Samsung Repair guy told me to buy a Kenmore

When the Samsung repair guy tells you to buy a Kenmore... I intentionally bought a high capacity washer to clean bedspreads, dog blankets, bath mats, and other bulky items that won’t fit in the agitator top-loader I had. From the very first wash, I was tremendously disappointed—actually, totally disgusted—by what this machine did to my laundry. Large items like bedspreads don’t even get fully wet; after a full cycle, huge sections of my queen-sized comforter are completely dry, and obviously still dirty. Towels used to wipe the dogs’ paws come out with large chunks of dirt and hair throughout, and leave behind equally large chunks in the drum. If I don’t wipe it after every use, the next load of laundry comes out dirtier than when it went in. I find myself running a medium-sized load of clothing through Heavy Duty three times to get it to resemble clean…so much for energy and water efficiency. Two different repair guys came out in the first three months and told me there is nothing wrong with the washer. The second guy told me that I should take soiled and bulky items to the laundromat every week—really? Why did I buy a washer if I need to go to the laundromat? Oh, and the activewash sink used for pre-treating or hand-washing items might fit a pair of socks, or underwear, but you can forget about anything larger—it’s too shallow to keep the item and the water in the sink. And like others have said, wear a helmet if you’re reaching in to the drum, or you’ll get a concussion from the sink. Finally, Samsung service is incomparably bad. It took over 30 calls for me to get the two repair guys out to me.

My review after 5 weeks of usage. PROS: Very quit. Looks nice. Giant tub for large loads. Treats clothes gently. CONS: Spin speed is too slow (even on max). 800 Max RMP still leaves some clothes wet and heavy. 1,200 to 1,400 RPM is a more "normal" maximum. Dryer must do extra work and use extra energy to dry clothes compared to my old washer. The transparent lid is pretty useless. The sink is in the way and is not transparent. And steam or condensation usually fog the glass from the inside anyway, making it not see-through. The tub is so deep it is dark unless you sign a flashlight through the lid. The hand wash sink is pretty useless and gets in the way. It is hard to add detergent to drawer if sink is up. If sink is down, detergent often drips into sink and is never rinsed away (unless you rinse it yourself). Does not balance well on spin cycle for large or heavy loads. If it is unbalanced, you get "Ur" error, then machine drains and fills with water to try again automatically. When washing a single medium-weight blanket, this "drain and fill cycle" repeated several times before I knew why, wasting lots of time and water. I had to balance the load myself and set to manual spin (the last choice on dial) to get in to finish. Thank you.

This machine was an exchange for the LG direct drive washing machine. I had my reservations esp because I read so many bad reviews about Samsung machines. I decided to take a chance since when I bought the LG machine I had read great reviews about it...ironic but true..look for the negative reviews and make a decision then...don’t just read good reviews..this Samsung machine is superb, washing cycles are short but efficient. Clothes are so clean, smell clean and based on cycle you pick, clothes come out almost wrinkle free. Make sure to read instructions and sort clothes properly and you’re good. Capacity is huge, only downside it’s too deep for petite people to reach little items like socks. Have a small stool handy and you have a solution. I don’t like that you can’t adjust temperature for some cycles, but I’m learning to work around it: sort clothes a little different and use different cycles. It does have eco warm temp which works as a middle ground if you need cold water but can’t adjust water temp. All in all, I’m happy with the purchase and with my Best Buy appliance team. Thank you!!!

    Somewhat disappointed

I have had and loved my Samsung TVs and refrigerator for many many years so when it came time to replace my ancient washer I figured to give Sammy a shot. Not sure it was the correct choice. Note: some of these may be due to the learning curve with the new technology. A few issues: 1. Plastic/nylon water supply connectors. They work, but metal would have been more durable. 2. Water temp selection doesn't seem to allow warm wash/cold rinse. You can make changes to the default temp but looks like there is only one temp for the entire cycle. I need to research some more. 3. Balance issues... This is my biggest issue. Machine is level and even when clothes are carefully arranged they float up in the water and get rearranged to be out of balance. Different for different loads... Bad results on a small load of athletic gear... bad results with a load of sheets and work shirts... while a load of towels spun smooth like a turbine. It seems like this is going to require checking in real time for every load.... which is way more engagement that I expect when it comes to doing laundry. On the plus side I got this during a BB $210 off sale. But I probably should have read reviews from sites that don't sell these things and I am thinking I probably should have got another Whirlpool like my old one. YMMV...

I have a preference for Samsung products to begin with, I have never had many problems with them and if I ever had, they have been dealt with it in an easy, fast, and complete manner. My experience with other manufacturers have been headaches more-so than not. So far, this washer has been very good to me, I like how many options it has, like the steam sanitize option and the active wash. I like being able to spot clean cloths right inside the top bowl and then drop them right into the wash. The only downside of this washer is that the washer tube is so big and I am kind of short (5' 2"), it can be difficult to reach the smaller items from the bottom of the tube after washing. I found using a step stool helps. It probably looks quite comical to see me over half inside the washer trying to get the clothes out. But on the flip side, it can handle my large winter blankets! No more laundry mat visits to wash them because they didn't fit in my old washer... I have only had this washer a couple months, so if in the near future i encounter issues with it i will definitely update this post.

Don’t buy this product, after 3 months of usage the top basin fell off, called samsung customer service got the worst experience ever, then after 6 months the top cover cracked and started to fall apart and call customer service again and have a nightmare. They said its a physical defect. I asked them ehat a physical defect means and they can even say it. Save your self with trouble, dont buy this product. Remember the top cover is made of plastic and it cannit stand the heat of washing so it carkes easily. Only have one servuce company in washington area. HNG appliancewhuch ever made it worst. After 6 months I ready to give this product away. Save your money and time. DON’T BUY SAMSUNG PRODUCT. THEY recalled some washer already and even their cellphone are recalled and not allowed in the plane. Dont buy this washer.

This washing machine has by far been every bit of worth the money and then some. I could not be happier with the machine. I was a little worried when I read some of the reviews and people were finding it difficult to be short and manage reaching into the bottom. WELL , I am only 5' 3" and of course I am too short to reach into the barrel without a step stool YET I KNEW what I was purchasing! A HUGE washing machine that can handle huge loads and I appreciate it so much! And NO I have never fallen in lol thats a bit much! And YES I did hit my head on the sink ONE time when I first used the step stool to get the last couple of socks out of the bottom, however I learned how to NOT do it again lol. I have always hated doing laundry and this machine is amazing... the picky reviews are ridiculous.... If you have done your research and you know what all you want in a washer then you know what you are bringing home. Literally my favorite toy in the house now! I 100% recommend! Not to mention the cleanliness of this machine showed me sooo quickly how disgusting my old machine was leaving my clothes. Great product period!!

I did some research before going into Best Buy & had my mind set on either the Whirlpool or Samsung washer/dryer sets. And truly I was leaning toward the Whirlpool but I changed my mind rather quickly after going into the store. The Whirlpool products did not seem to be as heavy & as sturdy as the Samsung units. Plus the Samsung had a much more appealing look as well for a pretty similar price. Of course, I have not been disappointed with my decision either! I love these machines. They are quiet & they do a great job (and I have a husband who has a side business welding & a son who plays baseball so they get their clothes filthy.) I also love the steam option and the nice little tune it plays when the clothes are done. Again, I'm very happy with my selection & would highly recommend these to anyone!
