No Regrets! Worth the Money Spent.
Posted .I have to admit, this wasn't the TV we planned to purchase. My wife and I were using an ancient tube TV in the bedroom. Since we don't watch a lot of TV (mostly on Hulu.com or occasional movies) I didn't really think of buying a new TV... until I started renovating the house. The TV just didn't fit the room so we needed to upgrade. So, on to the review of this TV, Why did we chose it? Because of the reputation of Samsung, the thinness of the bezel, the quality of the picture, internet connectivity, WIRELESS capability, internet browser function, internet apps available, ability to watch all the videos stored in my network, SKYPE! I know people complain about the light leaks on the edge. It doesn't bother me. I've seen that all the time on friends' cheaper sets. When I'm watching a movie, I don't notice it. What catches my eye is the clarity of the movie I'm watching. When watching action scenes, no blurring detected in my opinion. The only thing is, the default settings of the TV makes everything too clear and bright. You MUST calibrate or at least play with the right settings before watching serious movies on it or else the picture will look plastic and unreal. Watching angle is superb. A lot of people complain about the viewing angle of last year's model but NOT this one. I can watch it until the edge of the screen. The sound though is another matter. It is good when watching the news or other stuff on TV but when watching movies especially on Blu-ray (3D or not), you know something is missing. Why spend money on a TV and not on a decent 5.1 system? You know you have to splurge on a sound system as well. Since I'm still saving for it until next month, the built-in sound is NOT bad at all. No pops, no uneveness, not underpowered. It's just that a good TV needs a multi-surround system. Base is sturdy and classy. But you know this TV begs to be hung on the wall! I bought one online and installed it myself. It tilts, it swivels, and most importantly, the TV just looks gorgeous with its thin bezels and thin profile! You know the cool thing I like about the TV? Since the controls on the TV has to be at the back, when you put your fingers on the controls without looking, it magically appears on the screen! No more trying to peek on the side or back of the TV (sometimes with a flashlight) trying to find the right buttons to push. Well implemented touch sensitive controls! About the remote, awesome! It came with the unit unlike some reviewers I have read. It's a double side remote. Regular remote on one side, a qwerty keyboard on the other. Works with the Samusung Blu-ray (more about that later) with no user intervention. It just works. My only gripe is the backlight. It only turns on for a second. Too short to be useful. You need to keep on pressing the backlight button. Other button activates the light on again too but you'll end up pressing the wrong button which defeats the purpose of having a backlight. I wish it stays on for at least 3 seconds. I don't think any firmware upgrade can change that. Can it, Samsung? BTW, no backlight on the qwerty side of the keyboard though. It has a small LCD so you have confirmation of what you are typing. On the positive note, the directional arrow keys are touch sensitive! You don't have to press them, it works like a trackpad when surfing the net. Just slide your finger around and the cursor moves on the screen. This TV is Skype capable! Just buy the expensive Skype cam. If it goes on sale, I'll buy it. Although I LOVE watching the movies in 3D whenever possible, it's not really a necessity. Movies look great in both 3D and 2D on this TV. The glasses are light enough not to be uncomfortable. Negative is, it makes the scene darker (possible solution is to increase backlight or brightness). You have to be careful with the glasses too. The glass is thin and the first one I got was broken inside the box but Best Buy replaced it without question. I'll just be very careful on how you store those 3D glasses. They are cheap enough ($50) compared to last year (($150). Now, this is not a complaint of the TV but in 3D in general. You NEED to get the largest screen you can get to get the full 3D experience. This 46-inch is big enough for the tiny room I have but if you can get the 55-inch model or bigger, do it. 3D on the 46-inch doesn't immerse you enough like an IMAX theatre BUT no regrets here as other factors comes into play. 2D is simply gorgeous on this TV. BTW, the TV didn't come with glasses but, unknown to me until the last minute, that Samsung/Best Buy had a promo that included two 3D glasses, Shrek COMPLETE collection (4 disks) AND Megamind! Both the last Shrek disk and Megamind must be sent via mail though. What else... hmmm... oh and I was surprised that my purchase included a Samsung Blu-ray player! It's the BD-5500, not the top of the line I wanted but a decent player to start that 3D watching experience. I really wanted an OPPO player but that's another story. In conclusion, yes, I would recommend this TV if you have the money to spare. Just be prepared to spend more money on a decent 5.1/7.1/9.1 system to fully enjoy the movies. But this is true to any HDTV out today, regardless of brand and model.

