base and 1" thin thickness. Also, the base would fit perfectly on my corner table. This one was $1499 for the package of blu-ray player and internet connector. I assumed the picture would be as good if not better than his. Wrong! The clarity is there, no question about that; but what good is that if the colors are wrong out of the box. The flesh tones of the people on most channels are red and pink. Sure you can change the flesh tone, but the other colors become subdued making for a poor colored razor crisp picture. I mainly just watch my HD cable box. I don't watch discs. Yes, I know to put it on "home" use. I've gone online and tried all the settings on the internet. It's just frustrating to get one channel looking good, just to switch to another and have the nasty red flesh show up again. I have an old Septre 37inch 1080p that has wonderful color out of the box ! The 55 inch mentioned above was fine out of the box ( factory settings). In my research online, one of the reviews had mentioned that the 55 (LNc630) had a better overall picture because it wasn't LED edge lit. I'm actually thinking of keeping this tv because it is so beautiful looking! But I guess I have to pack it up and trade down! Uuuuuuuuuugh! Oh yea, the internet dongle doesn't stay connected and it is very time consuming to set up the internet to the tv. Once connected the apps seemed ok but you had to type everything from the tv remote as if texting on an old cell phone! The idea is great, but it didn't work well.

My First LED TV...Nice!!!!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased this Samsung LED 6500 series model a couple of months ago. I wanted a flat screen, that unlike most LCDs, could offer a more vibrant and deep color contrasts similar to plasmas but Iwithout the higher risks of burn-ins like they do. I like its light thin 1.1 in. panel and unique crows feet stand. Although you can still notice some light bleeding thru along the edges(this is an edgelit LED ) like most LCDs, the contrast level is much more vivid and the HD channels look very stunning, especially in bright room environment. You can reduce the backlight setting if the edgelit light bothers you which would then increase the LED aspect ratio and also help save energy too. The Auto Motion Plus 120hz function is basically only useful when you watch HD fast-action sports(whic was the main reason in the first place) or HD animated shows or cartoons. Otherwise leave it off or set it to "Clear" mode. There are other modes also.(Smooth, Natural, Custom, or Off) The audio quality is average to decent depending on channel. which is whatt you expect for such a thin model, otherwise get a stereo system. Overall, a good tv with better picture contrasts than previous LCDs that I owned. I have yet to try out the internet options though.

Great introduction LED-LCD television
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendBefore you even begin to start watching movies and playing games UPGRADE YOUR FIRMWARE ON THIS TELEVISION. I cannot stress this enough for the people who have not done this. There are several ways you can do it and I found the easiest way by having the Samsung LinkStick Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter. Read the directions for establishing an internet connection. It is very precise in what it tells you to do. Be patient with this step as well. As for the television itself do not let BestBuy geek squad calibrate it for you. Waste of money. If you know what your room looks like, where the light in the room will be hitting the walls then your fine. If you can adjust brightness levels, contrast and dark features do not waste your money. READ THE MANUAL. The television has amazing amounts of settings for both audio, video, input selections (naming specific inputs) and the internet apps are fantastic. This television is not 3D. Only reason we decided on the UN46C6500VF over the 6300 model is because of the contrast. Do not try to compare contrast ratios between different television brands. Key word there being BRANDS. You can compare contrast between same brand televisions. If you want crisp colors with a heavy vivid picture spend the extra $200. Its well worth the $ for the quality picture.

