Really fine TV with some minor gripes.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Samsung - 50" Class - LED - NU6900 flat screen TV turns out to be pretty fabulous -- and leaves me wondering why it couldn't have been just totally fabulous. Actually it is, once it's in place and being used, but there are a few minor caveats that might not bother an experienced do-it-yourselfer. Pros: Lovely, lightweight, slim and with an incredibly clean and clear picture that is at times disorienting, it's so good. Cons: All nit-picky: First, the manual is terrible. We replaced a 10 year-old Samsung flat screen 40" screen (that weighed a ton) with this, and the old set had a very good manual. Same thing holds true for the new TV's throw-away remote (and once you've programmed your universal one this won't matter at all). Finally, the VESA wall mounting, which was a new and weird problem. The old set's brackets wouldn't fit the back of the new set. The holes were in the right place, but they allow no height adjustment, and the back of the TV is curved, which poses problems even for the new mounting hardware we bought. Still, in the end it's up there, the universal remote is programmed, the view is incredibly good, the remote is in a drawer somewhere and the manual went in the trash because it is useless. Suggestion: Consider having Geek Squad install the thing on a wall for you. Another suggestion: This one is worth the aggravation. A stellar performer at a great price (half what the old one cost a decade ago). Go for it!

High quality TV at a very reasonable price point
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TV has exceeded my expectations, especially considering how low the price was. The picture quality is excellent, visibility is good from most angles, and it is the perfect TV for a decent sized master bedroom. The only drawback so far was that I had to go to the hardware store for longer bolts (M8-40 and M8-50) in order to mount it on the wall. The standard bolts (M8-35) that come with most wall mounts are too short to overcome the curved back plate of the unit.

High-end entertainment center for low-end price???
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lightweight and pleasing aesthetic. The Samsung TV plus that comes with it is a really nice way to simulate cable in the age of streaming, just turn on the tv and you’ve got a thousand or so channels including old school Nickelodeon and early 2000’s MTV. So if you’re like me and want to just quickly turn on the tv for noise while you cook or whatever you’ll love that. The ability to install Apple apps and use airplay is a huge bonus. Arc HDMI included allows you to turn on the tv by turning on your Xbox or PlayStation or what have you. Always nice. The picture quality is way better than the price should allow but I’ve found it does that BS dynamic lighting thing where it tries to brighten or darken the screen depending on the scene. I hate that. I haven’t found one of the picture modes that turns this off but it may be possible. The HDR is kind of.. lack luster. I think maybe due to the low number of local dimming zones. Not really that important as this likely won’t be anyone’s theatre setup. I have noticed a good amount of ghosting playing games with Nintendo switch but I’m thinking that may have been because of the Spyro trilogy remaster being poorly optimized. Haven’t seen any ghosting in Mario galaxy or rocket league. The built in audio is actually pretty good too (for the price). Things to keep in mind: The remote does not light up. The only ports on the tv are an hdmi, arc hdmi, optical audio, and an Ethernet. So if you’re looking to complete your entertainment center.. maybe look further. Also, all the ports on the back are in a really stupid orientation that forces you to take the whole unit off the wall if it’s mounted. Maybe get everything plugged in ahead of time lol. Initial setup looks like it was meant to be seamless, but it did take me like an hour or two to fully set up including logging into all of my streaming apps etc. There is an app associated with it that’s meant to let you control it with your phone but from what I can tell I can only turn it off? There isn’t like a remote control feature with it so I’m still unclear why I would want this app. Maybe great for someone with a lot of Samsung home devices. All things said and done, for the price range- this is an excellent choice.

Good TV for Price and my purpose
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought 2 of these TV's during early access black Friday sale. I Spent $329 on each of them. These TV's were purchased to help create a "TV Wall", I have bought multiple Samsung TV's over the years. Most recent purchases were 65ks8000,75mu8000. These 6900 TV's were mostly for secondary purposes as they are mounted next to the "75. Mainly used for sports watching. You can clearly tell the 8000 model has a better overall picture quality but these 6900 serve my purposes just fine. One thing I noticed on BBY website is the image from the side angle shows a much "thicker" profile then the TV itself the depth without stand is the same as the 7100 model and is slim compared the image on the website.

Great TV for a great price!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The whole experience of buying this TV was great! This TV is very user intuitive and easy to setup. The picture is beautiful (even when using an antenna!). The 50” is perfect for me and my television needs!! The sales floor associate was knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful from when they first approached me, to when they loaded the TV up into the car. Best Buy is the store I choose for all of my electronics needs.

Pro: Pic, price. Con: channel guide, optical sou
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good picture for under $300. Channel guide not as easy to navigate as older Samsung tv was. Can't see scheduled programs list like old TV. Optical audio out; settings, sound, expert settings,DIGITAL OUTPUT AUDIO-PCM (for it to work). 50" overpowers bedroom in one bedroom apartment. Picture reproduces transmission level/quality,if excellent picture will be great, if poor picture will be poor. Warnings about fragility/breaking and gripping screen during unpacking/handling come from BB and set info, two people is strongly advised, 30 pounds, wide and fragile is not good for one person. Although, I am senior citizen and did it safely by myself, I have TV sales/unpacking experience from the 1970s that I had to recall. Also, my bed that I slid the TV out of its box onto is 3 feet from the dresser that I put the TV on, so I didn't have to pull it up out of the box or carry it but3 feet, otherwise I recommend 2 people.

||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bruh I haven’t left my room since I bought this tv. Def gained 20lbs. It’s got all the apps and stuff so I don’t even need to use my Apple TV anymore. Only app it don’t have is Crunchyroll but it’s all Gucci tho.

Q: QuestionMy stand is holding a 37" tv now and the total length of the stand is 36" will this tv work? If not which model has closer legs?
Asked by happy.
- A:Answer You can actually swap the stand legs on this unit to make the footing distance shorter. Requires a small modification to the TV (Samsung ‘keyed’ the slots where the legs are mounted so left / right wouldn’t get swapped). If you remove the keys, you can swap the legs and it narrows the footing about 12”. Still plenty stable. I had to do this because the stand I was setting the TV on was also too narrow for the footing width.

Q: QuestionWhat’s the best color settings to have the TV on? I know it comes in standard, but the color seems a but too dark. And the dynamic setting seems a little too bright. Any tips to get the perfect picture?
Asked by Brian.
- A:Answer I followed this guide here: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/nu6900/settings This was a good base point, then I've been adjusting things that I think need changed for my preferences (which is the best way to make it perfect for you, but this is a good place to start)
