A little over a year of researching and planning a UHD 4K TV purchase, “replacing my 2009 46” Samsung Series 6” I’ve finally upgraded my living room with the flagship 65” Samsung QLED 8K, and of course yes it is absolutely amazing in comparison! HDR is now unlocked and enabled on my PS4, gaming is a whole new visual experience now! I can only imagine how great the PS5 gaming will look on this thing! I’ve compared QLEDs vs OLEDs for many many months, reading comments, ratings, and watching Youtube reviews. OLEDS are absolutely stunning TVs, but I need a TV that I can depend on to last me many years, just as my 10 year old Samsung did. With OLEDs, I fear the pixel lifespan might not hold up. Those 1 and 2 star rated comments I’ve read had me worried, and several OLED buyers were even experiencing pixel burn within 2 years of purchase. I just couldn’t risk it so I’ve decided the QLED because I think the picture is just as gorgeous as an OLED, but with higher brightness levels and no worries of pixel burn-in issues. BTW “Portrait Mode” is such a cool feature! The way the backlight darkens, it literally looks like a wall painting instead of a flat panel television.

This TV has the best picture of any TV I have ever owned. Yes I know that there isn't any 8K movies, tv shows or DVD's at this time but even programing that isn't 4k looks better on this tv than it does on my other Sony tv that is 4K. This tv up converts all programing to a higher level. The detail that can be seen is amazing. This is the first time that I've purchased a top of the line tv and am glad I did. Am very happy with my purchase.

I bought this open box display model, 65", for $1300! I mounted it on the wall and it's perfect. 4k content looks like a regular 4k TV. It doesn't look blurry or whatever quality issues you can imagine that would make you not buy this TV, I'm completely happy viewing 4k content. The "new" TV price is not worth it though. The oneconnect box or cable didn't work when geek squad mounted the TV, but I just exchanged it for another one at Best Buy and then it worked fine.
