Excellent monitor for work productivity
||Posted .Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I bought this monitor to improve my work productivity. It was well worth it. It is not a cheap monitor but if you work from home a lot it is well worth it. Best Buy was offering $100 off the regular price when I made the purchase. I am not using all the inputs on the monitor. I have a very basic setup. I have my work laptop running Linux OS connected with an HDMI cable to the monitor. I have mulitple VMs open and some other screens. Makes things are lot easier on the eyes especially for people that spend very long hours in front of a computer. Also, due to the shape of it since it is an ultra wide things could possibly get easier damaged then with a regular monitor. I definitely recommend the Geek Squad Protection. I would also recommend a solid desk for the monitor . The monitor itself is not light compared to other normal sized monitors.

My eyes hurt.
Posted .Yeah, it works. The problem is that the screen is way too close for comfort. The cause is the design of the monitor-mount; the screen ends up jutting forward about a foot from the rear of the mount. Now, I could push the mount back so that it's hanging over the rear edge of the table, but that would probably cause stresses on the mount legs (I imagine) and possible failure. It's also pretty heavy which makes set-up a pain unless you have a person or two helping you out. Bottom line: consider a desk deeper than 31 inches. I don't think an after-market mount offers any more space-saving. Keyboard undermount for the desk may work. If I could do it over again, I'd shell out more money on a thinner, lighter model. It's basically a one-time purchase after all.