Beautiful Picture, Lame Apps
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI was upgrading from a 32" screen after experiencing a friend's 55". I was looking for a thinner display with the true motion processor (whatever each manufacturer calls it) in it. This thing really delivered! Every image pops like a high-def soap opera. It took me about 2 weeks to get used to the effect and not really notice it as much to just enjoy what I'm watching. The colors are bright and sharp without being unnatural. I gave it an average for sound because all these TVs are designed for external audio and I didn't really test it beyond the first 10 minutes of setting it up. I ended up switching my my wiring around. I used to run my HDMI inputs thru my Samsung receiver and have a single HDMI going to the TV. I found I needed to run the inputs from my Tivo, PS3, etc directly to the TV and use an optical link for audio to the receiver. This let the TV remember game mode for the PS3 and movie mode for the blu-ray player. Game Mode is a must for playing games on this! The apps ... oh boy. Setting up the wifi (with the separately purchased adapter) was quick and easy. Sadly, the apps are nowhere near as easy. Agreements and endless accounts are frustrating and the settings don't stick all the time. The Yahoo! toolbar is underwhelming, with the facebook widget terribly useless for a family with multiple accounts. Pandora is acceptable, but the Pandora interface on my Tivo is better. I have Netflix on my Tivo, PS3 and now my TV. The Tivo interface is worse than the TV one, but the PS3 is more responsive than the TV, so we end up using that. None of the other apps were worth messing with. Like 3DTV, Internet Apps on your TV just aren't useful in a world of laptops and iphones and ipads. If this model came without apps and was cheaper, I'd buy that instead. One last thought, the stand is a big sideways knobby X shape. I know its a big TV and it needs a stable base. It would be nice if the stand was a big flat foot that didn't waste so much space.

Outstanding Picture, Beautiful Look
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendAfter doing my due diligence of online reviews and in-store comparison, I decided this little beauty of a screen needed to come home with me. The UN46C6500 features vibrant colors, deep blacks, and plenty of bells and whistles to keep you busy. The screen has very little glare, and looks fantastic in both bright and dark environments (our living room is super-bright during the day.) The entire set is quite attractive, and looks almost like artwork in our living room. The included stand is hefty and instills plenty of confidence that the screen will not tip over easily. There are more than enough ports to go around, and the internet connectivity is a nice plus (although the extra $80 for the USB wifi stick required for this unit is a bit steep for what you get access to.) Sound from the 10 watt speakers is decent...but if you're in the market for a screen like this, you probably already have or will be purchasing a home theatre sound system. The remote, while fairly basic, is at least backlit. Coupled with my high-end Sony surround sound system, I don't think I'll ever need to go to a movie theatre ever again. Viewing tv/sports/movies/games at home is now a true joy. Wired.com features this system at http://www.wired.com/reviews/product/pr_led_lcdtv_roundup (only a Sony Bravia beats it out, and not by much.) Highly recommended!

