Incredible Picture, modern look
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased this TV on Black Friday for $1,499. I actually ordered a different TV that morning online but canceled my order when this 55" Samsung LED went on sale. I have my PS3 and DirecTV connected via HDMI. So far I must say I am very satisfied with the purchase. Picture quality is simply amazing. I am replacing a 5 year old 50" plasma and this TV obviously blows it out of the water in every way that matters to me. I also have a 1 year old 50" 1080p Panasonic plasma in my other room that has a very nice picture. This is simply on another level, especially when watching blu-ray. The TV itself is gorgeous (according to my wife) and its impossibly thin...barely more than an inch. I'll address some issues I've read that people have with the TV and give my opinion: Poor Sound Quality: The audio on an LED is simply never going to blow your mind. The size of the display just doesn't leave room for good sounding speakers. I run my audio through a 7 channel receiver. If you actually care about sound quality, you would never use the weak stock speakers that come with your tv anyway. Invest in a decent surround system if you purchase this TV. "Scratchy" or "Blurry" picture during fast motion and action: The Samsung has Motion Enhancement Technology (I believe called Auto Motion Plus) that is meant to help with fast motion sequences. There are settings in the picture options that controls the auto motion. If you watched the TV and have never seen a tv using Motion Enhancement, it may look very strange. It almost looks like it stutters when you're watching a movie on HBO or commercials on HD network channels. You have the option to disable it if it looks weird to you. I have noticed no motion issues when watching HD football, basketball, or blu-rays and use the Auto Motion Plus on the "Clear" setting. Bottom line, if you don't like the look of it, just disable it. I see people giving this TV horrible reviews when its clear they didn't know they could adjust this feature. Audio is not in sync with picture: There is also a setting to delay the audio to match the picture when using a surround sound system. It took me about 1 minute to get the audio perfectly in sync. No Wireless Internet: It is disappointing that the TV doesn't connect to the internet wirelessly. You can buy a samsung wireless dongle but its not worth the money in my opion. You can get apple TV for the same price or even a PS3 for not a whole lot more. With a PS3 you can stream movies from your home computer's hard drive right onto your TV and you can also run the netflix streaming app. Bottom line: At $1500 this TV is simply amazing. I would definitely recommend it but keep in mind that you have to fiddle with the settings to make the picture ideal. Also, if you don't like how something looks there is most likely an easy fix. Go online to see what other people have done to make theirs perform better and READ THE MANUAL.

If your Samsung t.v. shuts down intermittently. .
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased the Samsung 55" LED-LCD, and it cut off 20 minutes after set up. I returned it and ordered a brand new one. I pick the new one up 5 days later, and this one cut off 30 minutes after I set it up. That's when I realized that there was probably, either something going on with my power source, or an I.D.10.T. error. As it turns out, a little of both. I was so excited to set up my new t.v., that in the excitement, I failed to realize that the power cord that goes into the rear of the t.v. is subtly polarized. One side is squared off, and the other side is round. The design flaw by Samsung is that with very little effort, the power cord fits either way. Which, evidently, was the way the sales manager at Bestbuy plugged it in, before it cut off on him 20 minutes later. The good news is that the t.v. has a safety feature that shuts the t.v. off if the A.C. is incorrect. The bad news is that Samsung should have designed it so that the power cord fits one way only, no matter how much you try to force the power cord into the slot. Which both, by the way, happen to be the same color, black. The fact that the slot is vertical doesn't make things any easier. MAKE SURE YOUR A.C. POLARITY IS CORRECT ALL THE WAY TO THE POWER SLOT IN THE REAR OF THE T.V. The t.v. is an excellent product, though you will need external speakers to fully enjoy it.

Very nice
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI got this TV yesterday to replace a 5 year old 1080p Samsung 56" DLP unit. I just plain got sick of replacing bulbs, as much as I loved that TV. First off, disable that auto motion plus feature. It's really hard to describe, but it makes everything look really strange!! I mean seriously, if I could not disable it, I would have taken the TV back that afternoon LOL. I run HDMI cables to my receiver, then a single HDMI to the TV, and no issues with sync of audio. I love to test TVs with Discovery HD channel on directv, as well as some of my favorite movies since I would notice a difference in the picture. Picture seems very sharp, perhaps even better than the DLP. It is also impressively bright, like right after I replaced a bulb in the DLP. This is with the settings in the middle and on standard mode. The DTV guide screen, which is blue with white text, feels so bright I almost need to squint, but in a good way, if that makes sense. :) I did not try the sound at all, but I can't imagine I'd give it a good rating being so used to Harmon Kardon and Denon surround sound for the past 13 years. I plan to update my review after a few months or so.

