Sexy and functional! I really like it!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a 6-year old electric HotPoint coil range prior to this Samsung model NX58M5600SW gas range. I liked my coil range a lot, but I would rather have a gas range if I could find one (a) with all the features I like, and (b) at a REASONABLE price! Well, one afternoon, I was visiting my local Best But to purchase a TV and happened to take a stroll down the "Open Box" appliance aisle, just browsing. I saw this range as an "open box" deal ... and it was under $450, delivered (there was another one, cheaper, but it was banged up pretty good)! I figured it this one was either damaged badly, or missing something. But upon closer inspection, I saw that the only think wrong with it was that it had a very small dent in the back on the left side, which wouldn't matter to me because this range would be installed between 2 cabinets. Everything else about the range was perfect. So, I called my wife and she agreed ... we would never get a deal like that for this kind of a gas range ever again ... and I bought it! I've had this range over a month now, and for the most part, I'm pleased with it. My previous range was electric coil, so I had to get used to cooking with gas all over again. Here are my pros and cons... Pros: -Looks amazing! -Cooking time is quick with the power burner and super power burner. -Convection oven cooks thoroughly and evenly. -Light touch keypads. You don't have to press hard to activate any of the keys. -Timed Bake and Delay Start work nicely! -Oven light comes on automatically when the door is open. -The included cast aluminum griddle works well. I wasn't thrilled with how lightweight it was, and the flimsy looking, non-stick coating, but it really works well! I just have to be careful with scratches and chips as it's a very thin non-stick coating on it. Cons: -Oven was running 25 degrees cooler than what I set it at. I used 4 different thermometers and at 350-degs, the oven averaged 325-degs after being on Bake for 45 minutes, and testing at 5 min intervals for 30 more minutes. Oddly, I only had to adjust the oven calibration to +15 to get a consistent 350-deg average in the center of the oven. I guess this is one of the problems with a gas oven ... big fluctuations in temperatures. -The cook top burners aren't as controllable as I'd like them to be. For example, if you turn any of the knobs from low to medium, the flames don't increase smoothly in 3 steps or levels as the dots on the knobs would lead you to think. Instead, there's only one level of flame change in between. So from low to medium, you would really have low, med-low, and medium. No big deal, though. -I'm not a fan of "power burners" in the front of the stove. The flames often "poof out" from under the pot/pan and can catch your clothes on fire if the clothes are loose fitting and you're leaning too far into the stove top. I always make sure to ignite the burner and adjust the flame before I put my pot or pan on. -Clean-up can be a chore. Removing all the grates and trying to clean the black enamel stove top can be tricky, especially if you want to remove streaks. Minor complaint, though. -The griddle burner's "high" setting could be a little higher. -Every once in a while, all the burners will burn with a lot of yellow in the flames. This probably has nothing to do with the range itself ... could be the natural gas quality coming into the house. -OK, this is a weird one, but every once in a while, when I am igniting a burner, my Keurig coffee maker decides to turn on all by itself and the clock on it resets to 12:00! It's on the same 110v outlet as the stove, and an electrician pal told me that the ignition system of the stove is using the same "frequency" as the Keurig ... and the Keurig doesn't like it. So I had to move the Keurig to stop it from turning on and resetting by itself! So far, I haven't had a problem with the knobs breaking or the painted enamel or stainless steel "finish" peeling off. But it's early yet. I'm hoping Samsung has fixed those problems before my range was manufactured! I haven't tested the Self-Clean function, nor have I used the Favorite Cook or any of the Easy Mode settings (Pizza, Dehydrate, Slow Cook, Bread Proof). I am assuming they will work just fine.

Amazing Stove... even better Convection Oven
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have several Samsung products including cell phones, TVs and washer/dryer... thought I would give this a try. Absolutely love this product from day one, including how it looks in my kitchen. Burners are fantastic and I love how the convection oven cooks things faster... 22 lb fresh Thanksgiving Turkey in 4 hours and no basting required. It is an excellent choice for the price... I don't have a microwave and do all food heating in the oven... which heats up very fast and cooks very evenly. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

First class gas stove
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first gas stove and we love it. Cooking is tons more fun. This stove is beautiful and we get nothing but complements. Easy to clean but not as easy as the flat top. Oven is great. Preheat fast. Convection feature is a must with gas. Only thing I don't like is the control knows need deeper lock detects so they don't get turned by accident. You barely have to push them in. All in all, it's a fantastic addition to our home.