Ultra Thin and Crystal Clear Picture!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendIm just coming straight out of the gate with how awesome this picture quality is. I am definetly a person that nit picks every detail in a picture, sitting for atleast an hour or two tweaking the calibration to get the picture just right. Straight out of the box the Dynamic mode looks like garbage. But with a little changing of the settings, it looks stellar. The frame is flat black and has no glare at all which is a big plus in my book. It also has a small clear edge around the frame but doesnt really stand out. The stand is chrome looking, a bit flashy for my taste but i not a huge issue. The sound is average. I wont frown on it to much, but dont expect the sound to be as amazing as the picture. If you like the "home video/ raw/ un filtered" looking picture than this tv is for you. If not, just simply turn the 120hz off and it looks like a movie again. Sometimes if you set the 120hz modes to high, there is a bit of jutter, but nothing to serious. Overall, this TV is Amazing. Hands down. Below I'll list the picture settings that I found to be the best picture. Keep in mind, EVERY extra "enhancing" mode the TV offers is turned OFF. (Example: Dynamic Contrast, Edge Enhancement, Black Level, etc.) Backlight- 15 Contrast- 95 Brightness- 45 Sharpness- 20 Color- 50/50 Warm1
Q: QuestionWill the Dolby system in the C6500 prevent commercials from getting louder? We can't stand it when watching TV and then the commercial comes on and we have to dive for the mute button.
Asked by Purrera.
- A:Answer As a matter of fact, the UN46C6500 does have sound leveling. If you head into the TV’s menu, then under the “Sound” sub-menu, you will see the option “Auto Volume”. Clicking on this option will allow your to toggle the feature on or off. -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between the C6300 and the C6500?When I purchased the C6300, the sticker on the TV said it was backlit by LED's not Edgelit by LED's. Also, does this model have the 24p feature?
Asked by robert m.
- A:Answer I'm sorry for the confusion, but the terms "Back light" or "Back Lit" are blanket terms to encompass all of the back lighting technologies available. That said, the C6300, along with the C6500 are both Edge Lit by LEDs. The Back Lighting arrays aside, all of the 1080p Samsung TVs will accept and display a 24Hz (also known as 24p) signal. As far as differences, there are not many, but the the two biggest ones are: 1. The C6500 offers a higher dynamic contrast ratio (5,000,000:1 vs. the 6300's 4,000,000:1) 2. The C6500 offers internet@TV, while the C6300 does not. -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionDifference between between 6500 and 6900WHAT is different btween these 2 models
Asked by Barb.
- A:Answer The differences between the C6500 and the C6900 are: 1. the C6900 is a Best Buy exclusive, while the C6500 can be purchased at many different electronics retailers. 2. Although both these models offer Samsung Apps, the C6900 offers an additional feature called HotApps. HotApps add additional apps that are not found in the Samsung Apps store. 3. The C6500's dynamic contrast ratio is at 5,000,000:1, while the C6900 is at 7,000,000:1 4. The C6900 offers Precision Dimming, which dims specific arrays of LEDs around the edges to produce deeper blacks and more realistic colors. The C6500 does not offer this feature. -MrSamsung

Q: Question120Hz TV shows 60Hz when it is turned onAm I getting the 120Hz refresh I paid for? The set shows only 60Hz on the screen.
Asked by Lad.
- A:Answer Yes, of course you are. Your television is simply displaying the type of content that is currently being displayed. There is no such thing as 120Hz content, so when you are watching cable/satellite, over the air television, or even standard dvd's, your television will always display 60Hz. This doesn't mean that your TV is not 120Hz or that it's not using it's 120Hz video processing feature, it simply means that 60Hz content is being displayed right then. Try this: If you have a Blu-ray player connected, go into the menu and make sure that the 24p film feature is turned on. Then, pop in a blu-ray disc, switch your TV's input to whichever one you use for blu-ray, and then wait until the actualy film is playing (not the previews or the menu screen). Once the actual film starts playing, hit the "Info" button on your remote, your TV will display 24Hz signifying that it is currently displaying 24p film content.

Q: Questioni bought the un46c6500vf and suppose to be 120hz but the sticker behind the tv said its 60 hz why?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The processor on the Samsung 120Hz/240Hz units will always display at their respective Hz. Even when the signal is only being transmitted at 60Hz, it will always display at 120Hz/240Hz since the processor is always upconverting the signal. Activating the Auto Motion Plus feature will allow for judder reduction and blurring reduction, depending on what settings you activate. This will enhance your 120Hz/240Hz viewing. That said, the 60Hz you are seeing on the label on the back is referring to the compatible power stats and not the panel's operating frequency. The power stats should look something like "100-120v@60Hz", which is the North American standard. Again, this is the power requirement information and has nothing to do with the panel's Hz (which refers to the frequency at which the picture is displayed on the panel) -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionWill a Bose CineMate GS Series II Speaker System and a Samsung Blu Ray 6500 be easy to set-up with this TV?
Asked by MaryK.
- A:Answer Absolutely! There are a few options for connection between all your devices. One is to connect the BD player to the TV directly, then connect the TV to the sound system via optical or RCA red/white analogue cables. Although this will be the easiest of the connections, please be aware that only 2.1 audio will be output from the TV's audio output connections, irregardless of the input audio format. You can also directly connect the BD player's video to the TV and bypass the audio from the BD player to the sound system directly. This will give you the full audio experience while retaining the incredible picture that the Samsung TV will deliver. -MrSamsung