INCREDIBLE LED TV
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI was just reading the bad reviews on this item...Quite frankly I was surprised at the poor reviews. Some points that were brought up are really petty.....The sound of most TV's that are not using external speakers is, at best OK...I find the sound just fine with some personal EQ adjustments...I do notice a slight drag when hands fly but I would not have noticed unless I read the poor reviews..THE PICTURE IS FABULOUS...This TV is in my bedroom so the size is tremendous...I wish it had more hook ups for older components as I had to buy an expensive HDMI cable for my cable box and used the ONE hook up for my older surround sound system...That would be my only complaint is lack of hook ups.....LED really does have a totally different picture than LCD or PLASMA.....This LED TV for $1999 was a no brainer..Its FABULOUS....A+ TO SAMSUNG PS to the reviewer that was ranting about not getting 120 Hz ...Im not sure they are broadcasting is 120Hz as of yet, but I may be wrong...

Great in every category
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI purchased this unit two weeks ago and have been amazed at the picture quality. Even with our local cable company the HD picture is amazing. Coupled with my new LG Blue Ray, it is like being there. As far as the sound goes, I wouldn't know because I have a $400 Denon powering everything with 5 bose speakers. For an investment of only $4,200, I have a home theatre that rivals my buddies $15,000 one. Before I bought this, my first concern was that 120 mhz would give me a blury picture during action streams - not the case. I watch a lot of sports and I have not picked up any fuzzy delayed reaction at all. Another important note is that you don't have to spend the xtra $ on an internet enabled TV. Get the LG BD for $200 and it has the built in wifi that works great and can do all the things the online TV would do plus you now have a blueray player. Set up was a snap and most features automatically detects the signal. I particularily like the ECO feature that automatically adjust the brightness depending on the light of the room.

Great TV, but not a perfect TV
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis TV was an upgrade from my Samsung LN S4051 LCD. What bothered me most about my previous set was: square pixel like movement during fast scenes (particularly moving water), poor gradients (obvious change from one color band to the next). Both issues have been eliminated with this upgrade...I attribute that to the much higher refresh rate and contrast. I feared the high gloss screen would prove too reflective as I have a bay window on the side wall. While quite reflective the brightness of the screen makes it very tolerable...albeit nothing beats watching movies in the dark. :) The one thing I don't like is the obvious brightness at the corners of the screen. This is ONLY seen when the room and picture is very dark or is displaying black in the corners. So, depending on the movie, this may not be frequently apparent. It does however keep the screen from being "seriously" black in dark scenes and that's a shame because the fantastic contrast ratio yields very rich, dark blacks. This is a known issue with edge light LED technology used on Samsung TVs. In order to eliminate this I would have to move up from "edge lit" to their "local dimming" screen and for that shell out another $1K. I realized this when I purchased this and with the falling prices of technology could not bring myself to spend $3K for a TV to remedy it, I also did not want to wait. If I felt it was a long term "investment" I may have spent the extra money, but I don't feel as though TV technology is long term or qualifies as an investment due to the falling prices.

The best I've ever seen!
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendThis television is absolutely remarkable, by far the best I've ever seen, right out of the box after set-up. The picture is second to none, especially when receiving a true 1080p signal, it's almost 3D-like because it's so sharp and vibrant. With the LED backlighting you get a substantially cooler screen, no heat, and lower energy consumption. We've only had it a week but it confirms the reason why we have only Samsung TV's in our house now. This is the epitomy of HDTV and the reason for having it, especially for the price. Bought a Rocket Fish component cable for the Wii, hooked it up easily (all plugs are color coded), went into Wii settings and changed it to 480p and wide screen and man what a difference!! Much better picture for the games, easily worth the $25 price for the cable. Don't really understand some of the criticism such as poor angle viewing, mine looks great from any angle. And this TV even monitors the ambient light brightness so if you turn off the lights in the room it adjusts the picture! These are just two things that it does and this TV does everything it says it will, just take the time to thoroughly read the users manual and familiarize yourself well with it and make adjustments in the menu. You'll be really glad you did because you'll get the most out of this television the more you know about it. If you're in the market for a 50+ inch TV at a great price this is the one for you. Can't say enough good things about it. Can't wait for football season!!