Amazing stove
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is just an awesome stove. I love the bread proofer function. Oven heats up so fast. The convection is the best oven ever. I just can't stop baking. The simmer burner actually comes up to a boil. Most of the time on the big burners I stay below medium heat to cook. It cooks perfectly every single time. I have used my grill top numerous times. Makes great eggs and pancakes. I can't keep but from telling everyone about this stove.

We're cookin' with gas!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great range, terrific style, plus features galore. The Samsung technology makes me enjoy cooking once again! Five burners, including the oval center, makes stove top cooking fun. Love the sturdy, heavy, continuous grating, pots and pans easily slide into place. Appreciate the intuitive controls and the reminder tone when pre-heat temp is achieved. Looks great in the kitchen! I did a lot of research and found this model was highly rated by consumers and test kitchens. Happy with this choice.

Shiny new gas range
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. It certainly looks very nice. New, shiny, stainless steel. The gas burners and oven light reliably, which is no small thing. The oven seems to heat quickly, and cook evenly. We've enjoyed using the included griddle that fits over the large center burner.

Q: QuestionWhat is the griddle made of?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer It's a cast iron material with non stick coating. Sounds great in theory but I never use it because the griddle burner is basically useless. It doesn't get hot enough to make pancakes. I wish it was just a 6 burner stove now. After having stove for a year I would not buy it again without a re-design of the griddle burner.

Q: QuestionDoes this stove include an LPG conversion kit?I am extremely interested in the Samsung range, however, I need to know if this product will include a conversion kit to allow it to use propane rather than natural gas?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, the NX58H5600SS and other Samsung Gas Ranges come with the LP conversion kit. Thanks for your interest! Ms. Samsung

Q: QuestionStupid Question About Convection FeatureI just got this range yesterday. You would think I'm a man as I don't want to read the directions. Do I have to turn on the convection feature or is it automatic? If I use the convection feature do I have to adjust the cooking time or temperature? Thank you.
Asked by NAM.
- A:Answer Hi NAM, The convection fan in the NX58H5600SS operates automatically during pre-heat, Convection Bake and Convection Roast modes. When using Convection Bake, the temperature is automatically reduced by 25°F. This auto conversion feature can be turned off by following the instructions on page 56 of the User Manual. Since items usually cook faster when using Convection, it's a good idea to reduce cooking times, as well, or at least check for done-ness about 75-80% of the way through the cooking time. Thanks for the question! Ms. Samsung

Q: Questionhow do you use the hydrater? Can you really use this as an hydrater?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The oven has a dehydrator not a hydrator. To hydrate is to add moisture. This oven will remove moisture from food like fruit slices.

Q: QuestionHow easy it is to remove the burner grates?I'm a messy cook and will need to lift them after ever meal to clean.
Asked by Brebertski.
- A:Answer Couldn't be easier! I There are three rectangular cast iron grates; just pick them up and set them aside. Then wiping up the top is a breeze, because the whole top is sealed. I usually just pick up one grate at a time and give it a quick wipe down and then go to the next one. It's so easy to clean that I usually just hold the grate in one hand while cleaning with the other.

Q: QuestionDoes this range have a true simmer burner?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Yes, and it' s really great! The BTU rating is different for each burner, so it takes a couple of days to remember which does what, but the trick is the smaller the burner, the less BTUs.

Q: QuestionI would like just stainless vs not black stainless. is this available?
Asked by Steve.
- A:Answer Yes it is available. But why! I can tell you this I have had both in my lifetime. and stainless does not compare In any way to the black stainless. The black stainless is sophisticated. and elegant, and does not show every darn thing you can imagine like FINGERPRINTS and etc. The black stainless is smudge proof and finger proof, just a wipe with a soft cloth is all that is needed, to get any marks off of the oven . I use a wonderful stainless cleaner polish that elevates the look of the black stainless, it is beautiful. I have had regular stainless and I can tell you this, after the black stainless, I will never have stainless again ever, no comparing the two at all. Anyone who says the regular stainless does not show finger prints is false, because it shows everything. I would seriously look at the two closely, cannot even compare the two, the black stainless, is elegant all the time, no finger prints, and so easy to maintain.