Just Bought a Samsung 46 Inch, D7000 LED.
Posted .I just purchased the LED today. I'm not planning on opening the box and unraveling the LED until I get my Sony Stand, ironic, I know. I'll provide a review in two weeks! Stay tuned.

Excellent 3D LED SMART HDTV
Posted .I purchased this TV in August of this year(2011). I wanted to give it some time and get a good feel for the TV before doing a review. I'll break it down into 4 categories: Design and Structure, Setup, Picture Quallity and Sound Quality. Design and Structure: This model has a very sleek look to it. Samsung gave this TV a very thin Bezel which almost makes you forget theres a frame there. The back has all of the standard inputs and plenty of them which are setup nicely to easily mount this on your wall. The included stand is attractive looking and doesn't deter from the look or feel of this size flat screen. The TV itself is very well built. 5/5 Setup: There's a few things to this step. First the physical setup. Either attaching the included stand or mounting it to the wall. Both are very easily done, but I would suggest getting help for the wall attachment process if you are not experienced with this. Mainly to protect the TV. The base stand attaches easily enough with screws and shouldn't cause anyone to much challenge. The other part of the setup process will be once you turn the TV on. If your connected to the internet and most will want to be to take full advanatage of this TV you need to setup your internet connection and then your login and passwords for whatever services you use (for example: Netflix#. Samsung has made most of this fairly easy for Experienced computer users, reasonable for Average users, and Doable for Inexperienced users. Inexperienced users will probably want some help anyway. The menus are all easy to follow and the internal wifi had no issues finding all of the connections near me Its very easy to setup and use the internet features using the qwerty remote #included) which I find to be a very nice feature as now a days some sort of keyboard is a must. 4/5 Picture Quality: Amazing Thats the first word that comes to me. Stunning clarity even on older televsion shows and movies. The depth, color and sharpness on newer movies and Sporting events makes everything just seem so real. 3D Televison and Movies are outstanding. When I bought this I knew I wanted to check out the new 3D era and compared to what I grew up with I didn't really know what to expect completely. I was completely blown away by the picture and the sound. One note here is you need to get Samsungs Active 3D glasses that pair with the TV. They won't work with other manufacturers which is the only negative I can see. Price wise they are pretty reasonable. When I got mine they were $49.99. Even watching 2D on this TV you get a 3D feel for alot of what your watching. The best way I can explain it is how "Real" everything seems to be. There are also preset settings for movies, sports etc or you can manually adjust settings if you really know what your doing. There's more technical aspects to know about as well like the 240Hz Refresh, The 15million to 1 Contrast Ratio and I encourage you to read more about them. This TV does very well on all of its specs. 5/5 Easily Sound Quality: 2 10W speakers that seem to get the most mixed reviews from the research I have done on this TV as well as LED/LCD TVS in general. I have my TV setup in a space that is approximately 20x 20 x 10 and the sound using the TV speakers is plenty at half of max for that size space even making other noise. For Bassier sounds and the True Surround Sound that most people will want to obtain from Blue-Rays and 3D Movies then a Surround System is a must. I don't think there's any TV that has speakers that can replace a sub-woofer yet. For rating just the TV speakers as is for a TV then they do what they are intended to do. Its just the TV can do alot more; so on speakers you will want more. 4/5 From the Design to the Unbelievable Picture this Samsung 46" TV Delivers! Highly recommend this to anyone looking to get into 3D HDTV.

