PS5 Storage Expansion
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 2TB 980 Pro is working well with my PS5. I have played games, transferred, and downloaded many content on this SSD. So far I have used the 980 Pro for around 10 hours on my PS5 and I did not experience any errors or abnormal behaviors. Read and write is fast. I do not have a heat sink attached to it. Sony recommend having a heat sink and I would do just that. It will help with heat. One of the features this 980 Pro has is heat management. It is nickel coated to keep the heat down on the controller. For me, I am temporarily using two small desk top fan to cool the PS5. I can feel the air where my chair is. The fan is powerful but small and quite. The console itself is cool to the touch and never feel warm. I keep the console on top of my desk in a well ventilated area. I will order a heat sink and attached it to the 980 Pro in the future. I am not worried about thermal because the PS5 is cool to the touch, the read and write speed is still fast after long period of use, and I have not experience any lag or longer loading time after long hours of runtime. Working flawless and I am happy with the speed and storage capacity. Only thing I could think of that I am not happy right away is the price but SSD around this performance at the time of doing this review, is similar cost. You get what you paid for. Higher cost, should yield higher quality and performance and this 980 Pro is worth the price after you get over yourself for spending the same amount on this SSD compared to a digital PS5 lol.

Fantastic SSD for your PS5 expansion bay
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I installed this SSD into my PS5 along with a cheap heat sync I found online. This is a cheaper way to get your PS5 SSD than buying one with a factory installed heat sync. Save yourself the money and do it yourself. Speeds exceed that of the internal SSD in the PS5. I have had zero issue's with the drive after installing over 1.2TB of games onto it. I keep PS5 exclusive games on the internal while everything else goes on this drive. Great product and if/when 4TB versions come down in price substantially I will be looking to upgrade.

The one you're looking for
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At its current price of 120 USD, this is the one to go to when you want the most bang for your buck in 2023. Completely satisfied with it. Entire OS is blazing fast now, and all my Steam games load and update fast. If you were thinking about upgrading your SSD, now's the perfect time since the recent price drops means you can get premium SSDs for midrange price.

Great SSD for desktop
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far its working well and fast at moving files in and/or out. Easy to install as well. To use it, you gotta install an app on your desktop but that app contains valuable information about the SSD as well as your own desktop! And also allows customization on the speed of the SSD card

Q: QuestionHas anyone noticed it being hot? Not quite sure if it would be ok for my laptop.
Asked by mmsumulong.
- A:Answer It becomes very hot. As per my initial use it use somewhere between 60-70C but I've read someone measure it as high as 81C. I purchased a 1mm copper heatsink with thermal tape and attached it to this SSD. As per my measurement temperatures range from 34C to 46C. I've read somewhere 50C is still considered normal or acceptable. Note not purchase the 3mm heatsinks (the ones with fins) as they are designed for desktops. The 1mm copper heatsink fits perfectly on ,y HP Pavilion gaming laptop replacing the meatl bracket (with thermal paste) holding the old SSD.

Q: Questionis this compatible with a CyberPowerPC - Gamer Xtreme Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i5-11600KF - 16GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 - 500GB SSD
Asked by nick.
- A:Answer It should be compatible with any m.2 NVME slot. When you buy this, if you currently have a NVME drive and don’t have two NVME slots, you will need to purchase an adapter in order to use the Samsung cloning software. I bought my adapter for $14 on Amazon.

Q: QuestionHow about adding the endurance specification to your descriptions?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer To be fair even Samsung won't list the TBW on their own website and if you haven't noticed these drives no longer use MLC they use TLC.

Q: Questionhi do i need a heatsink?? i got Msi gaming laptop Thank you
Asked by a667701.
- A:Answer a667701: High-performance SSDs usually require high-performance thermal control. To ensure stable performance, the 980 PRO uses nickel coating to help manage the controller's heat level and a heat spreader label to deliver effective thermal control of the NAND chip. However, if you do want a heatsink, the 980 PRO with Heatsink delivers an additional layer of thermal control for smart heat management to reduce heat. With the added heatsink, play confidently on PlayStation 5 gaming consoles and PC systems without worries of sudden performance drops from overheating. - Samsung Memory
