great quality 4k TV
|Posted .I went through 2 other 4k TV's before keeping the Samsung Q8F. Tried the Sony Z9D and Samsung NU8000. The 8000 had difficulty with digital blurring and although the Sonys picture was okay it had issue with compatibility or syncing with my Apple 4k. The picture is great on the Q8F, I love the simplicity of the menu system and Samsung crushes the competition with their smart remote. During the setup it identified my Apple TV and Sonos sound system programing both the TV and remote to work with them. The remote also controls my Spectrum cable box (identified during setup as well). Moving to a 4k tv has taken some getting used too. I had a 58" plasma tv and will say, to me, nothing beats the picture quality of a plasma. However when you feed a clean 4k signal into the Q8F the picture is amazing. No digital bluring, excellent color, and very deep blacks. I chose the Q8 over the Q7 or Q9 as I did not like the connect box that those models use and the picture quality gained with the Q8 over the Q7 was worth the extra too me.The tv is in the family room within the basement so there are no issues with glare. Tv is very thin, light weight, and easy to setup.

Good TV, apps need help.
|Posted .I needed to upgrade my 10+ year old Samsung 60hz TV. (Even if the wife didn't think so) I did a bunch of reaseach the regular UHD tv didn't have clarity I wanted and wanted best bang for my wallet. I don't get the best of best with my budget but saved and wanted something good that wouldn't feel like I waisted my money. I came to liking the Samsung QLED almost got the Q6 but went out to get the Q8. Glad I did. Playing with my Xbox one x games are amazing. I see such detal that no wonder people could see me and shoot me where my old tv told me it was dark lol. Hd movies and Netflix look amazing. The apps on it have stopped working randomly like YouTube won't load. Coupled this with a Sony sound bar and it's theater quality. Xbox one on this especially the x is fast and crisp. I played this side by side with my old tv and Xbox one. Games load quicker and when turning and jumping etc the old tv was lagging and new TV was amazing and has helped my kid ratio. Watching TV is amazing on this too.

Unbelievable TV
|Posted .We were looking heavily at the LG OLED TV but the area manager convinced us to go with the Samsung and we couldn't be happier. I'd recommend this TV to anyone who wants an at home theater feel with crazy good graphics. You won't be disappointed!

I got this television for half price because it was an open box. I’m hoping to get to experience it a little more.

Great TV, but poor cable management
Posted .The picture/sound is stunning as you would expect from a QLED tv. Also enjoy the App hub and love that it auto-recognizes items we plug in and the remote instantly works with them. One thing that is annoying is the mobile APP that you are supposed to be able to use to mirror your phone/tablet to the TV only works if both the mobile device and TV are on the same wifi network. So since my network connection to the TV happens to be wired there, the APP is useless. This makes absolutely no sense. Whether I am wireless or wired, it's the same network, same IP address range. I don't think this is a feature i would use often so I am letting it go. But it must be said the cable management features on the back are severely lacking and make no sense. First, the power cord is ridiculously short, shortest i've ever had on a television. Which is fine if you are wall-mounting, but on a stand of decent size, this will cause issues. They should provide a couple different lengths to work with. Second, unlike the Q6/Q7/Q9, the Q8 has ports on the back of the tv instead a seperate box you can put anywhere that has the ports. Given the stand I have, I welcome this, except the ports are in a stupid location and face the wrong direction. If you are behind the tv, the ports are on the left side....FAR LEFT actually. Then, the ports themselves actually face the left edge of the TV instead of toward the center. This makes zero sense. Most TV stands themselves have some cable management in the center, so if you bring them up the center, you then have to run them down the left side of the TV then "curl" them 180deg to enter the ports. This puts undo stress on the cables and just looks dumb. The length of travel down the side and the "curling" make it such that you need to plan on needing cables an extra foot or two in length. There are no "hooks" or any cable management going down the side of the TV either. I used a command hook and made my own to give the cables some stress relief and make them invisibile from the front. I'm using a stand, but can't imagine mounting this on a wall with no cable management and having to run so far down the side of the TV and curling them back in. Now that I have it figured out, it's certainly something that I won't need to deal with every day, but Samsung could have made this way easier. If cable management is important to you, and you want QLED, consider the other series. I have a Q6 that has the seperate box with all the ports and it works great. In the picture I uploaded, the bottom right corner of the picture is basically the center of the TV. I am considering adding one more command hook to tidy it up a little more.

Q: QuestionWhy buy this TV instead of an LG OLED?
Asked by OLED.
- A:Answer You would buy this instead of an OLED if its going to be in a bright room and you are worried about burn in. OLEDs can get burn in if you watch a bunch of news shows or play games for hours a day. If its going to be running for 10+ hours a day then safer to get a QLED. Basically, after a few months of use a game HUD or news ticker bar would be burned into the TV and persist through other images. This TV is close to OLED, not quite there yet but it does show black with other content on the TV and its able to turn sections of the TV off to show better blacks. That's why you buy a Full Array Local Dimming TV instead of Edge Lit.

Q: QuestionSince the Q8 does not have an optical output how do you connect a Sonos sound Bar?
Asked by LouB.
- A:Answer It does have an optical output connection. It doesn't show up in the BEST BUY specs, but check the website for Samsung.

Q: QuestionWhat's the difference compared to the q80 model? They seem identical.
Asked by Kevin.
- A:Answer A quick Google search showed that the q80 is the 2019 version of the same tv. Based on what I can tell, it seems that the only significant difference is that the newer model has updated technology to interface with various voice assistant devices.

Q: QuestionWhy is the 65" Q8NF already down $200? I mean, I'm certainly not complaining, but it does raise some concerns whether they are already reducing the price because of a flaw they've found/people have reported.
Asked by Customer3.
- A:Answer I have had the tv for 2 months no and have seen no flaw what so ever. I purchased the 5year warranty with that and the tech support with was a LOT cheaper than shows online. If there are any issues, Best Buy will stand by it 100%. Same thing with an online service like Crutchfield.

Q: QuestionDoes this tv support Dolby Atmos and vision
Asked by Tj.
- A:Answer The TV speakers do not support Dolby Atmos and even if it did, you wouldn’t even feel the effect of the Dolby Atmos. You would still need a sound bar. Concerning Dolby Vision, Samsung has never supported Dolby Vision on any of thereTV’s.