What a great all around T.V.
Posted .After researching T.V.'s for the past year I came across this beautiful gem and could not pass it by. The picture quality in the store was good but when I got this baby home, OH MY! It was stunning. (Time Warner HD) It looks like the image is floating in the family room due to the super this bezel. I popped in a BLU Ray and the images just popped off the screen. (Non 3D) Simply Amazing! Next came the 3D test. I must say I was skeptical at first after reading previous 3D reviews. I popped in Shrek 3 and the TV switched automatically to 3D mode so all you had to do was turn the glasses on and watch. (Glasses are very lightweight and fit over prescription eye ware and operate through blutooth) the 3D was actually quite good. More depth than objects flying out of the screen. Personally I would want to see more objects "jumping" out of the screen. But overall it was a pretty good experience. No crosstalk or ghosting present. At least with the Shrek 3D. 3D gaming was pretty cool but needs some work. Black Ops 3D was sweet but aiming took a while to get used to. MLB the show 3D was nothing special. Just added a little bit of depth. Only gripe it some Led bleeding in the corners. Not that bad but kind of annoying if your looking for it. Overall worth the money. Picture is simply amazing, Blurays will blow your mind with the clarity, and 3D is much improved and the glasses are super light.

Good TV.
Posted .I am writing this review because I almost did not purchase this TV on the account of a couple of remarks about "flashlighting". I took the chance and I'm glade I did. There is no "flashlighting effect" that I can see and the blacks looks black to me. The picture quality is outstanding. I can't comment on the 3D part of the TV. I haven't tried it nor am I interested in doing so. It just happen to come with the TV, being 240hz. I hooked it up to my DSL router and it streams netflix perfect. I was thinking I would have to upgrade my speed, but netflix automatically adjust the picture quality to the download speed available. Very cool. If you want to surf the web with this tv... all I can say is that it's like surfing the web on your cell phone, but hey that's what computers are for. The sound is better than I expected. Samsung has a great product. Overall I am VERY pleased with my purchase.

Great picture, easy set up, except QWERTY keyboard
Posted .The picture quality and clarity are awesome. The 3D is just like being there. Mine came with 3D glasses and 5 3D movies. Love the styling of the set, it is almost all screen, has small borders. Great looking TV, you don't even notice the frame. This Samsung did away with the blue light in the center of the screen and it doesn't make a sound when you turn it on, which I hated on my other Samsung TV. Easy to connect to the internet-wifi. Has several apps such as facebook and Pandora through Samsung's Smart Hub. The QWERTY keyboard is a little hard to set up if you go by the instructions that came with the TV, the bluetooth pairing required that the keyboard be held within 5-inches of the TV. This was not mentioned anywhere in the user manual. I went online to find this out.

Just what I was hoping for
Posted .I have been for the last two years watching prices and features of televisions and finally two weeks ago purchased the Samsung 46" 3D 240 Hz. I was indifferent about 3D technology until I went to Best Buy for a demo and it blew my socks off. We've been enjoying this television tremendously. I think the speakers are excellent. I've seen reviews where people say you need to augment the sound system but not for our living room. It's approximately 15' by 22' and the sound is perfect. The remote is easy to use and streaming Netflix has been really enjoyable with the Smart Hub. We got the bundle with the Blu-Ray player and two 3D glasses. They're the $29 ones which work just great. I wouldn't spend any more. We bought Tron 3D and it was incredible. I love this TV

You'll Never Go To The Theater Again
Posted .Picture quality is excellent. Like most TV's the built in speakers are not worth much. Be prepared to blow some money on a home theater system. The light in the corners is a problem that all LED's have but it is very minimal on this model. If you can actually see it well enough for it to hurt the picture quality for you in any way then please contact me because I have always wanted to meet the real Superman. If you constantly feel like there is a dark, lonely, empty, space inside of you that can't seem to be filled, then buy this TV. If it doesn't make you happy then nothing will.

- A:Answer I am assuming that you are referring to the differences between the C7000 and the D7000. If so, here is the information: 1. Q: Questionwhat is the difference between using this tv for skype and using your computer connected to a tv for skype?
Asked by rc.
- A:Answer There should be almost no difference in over all functionality. However, with the Samsung TVs, only the webcam offered through Skypes website is compatible with the TV. That said, with the TV, you would only need to connect it to a home network. Where as with the PC, you would need to connect the PC to the TV, then connect the PC to the home network. Using Skype on the TV basically cuts out one of the middle men and gives you a tailored Skype experience. -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionWhat is the advantage or disadvantage of having 240Hz compared to 120Hz?
Asked by RaisingHail.
- A:Answer the picture will become more smooth with the higher the refresh rate so 240hrz is the highest for leds and its gonna rotate the image 240 times per millisecond and 240hrz is needed mostly for 3d viewing as well.
