Excellent Screen!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The colors are amazing and the picture is so clear that it almost looks 3D! The bezel is slim and is almost invisible - it truly looks like art on your wall. This is a beautiful screen!

A last-year television at fine price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a 49 or 50 inch screen, nothing larger, which limited options. Reviews and local store staff indicated that the UM8000 and its newer UN equivalent had very good image quality, so it was an easy choice. Installed, it obviously has darker blacks than the less expensive 44" 4K TV it replaced, an easier-to-use menu, very easy wifi connection, and it's really nice for displaying photos. It's working very well as part of a home theater system that would work well with a considerably larger screen. Its own sound is quite good. And it looks good in a relatively formal living room. Pull the chairs up and listen to the center speaker above the screen.

Great picture
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was easy WITH THE EXCEPTION of Bluetooth Audio to my Samsung Soundbar. Wouldn't connect via "Bluetooth" section, had to select TV on soundbar and bluetooth on TV...instructions were lacking and tech support was no help....they said it probably needed a firmware update and I'd have to wait...bad info. Aside from that, I'm happy with it. Cable management system is a great feature - very clean look.

great tv
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these 8 series samsung’s based on the performance of my larger 9 series. These are just as good with their thin bezel and performance.

A true Best Buy

Q: Questionwould this 49 inch tv fit on a 40 inch stand or are the feet to wide apart
Asked by tori.
- A:Answer I just measured my TV. The feet span 38 7/8 inches, so it will fit on a 40" stand with 1/2 inch to spare on each side. The width of the TV is 43" so it will overlap the stand by about 2" on each side. It's a very good TV; it works flawlessly with my AT&T UVERSE and high-speed internet.

Q: QuestionWith a lower refresh rate than the larger 8000 models, is it noticeable? I'm trying to decide if the 55" is worth the extra money on a budget.
Asked by SKT.
- A:Answer I've just installed the 49", and am wondering if that was a mistake also. Example: football action seems to judder, and so far the judder control doesn't seem to correct it very well. For example, hard to see football in flight on long pass or field goal. Best to compare 49" in a showroom against same action content on larger screen in same line. Disclaimer: I haven't yet tried all possible configuration of motion-related settings. Other than motion issue, picture is gorgeous (IMHO).

Q: QuestionIve been doing some reseach on this 49" tv and im a little confused about the refresh rate. Ive gone to different websites and some say this tv is MR120(60HZ) and other websites say its a MR240(120HZ) but outside the box it says MR120(60HZ) . Someone help
Asked by Motionrate.
- A:Answer All the models other than the 49" are 120hz that simulate to 240hz with motionrate. The 49" is 60hz that simulates to 120hz. Hope that answers your question

Q: QuestionDoes this tv have a Digital Optical Audio port?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The TV itself doesn't have an optical port, instead Samsung provides an accessory kit ( BOX ) that does. It has 1 optical port, 1 HDMI in port, 4 HDMI out ports, one of which connects to the TV, 1 ARC HDMI port for home theater sound, 1 antenna in port or cable BOX in and 2 USB ports.

Q: QuestionThis TV replaced an older Samsung in my den. I also have a 65" Samsung 1040 in my F.R. I now have upper & lower cropping on most movies on BOTH TVs (Netflix, Amazon, HBO etc.). I always had full screen movies before? No one has been able to help?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Press the "Home" button on the TELEVISION remote. Then press the left (9:00) position on the control ring until you highlight the gear wheel (settings) on the far left. Select the Picture icon and use the control ring to move to the Picture Size Settings. Select that and then choose Fit to Screen. That should take care of your problem.

Asked by bake.
- A:Answer 2 15/16 inches.