Great LED TV without all the bells and whistles
Posted .I would recommend this to a friendI researched and tracked prices for a new front room tv for over 3 months. I was very interested in the LED technology but LED prices are still very high, so when this TV dropped to $1999 it was a no brainer for the Technology. This TV is 120hz which is most evident when watching sports and Blu-rays. The only concern I had was the "ghosting" or soap opera feel that many channels (Directv) have, but with the MotionFlow (120hz on) it is minimized. The settings and controls are simple and follow the traditional Samsung approach so if you have any older Samsung TVs you will feel right at home when setting up your unit. Debated the 240hz but don't waste your time with it unless you are going to get the 3D tv as it doesn't really deliver any more performance on most programming. If you really want the NetFlix, Facebook, and other portals and you don't own a PS3 or your cable/directv provider does not have, then may be you should go with the next model up because it has the added network/internet hookups. I also run my sound trhough a receiver, so I don't use the units speakers, and when I tested them alone, they were fairly weak (but that is what you will get with a tv that is only 1.3" thick)! If you can find this TV below $2000 then snag it!
Q: QuestionModel LN46C630 and UN55C6300 both say they are 120Hz but when you turn the TV on they say 60Hz, Why do they say 60Hz. ALso, the Product booklet 60Hz
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I had the same issue, marched myself back into Best Buy thinking I got scammed or the TV I bought was mislabeled. However, when i got there I was educated on the whole 60hz/120hz. The signal coming from your provider comes in two forms 60hz or 24hz. The TV then has a 60 or 120hz processor. This processor is COMPLETELY different from the signal from your provider (confusing I KNOW). To top that, Samsung doesn't make it very clear on how to turn on the 120hz. It is actually called "AutoMotionPlus" and is hidden in the Picture Settings. When you turn this on...you are now in 120hz. If this is disabled you are back in 60hz. When I got home I double checked the box (should have done that first) and sure enough it said "120Hz Auto Motion Plus". Hope this helps.

Q: Question120htz or 240htz?which is better and why? Is there a significant difference?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer Get the 120 htz. The 240 htz is a little bit better, but you really can't tell. Not worth the extra money. There's a big difference between the 60 htz and the 120 htz, so the 120 htz is really the ticket. Happy shopping!

Q: QuestionWhat is the difference between LCD and LED LCD?
Asked by Chris.
- A:Answer LCD traditionally uses a CCFL (Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamp) backlighting system that runs across the rear internal portion of the unit to illuminate the LCD panel from behind. Samsung LED TVs use LEDs in place of the CCFLs to backlight the LCD Panel. This provides for a slimmer profile, while offering superior contrast ratios and lower power consumption (up to 40%). -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionIs this model edge lit or back lit and where are the speakers?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer All of the current Samsung LED TVs will only be offered in the Edge-Lit LED array. Also, the speakers on this unit are down firing speakers located at the bottom of the TV. These speakers allow for a sleek outer design while preserving audio quality. -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionWhat is the contrast ratio?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The dynamic contrast of the UN55C6300 is 4,000,000:1. Dynamic contrast Ratio is the contrast ratio of the TV set with all of the contrast enhancing features turned on and working properly. Some of these features can include the panel material (Filter Bright and Ultra Clear panels), the active back light unit, and the panel processor (Crystal FHD Engine and the Wide Color Enhancer). Due to not being able to deactivate most of these features, there is no published standardized static or native contrast ratio for Samsung TVs. -MrSamsung

Q: QuestionWhile watching a movie with the auto motion the edges around the fast moving object or person look blurry or distorted is this normal?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer This is a great question. The AutoMotion Plus feature is designed to offer varying degrees of judder and blur reduction, and often times, it may depend on the incoming signal. In many cases, the AutoMotion Plus feature enhances the picture quality in terms of clarity and smooth motion. But because signals vary and can produce different results, different settings may work better in different conditions. And in some cases, the AutoMotion Plus may deliver the best result when it is turned to "Off". The AutoMotion Plus options is input specific, so if it looks best with your device connected to HDMI-1 on "Smooth" or "High", and looks best connected to HDMI-2 on the "Off" setting, the television will allow each input to save the AutoMotion Plus setting. You are still getting the full 120Hz/240Hz picture if your television is a 120Hz/240Hz television if the AutoMotion Plus is in the "Off" position. --HDTech
